Ignite Me: Shards of Glass, Part One (14 page)

“Damn.” I reached out and dried my hands on a towel and lent over to read the text.

You’re killing me here Evan! Visual aid?! Or is that too much too soon?! CB X

I chewed my lip. He had asked for a visual aid. I took that to mean he wanted a photo. I normally would have said no, but I trusted Cameron! I knew he'd never let them out of his sight.

“Oh well first time for everything!” I sat back keeping a good grip of my phone I didn't fancy it taking an unexpected dip! I turned the camera app on. It was as if the bubbles knew what I was doing. As I'd sat back they had all gathered just above my hips acting as a privacy veil.

I sat back and tried different angles, but it looked better with my knees were visible. The water and suds glistened off my legs. It made me feel sexy I couldn't deny that.

I didn't bother to crop the photo. I wanted him to see the whole thing. As I attached it to the text I could feel myself throbbing.

I'm kinda turned on right about now! Enjoy your ‘visual aid’ X

I hit send and put the phone down. I arched my head back and tried not to think about him getting the photo at work, but part of me was pleased he wasn't shutting me down. Five minutes later, my phone vibrated again. I leant over to open the text.

You are an angel sent from heaven Evangeline! What's turning you on?! The idea of me getting a hard on under the desk after seeing your long beautiful wet legs or the idea of them being wrapped around me as the water splashes over the sides of the tub as I make love to you?! CB X

I groaned as I clenched again. He was totally sexting me while he was in a meeting.

Both!

I couldn't even muster more than that to reply to him I was too distracted by how the water was making me feel.

I bit my lip and slipped my right hand down my stomach moaning at how sensitive my skin was. I ran my fingers down and over my soft folds of my cleft.

“Oh...”

My breathing hitched as I rubbed my hand over my entrance. I closed my eyes and moved my legs apart as I rubbed my fingers over my cleft imaging it was his fingers softly dipping in and out of me.

I clenched and pushed against myself. “Oh.’’ I quickened my pace, thinking of him, how his mouth would feel on my skin, how his body would feel pressing into mine, arching my back up, the water splashing over my breasts as my breathing hitched.

I brought myself to a climax as I felt myself gush. My shoulders heaved as it rippled over my body. I liked how it made me feel. I felt relaxed.

I groaned as my phone vibrated again. I dried off my hands and opened the text.

Did you enjoy that?! CB
.

I blinked at the screen. How could he have known I was going to pleasure myself? So I played it down.

Enjoy what Cameron?!

I sent it. He replied almost straight away.

Touching yourself and thinking of me?! CB.

I grinned.

What makes you think I did that?!

I smiled as I thought of him getting annoyed because I wouldn't admit it. My phone buzzed again.

Because you did! Don't deny it! I'd like to know how it made you feel! Tell me! CB.

I shook my head at his demands for me to tell him. I guessed he'd maybe use whatever I said as a reply to aid him when he got a break.

Like thousands of nerve endings being exposed at once! It made me feel pretty good thinking of you touching me.

I hit send. A few moments later he sent a reply.

Jesus, Evan. I swear if I wasn't at this meeting! I want you so bad! CB.

I smiled. I wanted him too, but he was still gonna work for it!

The feeling is mutual! See you later! I've gotta get ready!

I sent it knowing he'd be frustrated that I was cutting it short but I really did need to get dressed! I had been in the bathroom for an hour.

My phone vibrated a few seconds later.

You wish I wasn't in a meeting or that you want me too?! CB. X

I smirked, knowing he was annoyed that I'd not given him a direct answer.

Well, I think I'll tell you the answer later on! You'll just have to wait, baby!

I hit send and then panicked. I hadn't meant to call him baby it was force of habit. A thing I was used to doing with Sean but Cameron wasn't easy going. I wasn't sure how it'd be received. I climbed out of the bath, wrapping a large towel around myself and walked over to the shower. I didn't like washing my hair in the bath. My hair dye stained the tub.

