‘Your Sins Are Forgiven!’
Undeterred by the crowds blocking their way, four good friends broke through the roof of the house Jesus was in and lowered their paralyzed friend on his mat, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw the sick man, He said, “Be encouraged, My child! Your sins are forgiven.”
These bold, gracious words scandalized some legalistic scribes there, but they penetrated and restored the soul of the poor paralytic. For years, he had probably believed that he was paralyzed because of his sins. Jesus said to the man, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” And the paralytic man
leaped to his feet!
Pay attention to this: Before the man could receive healing from the Lord, he needed to be assured that his sins were forgiven. I want you to know right now that YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN because you believe in Jesus!
I write to you, little children, because
your sins are forgiven you for His
name’s sake.

A Righteous Foundation For Your Forgiveness
It is because of JESUS that your sins are forgiven. At the cross, He bore your sins and was punished to the full by the fiery wrath of God. He did a
perfect
work of removing your sins once and for all, that’s why He could cry out, “IT IS FINISHED!”
Beloved, the wall of sin that once stood between you and God has been broken down by the finished work of Jesus. His blood shed at Calvary has washed away your sins and released the flood tide of God’s blessings.
Today, you have a righteous and rock-solid foundation for your forgiveness and healing—Jesus and His finished work!
In Him we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness
of sins, according to the
riches of His grace.

Unlike those other high priests, He does not
need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this
for their own sins first and then for the sins of
the people. But Jesus did this once for all when
He offered Himself as the sacrifice
for the people’s sins.

He lives for the glory of God.

All Is Forgiven, Once For All
My friend, here’s the good news: ALL your sins—past, present and future—have been forgiven! The blood of Jesus has washed them all away, and because of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice at the cross, God does not keep an inventory of your sins.
Beloved, be deceived no more. ALL is forgiven! Jesus did it ONCE FOR ALL TIME. It is finished! Today, your sins cannot stop God from healing you!
Surely our sicknesses He hath borne, and
our pains—He hath carried them, and
we—we have esteemed Him plagued,
smitten of God, and afflicted. And He is
pierced for our transgressions, bruised
for our iniquities, the chastisement of our
peace [is] on Him, and by His
bruise there is healing to us.
