I nod. I tuck the envelope into my purse and watch him get back into his car and drive away. I don't open it until we are on the train and Aunt Jenny has dozed off.
The envelope contains a sheet of paper. There are exactly two words on it:

I dig in my purse for a pen. I turn the paper over and begin to write back to Finn. I want to tell him that I'm sorry too.