I climbed into the shower and washed my hair, I heard my phone vibrate again but it could wait. I finished off my hair and then wrapped myself back in the towel and set about brushing the mop top that was my hair into some kind of order. The amount of conditioner I went through to be able to get a brush through my hair was insane.

After 10 minutes my hair was brushed and I picked up my phone to check the text.

What if I can't wait? And I found you calling 'baby' oddly acceptable and even a little sexy. CB X

I shook my head as I typed.

Then you will have to learn to wait! And I'm glad I didn't offend you! X

I walked off to my bedroom and rummaged around my closest for something to wear. It was just a museum trip so I settled on a pair of bottle green skinny jeans and a black blouse with skulls on it. After picking out clean bra and panties I got myself dressed.

I rolled my eyes as I saw his name flash up on my call display. I wandered back out to the sun terrace as I answered it.

“Hey, you!' I smirked.

“I can't wait, I need to know your answer!” His voice sounded restrained.

I sighed. “Why can't you wait Cameron?!”

I heard him moan. “Because I need to know now!”

I grinned. “You very impatient, but since you asked so nicely baby, I'll tell you!” I let my accent be drawn out a little more than was needed. “Yes to both!” I bit my lip.

There was a sharp intake of breath and a moan.

I wondered what he was doing, he sounded breathless. I was tempted to ask just to see if he’d tell me.

“Where are you now?!”

“I'm letting my hair dry in the sun out on my terrace! Why, where are you! I assume you’re on a break or something!”

“I'm in my office, Evan, that second photo you sent me gave a hard on so bad that I couldn't even move!”

I grinned. I liked that I'd turned him on. “Why did you ring me?! You’re gonna be seeing me in like less than two hours!”

He sighed. “Because I needed to hear your voice. I like that you aren't afraid of yourself!”

I knew what he meant. “Some men wouldn't like that I touched myself!” It was true Sean hated it, said it made him less of a man.

He laughed. “Baby, I don't have an issue with you touching yourself as long as you’re thinking of me while you’re doing it! And besides sometimes when I'm not around, at least I know you won't be frustrated!”

He had a point. “That works both ways yanno!”

There was a pause. “I know! I don't think I'm ever gonna be able to look at that meeting room the same again, knowing what I did under the table!” He chuckled.

I laughed. “Way too much info there!” I liked how he called me baby, it made me feel funny.

“Sorry. Make sure you eat lunch before we go out! If you want, you can come back to mine, I'd love to show around and I do actually mean that! There is no pressure!”

I pulled a face. I didn't mind the idea of seeing where he lived. I knew he was happy to wait for me to be ready to take the next step. “Okay then cool! I'd better go, I need to eat some food!”

He laugh. “Okay Evangeline until 1pm!”

I smiled. “Until 1pm Cameron.”

I cut the call. I enjoyed talking to him. I knew he was intense, impatient and a little domineering but I was a firecracker with a tendency to do the opposite of what I was told, but the pair of us combined equalled fireworks I knew it, and I think deep down he knew it too. I got up, walking back into my room, locking the door behind me. I picked up my little sketch pad and the mechanical pencil and packed them into my bag. Then made my way to the kitchen and opened up the cupboard where I stored all my cereal bars. I pulled one of the meal bars out and pulled myself up onto the counter to eat it. Okay, so it wasn't proper lunch, but it would do. I looked out of the window at the various boats busy going up and down the river Themes, people all going about their daily lives. Maybe some even on dates. I smiled as I finished the bar and left the wrapper on the counter. I pulled my phone out of pocket and tapped out a text to Jess.

I hope your date with Dan went well! I'm off on my second date with Mr Hero hair aka Cameron in a while! He's taking me back to see his apartment after our date! I’ll let you know how things go like soon xxxx

I hit send and shoved it back in my pocket as the phone near the door rang. It only ever rang when the front desk wanted me for something. I frowned as I jumped down, taking the little distance in my stride and picked it up.

“Hello?!” I wasn't sure what they'd want.

“Hello Miss Watson, there is a Mr. Ballard to see you! Shall I send him up?!” It was John from the front desk.

