"I know who Wesley is and who he is not," I said.
"Whatever," Mike said as he placed the key in the front door.
"Yeah, whatever," I said, feeling uneasy as I followed him inside and hustled up the stairs to my room.
Wesley
n Saturday Keysha and I rode the Pace Bus to the Lincoln Mall in Matteson, Illinois. During the ride she began asking questions about incidents that had occurred during the time I was addicted to alcohol. She didn't sugarcoat any of her questions, she flat-out asked some very serious questions. I felt as if I were being interrogated.
"Wesley, have you ever gotten a girl drunk and taken advantage of her?"
"Wow, where did that question come from?" I asked, feeling uneasy about telling her the truth.
"You said it yourself, you're no choirboy."
The tone in her voice made me uneasy. I was at a crossroads. I wanted say no, but that wouldn't have been completely accurate. Or I could tell the truth and be as open and as honest as I could and hope that she'd understand that I'd made a big mistake. I took a deep breath and then exhaled.
"What had happened was—" I paused. "No, the truth of the matter is, an incident happened at this house party about a year ago. It happened one day when there was no school. That particular day I was hanging out with my friend Ed Daley. We were sitting in his front yard drinking some booze that his twenty-one-year-old brother, who happened to be a bartender, had gotten for us. Some schoolmates rode by on their bikes and said that there was a major house party going on three blocks over. Ed and I were bored out of our minds so we were all for crashing a party. We gathered up our six-pack, got on our bikes and went to check out the party. As it turned out it was the party of the century. It seemed as if every student from our district's high schools were there. Ed and I got in because we had alcohol and decided to get more of it by calling his brother back. Ed and I took up a collection and came up with two hundred dollars to spend. Ed's brother showed up with a few of his buddies and they made a liquor run. They came back with all types of alcohol and Ed's brother began mixing up really strong drinks for everyone. Everyone thought we were so cool for scoring some alcohol and a bartender. Then Ed called up Liz Lloyd and told her where the party was and to bring some Ecstasy. Liz and a few members of her crew showed up about thirty minutes later, and for those who wanted to take their experience to the next level, she supplied them with the pill, at a good price, mind you. She made a lot of money that day.
"Before long a number of people were either buzzed, bombed out or well on their way to being smashed. The music was good too. Everyone was dancing close to each other, grinding on each other with wild, horny energy. Then Liz hooked up with this young girl who was completed wasted but wanted to have sex."
"Wait a minute. Some girl was walking around asking for it?" Keysha needed clarification.
"Yeah."
"Who was she?" Keysha asked.
"You don't know her. She doesn't go to our school. But her name was Felicia Wilson. Anyway, Liz took Felicia by the hand and began dancing wildly with her in the middle of the living room where people could see them. Liz was all over Felicia but she didn't seem to mind. One thing led to another and Liz did her."
