From One Night to Forever (5 page)

Kacey leaned back on her elbows, raised her knees until her feet pressed flat against the fluffy white comforter, and spread her legs wide. Dark and excited desire flashed in his penetrating eyes. Pulling his lower lip between straight white teeth, her sexy one night stand came back to the bed.

She expected him to jump on her, push in deep, and screw her brains out. Instead he slid his lean naked body against hers. The curly hairs on his chest tickled her stomach and breasts on the way up. Long legs entwined with hers, and gentle fingers pressed into her hair. He lifted her head and kissed her with the same slow thoroughness as before. Her body rose from the bed, and her arms wrapped around his muscled torso. Without breaking the kiss, he lowered a hand between them, took the heavy length of his arousal in his fingers, and ran the blunt thickness over her swollen clit.

Her nails dug into his back. Kacey’s knees spread further apart. Her hips rocked back and forth, twisting beneath him, increasing the slick waves of pleasure of his body rubbing hers so intimately. He pressed the blunt tip of his penis against her wet opening. Kacey lifted her hips, trying to get him all the way in, but again he was slow, deliberate. With steady, short strokes, he slowly filled her to the hilt.

Kacey’s head pressed back. His lips lowered to kiss her chin, then her neck and he started a steady rhythm. Strokes that resonated deep inside her body. Waves of pleasure traveled to every nerve ending she possessed. A strong hand gripped her thigh. He lifted her left leg higher and pushed even deeper.

“Ooh, yes, like that,” she moaned.

“Do it again,” he said in a low, thick voice. “Tighten around me.” Kacey grinned and squeezed her internal muscles around him. The friction increased, and she sighed with pleasure.

A long, rugged groan ripped through him. “God, yes.”

His strokes continued, and with each one she clenched him tighter. Their movements quickened as their pleasure grew. Until his body jerked deep inside of her. “Oh, shit, I can’t…”

She didn’t care that he came because as soon as his body shook then jerked, her own orgasm crashed through her. Her legs locked around his hips, and her arms seized against his chest. The world exploded in a rainbow of colors, and her lungs refused to accept air. If having him buried so deep didn’t feel so good she’d be afraid of the violent reaction of her body. But he did feel good. Good enough for her to risk the lack of oxygen again and again to relive the best orgasm of her life.

Chapter 6

Fifteen minutes after the best sex of his life, Aaron was almost ready to leave the bathroom. They’d lain on the bed, both breathless and stunned, before embarrassment drove him to hide in the bathroom under the pretense of getting cleaned up. The same guy he’d seen all his life stared back at him in the mirror, but that guy usually didn’t get turned out the first time he had sex with a woman. That guy definitely didn’t come
before
the woman he was with.

You gotta do better, Aaron!
He would do better the second round. Because he damn sure wasn’t letting his sexy goddess go without another taste of ecstasy!

He opened the door and froze, his brows drawing together. Kacey was frantically picking her clothes up from the floor and dumping them into a pile on the bed. Her back was to him, and she hadn’t noticed him leaving the bathroom. She reached for her beige underwear and bent to put them on. Aaron hurried across the room and wrapped his arms around her from behind. She straightened and dropped the underwear. Her body stiffened, but she didn’t jerk away.

“Sneaking out on me?” He couldn’t get over how much he enjoyed her skin pressed so tightly against his.

“I thought the long stint in the bathroom was my cue to leave.”

Aaron pushed her hair aside and kissed the birthmark on her neck. The little star-shaped mark was his favorite thing about her, because kissing that mark had led to their first real kiss.

“Definitely not a cue. It just took that long for me to put together the remains of my broken ego.”

She chuckled and twisted in his arms to face him. “Broken ego?” Head tilted to the side, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I’ve always been a guy who believes in ladies first. But you, goddess, sapped out my usual ability to hold back.” Gripping her cute ass in one of his hands, he gave a squeeze. “I must redeem myself.”

“Oh, really?” Her brow lifted. “What makes you think I’m interested in a rematch?”

Aaron’s hand left her behind to slip between the front of her thighs and deep into her body. When she tightened around his finger, Aaron’s eyes lifted heavenward. Memories of how good she’d felt around him, and how quickly she’d brought him to his knees, surfaced. He needed to calm down or the second show would be a repeat of the first.