I glanced at the clock in the kitchen. It was only 12.10 he was early. Had he been on his way when he called me?! I know he'd said he was in his office, but maybe he lied. I wasn't really ready and I'd not tidied up.

“Sir... You need to wait... You can't just... I'm really sorry miss he's just walked past me and got in the lift!” He sounded pissed off.

“It's okay, I know him, and he’s my friend! He's impatient! I'm sorry, he does that!” I cringed.

“Oh well, okay then!” The line went dead and I hung the phone back up. Why did he have to act like he did?! Like he just couldn't have waited a few minutes more.

chapter 11

I opened the door and lent in the frame waiting for the lift doors to roll open. From my vantage point I would see the lift open before he'd see me. I'd not even got my shoes on yet.

I watched the floor indicator for the lift, my heart beat a little faster as the light said 6. The doors rolled open and he strode out confidently adjusting the neck of his jacket. His hair bounced as he walked. He'd not seen me yet.

I counted in my head until he'd glance up.
1... 2.... 3... Oh, hello Mr. Hero hair.

He stopped in his tracks as he saw me leaning in the doorway.

“You’re meant to be in your office!” I smirked at him.

He glanced up at me with a hungry look in his eyes and I momentarily took half a step back. His eyes swept up my body.

“Yes I am!”

His voice had that husky richness to it that made me go weak at the knees.

“I needed to do something I can't do in front of my staff!” He raised a brow at me.

I took a shaky breath and just stood and stared wide eyed at him. I braced for impact.

As he reached me a smile spread across his face. “No need to look terrified of me!”

He embraced me, enveloping me in his strong arms.

I gasped as he wrapped his arms around me, he held me so tight I could only just breathe. I wrapped my own arms around him under his jacket and walked backwards into the apartment.

The door shut behind him with a heavy thud.

“I have waited all day for this!” He captured my mouth with hungry urgency pushing me back towards the counter.

I felt flustered for a few seconds, my senses were whirling still catching up. I freed my hands as I ran them into the soft curls of his hair.

This felt so right.

After a while he pulled away, his brown eyes gazing down at me wide.

I pulled a breath in. “Is everything this intense with you?!” I asked, though gasps.

“Yes! Yes it is!” His breathing was heavy.

Without shoes on I only just came to his shoulder. I rested my head against his chest and listened to his heart beating frantically in his chest as I waited for my breathing to return to normal.

He stroked my hair with his fingers, in sweeping motions.

“I love you Evangeline! Love is an emotional and irrational thing which goes against the cold reasoning, I normally apply to all aspects of my life, but when it comes to you, I am making an exception!” He rested his chin on top of my head.

I didn't know what to say. He had the habit of saying things that I was sure he hadn't meant to say out loud. I collected my thoughts.

“All I know is that this feels right, after what Sean did I never thought I'd find comfort in a man’s arms again, but you and me we are different aren't we?!” I drew a breath in. I couldn't deny he wasn't like any other man I'd ever met and in some ways our worlds had collided by accident, but now we were orbiting each other I never wanted the alignment to change.

“Forget about him he's an idiot!” He spat the words out like they tasted bad in his mouth.

“I need to put my shoes on...” I grinned as I looked up at him.

He raised a brow at me and stepped back, letting me free from the hug. “May I say you look very enticing today?” He smirked at me.

I felt myself blush. “You always look enticing! It's how you move! Like your whole body just flows freely as you walk! It's sexy as hell and a tiny bit intimidating!” I looked around wondering what shoes to wear.

“Oh for god sakes!” He dramatically walked over to the counter where I'd been sitting before and picked up the wrapper of my meal bar and proceeded to wave it at me. “I told you to eat lunch! Not one of these bloody things! Evan they aren't good for you!” His face contorted.

I raised an eyebrow at him. Who the hell did he think he was?! “Don't barge into my home and start getting all moody about what I eat! Don't spoil things for us!” I walked away to fetch my converse from my bedroom. I wanted to a second to calm myself down.