“I think you’re interested.” He slowly slid his finger out of her slick channel.

A sexy grin lifted her thick, full lips, and she leaned in to kiss him. Aaron pulled his head back. “But first, I’ve got a few more questions.”

A cute line appeared between her brows, and she pulled the corner of her bottom lip between her teeth. “You know we’re past that point in the night.”

“I can’t help myself. You’ve got me intrigued.” He stepped back and pulled back the covers on the bed. “I want to know more about you.” Slipping between the covers, Aaron gave a soft tug on her hand, but she didn’t get back in the bed.

Instead she crossed her arms over her chest and glanced around the room. “You really don’t have to do this. Tonight is just about having fun.”

“Well, I think it’s fun to get to know more about you.” He gave her the smile she’d complimented him on earlier and tugged on her arm. The confusion on her face finally cleared up, and she slipped into bed beside him.

His actions confused him. They were past the point where he had to try and be the suave guy she wanted to go to bed with. Still, something in him couldn’t let her go without knowing more. Hell, he honestly wouldn’t mind spending
a lot
more time with her in the few days he spent in Resilient, both now and in the future, working on the collaboration.

So much for “no complications.”

Aaron shook aside that thought. “Favorite color?”

She lifted a shoulder. “Green.”

His brows drew together. “Green?”

Her chuckle sent a pleasant thrill through his chest. “Yes, green. What did you expect? Pink, or yellow or lavender?”

He nodded. “Okay, you got me. But why green?”

“I don’t know, I just like it.” She turned on her side to face him, her head propped up on her hand. “It’s the color of spring, rebirth, all things new in a year.”

“So spring is your favorite season?”

“It is. Everything starts over in spring. It’s nature’s reminder that no matter what happened before, there’s always hope to start again.” Her eyes drifted off, and something was reflected in her voice. She’d been hurt before. Which made him want to never hurt her.

Aaron brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. She blinked several times, and the coy smile from earlier returned.

“Okay, your turn. What’s your favorite color?”

“Orange.”

“Orange?” Disbelief filled her voice.

“Yes, orange. It’s bright, funky, fun. And I’m all about having fun.” She grinned, and his lips raised automatically. Her smiles were contagious. “My favorite season is summer.”

“It’s so hot in summer.”

“I know, but it was always the best time growing up. My dad is all about family. Down to routine family meetings, Sunday dinners, and heartfelt lectures. So of course every summer he dragged the entire family out on some weeklong vacation. The beach, the mountains, the lake.”

“Sounds fun.”

“It was great.” He frowned. “Then one year my oldest brother started sulking and kinda sapped a lot of the joy out of things. He’d start arguments and then disappear. My parents tried to pretend as if things were okay, and even force fun on the rest of us, but we knew Kareem, that’s my brother, wasn’t making it easy. Pretty soon the vacations stopped.”

“I’d think that would make you hate summer.”

“Nah, there’re still good memories there. And I can’t help but long for the beach vacations to return.”

She lifted her hand and smoothed the line that had formed between his brows. He hadn’t thought about the end of his family vacations in years, nor had he considered the strain that had started in his family around that time. He’d been too young to understand, and thankfully his family had overcome all their hardships, but that young, happy time was forever lost.

Aaron took her wrist between his fingers and brought her hand to his mouth, where he lightly kissed the soft flesh of her palm. “Favorite meal?” His tongue traced over the spot he kissed, and she shifted closer in the bed.

“Hmm, that has to be the country fried steak and gravy we make at Momma’s Kitchen. You?”

“Spaghetti. Mostly because my mom always makes it when we’re all there.” He kissed her wrist and caught a hint of a sweet-smelling perfume.

“That’s nice,” she murmured. He wasn’t sure if she meant the kiss or his reference to his mom’s spaghetti.

“What’s your favorite song?”

He frowned. “I’ve never thought about that.”

“Well, think.”

“Sisqo, ‘Thong Song,’” he said with a grin. “What man doesn’t love a thong?”

She rolled her eyes but laughed, and they spent the next few minutes trading favorites. He’d lain around with women he picked up and asked them questions before, got to know them a little better—all to kill a little time before the second or third round of sex. But he’d become so interested in learning more about Kacey that he forgot all about this being a time filler.

“You know my mom met Ricky Mable several years ago,” she said when their conversation traveled back to wrestling.

Aaron’s eyes widened. “Really? How?”

“She ran into him in a deli in New York years ago.”

“You’re joking?”

“She has the Polaroid photo to prove it.”

“I would love to see that.”

Her smile tightened, and her eyes shifted away. “Yeah, sure. So have you been to a wrestling match before?”

He nodded. “Yeah, I took a friend when I was in Phoenix and they were in town for a live broadcast. She wasn’t into it, though.”

The rest of her body tightened. Aaron wanted to curse. Bringing up other women wasn’t very smart. Normally he left out conversations of the female friends he kept. He’d let his guard down, since he felt as if he were talking to a friend. Aaron pushed the hair away from her face and held the back of her head. “You know, I’m in town for a few weeks. I’d like to see you again.”

She shook her head. “Let’s not start making promises or anything. Tonight was fun.”

“And we could have more fun.”

Her brow quirked up then down. “Yeah, sure.”

Aaron admitted he wasn’t looking for a relationship. And he definitely didn’t want a repeat of the situation with Denise. He hated to think of his ex, but the easy feeling he got with Kacey was how things had started with Denise. He wasn’t any more ready to settle into anything serious now than he had been back then.

He pulled her head closer. “You’re right. Let’s not talk about tomorrow when we still have the rest of tonight to enjoy each other.” He pressed his lips to hers. Kissing her was addictive.

He leaned in for more, but she pushed him onto his back and straddled his waist. She sat up with a wickedly delicious grin on her face.

“Ready to redeem yourself?” She reached over for one of the condoms on the nightstand.

“Redeem myself, huh? I thought you enjoyed the act?”

“I did.” She opened the foil packet with her teeth. “But I’d wager I can get the same result out of you.”

Aaron’s heart revved like an overheated engine. “Oh, really?”

She slowly slid the condom over his dick. “Really.” Her voice became a throaty whisper.

“Give me your best?”

The decadent smile returned before she slowly impaled herself. Her mouth fell open in a silent sigh, and Aaron’s hands gripped her waist.
Damn, she feels so good.

Her hips twisted, and her miraculous body squeezed him tight, bringing to mind those Chinese finger handcuffs he used to play with as a kid. He’d never be able to look at the toy again without thinking of her.

“Get ready to get it.” Her body moved up and down, her slick sex squeezed him hard, and her small breasts bounced beautifully. The intense pleasure made his toes curl and his eyes cross. She was likely to win this round as well.

Chapter 7

Kacey woke slowly, contentment flowing through every pore of her being. Bright sunlight created a red glow behind her closed eyelids. Her body sank into the soft mattress, the thick, fluffy comforter cocooning her in warmth. She liked mornings like this. No rush to get up. Just lying in bed, enjoying a slow wake up. Satisfied and content with a man’s arm around her waist.

Her eyes popped open. The events of the night before hit her with an
oh shit
intensity. She was slowly and happily waking up with a stranger in a hotel room.

She eased toward the edge of the bed. The strong arm around her tightened and pulled her closer. Crap, how had she ended up with a cuddler for a one-night stand? He settled back down and softly snored. The stiff length of his morning erection pressed into her behind. Desire twisted low in her stomach. The memory of one of the best nights of sex she’d ever had replaced the
oh shit
feeling. That definitely meant it was time for her to get the hell out of the hotel room.

Kacey twisted her head to better see the clock on the nightstand. Eight forty-seven, damn! She was supposed to be at her momma’s at nine to help her go over the layout for the new menu and then meet with her professor at ten to go over her thesis proposal. This was not the time for a lazy awakening in the arms of a stranger, no matter how nice and comforting having his muscled arm wrapped around her midsection felt.

Kacey held her breath and eased his arm from around her waist. He sighed and rolled over onto his back. She peeked over her shoulder and softly exhaled when he didn’t wake. He did a little twist of his nose, the movement reminding her of a rabbit, before his lips parted and he let out another soft snore. She smiled. He was very cute. His curly fro was messed up, and the shadow of a beard from the night before had thickened even more. The sheets covered most of his chest, but she remembered the strong, lean muscles covering his entire body. Definitely a one-night stand worth remembering. After she escaped without any awkward good-byes.
