Dylan and Taylor (Soul Mates 101 Series) (18 page)

“Taylor, please look at me.” I slowly open my eyes.

“I thought your whimpers, moans and giggles were the sweetest sounds to my ears, but those words coming off your lips … there’s no music I’ve played or listened to as wonderful as your voice saying those three little words. I love you, and I can’t tell you how happy I am to know you already feel it, too.”

We kiss again, but this time it’s slow, gentle and full of love. “Will you take a shower with me?” I ask as I play with his hair that’s grown a little longer around his ears. He pulls me closer and entwines my legs with his before he gives me his boyish grin.

“Haven’t I exhausted you yet? I can’t promise to behave if I’m naked with you in a shower.”

“Hell no, sweetie. I’m just getting started.” I lean up and kiss his neck.

“You’re getting me hard again, Taylor. I’m putting a damn condom on before we get in that shower.”

“I want to know who you planned to use all these condoms on.” I squeeze his butt, and he jumps.

“I was secretly hoping it would be you, my rocker girl.”

“Oh, you’re such a flirt, but I love you.”

Cupid’s Arrow

Dylan

I’m in a state of euphoria I didn’t know existed. I want time to stand still, but then again, I’m greedy. I want more, need more—I’m hooked. I had no idea being in love felt this good. It’s going to take great effort to focus on anyone or anything else, but I’ve got to try.

When my feet hit the great room, Hannah, Chelsea, Morgan and Jasmine are watching a movie, but they all turn their attention to me. Grins appear, and they start giggling.

“Dang, chicks. I didn’t think anyone could be happier than me, but you all look pretty damn chipper.”

“We’re happy for you and Taylor, goofball, and for the record, this cabin might be enormous but not enough to escape the sounds coming from her room today,” Hannah says.

They’re all snickering, and I feel my face heating up.

Morgan pushes Hannah’s shoulder. “No way, Hannah, you made Dylan blush.”

“Shit, I’m in trouble then. I still have to face the guys.”

“Yes, and they are locked and loaded. I seriously doubt you are anymore,” Chelsea jokes. The girls cackle until they’re cryin’.

“Oh, chick. I’m gettin’ Austin to give you a good tickling.”

I take my hat off and put it back on again. “By the way, I um ... I told Taylor.”

“Told her what?” Jasmine asks with a sly smile.

“You all know what, and I’m not saying it to ya.” They’re embarrassing the crap out of me. “I guess I’ll go face the music.” I walk into the game room. Brett and Matt are playing pool while Austin and Cody play on the PlayStation 3.

“What’s up?” I ask.

“Obviously you, and obviously all fucking day,” Matt says, sounding very annoyed.

“I can’t argue with that. Sorry, but she’s been missing out for a few years. I had to bring her up to speed.” I start thinking of her straddling me in my ball cap and what miracles she can work with that mouth of hers. “I should say it’s been the other way around. I would’ve been praying for love every day if I had known the sex would be this awesome. What a mind fuck. I had no idea.”

“I didn’t think sex could get better with Chelsea, but the longer we’re together, the more we know what the other likes, so it’s damn amazing,” Austin says.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Jasmine and me. She’s a freak in bed, and it’s always fun and games with her, but I can’t tell what the hell she wants as far as a relationship.”

“Don’t expect to know what she wants, Cody, she’s a damn woman. Do you want to finish this game, Dylan? Now that you two aren’t burning my ears, I’m going to go lie down,” Matt says.

He leaves the room, and I look around at each of my friends who seemed unnerved by his behavior. “Is someone going to tell me what I’ve missed today? Matt’s being a jackass.”

Cody pauses his game and turns around to speak.

“Morgan chewed his ass after you went upstairs earlier today. She lost it when she heard you say that you love Taylor. Matt hasn’t said it to her, so she’s pissed. Jasmine said Morgan moved her shit to another room and is about to put him on the road.”

Brett hits a stripe into the side pocket. “I knew it was going to blow up soon, and I don’t know what the hell he expects. He’s the one who told me not to lead girls on when I was first dating Hannah, yet he’s been doing that to Morgan for months.”

“I know he loves her, or he wouldn’t have stayed with her this long,” I say.

“He does love her, but I guess he’s going to have to lose her to realize it. I’m hoping he gets his head out of his ass and proves me wrong,” Brett adds.

Taylor

I plop down in a chair to talk to the girls. “Hi, what have you all been doing today?”

“I can’t believe you can even sit down, Taylor,” Chelsea says, snickering.

I throw a pillow at her. “You are awful.”

“You’ve got it coming, girl. We figured Dylan was good in bed from his experience, but damn, if he can make you moan like that, then I should have went after him,” Jasmine says.

I stop smiling. I don’t want to envision Dylan with any other woman—ever.

“I’m playin’, Taylor, Geez.”

“Sorry, but the moaning was the furthest thing from my mind,” I say, fighting a huge grin.

“That good, huh?” Morgan asks.

“Yes, that good. I need to come up with a word to put in the dictionary that means ‘mind blowing sex with Dylan Dressner.” I stare off, recalling our time in the shower.

“Snap out of it, girlfriend. He’s not going anywhere,” Morgan says snippy.

“What’s wrong, Morgan? You sound irritated. I’m sorry we were loud.”

Morgan’s eyes fill with tears. Jasmine’s sitting next to her on the couch, and I watch her grab Morgan’s hand.

“Dylan told you he loved you, didn’t he?” Jasmine asks.

“Yes, how do you know that?”

“Dylan told us a few minutes ago, but earlier today, when he came down to get lunch, he said he loved you,” she replies.

Chelsea tosses the pillow back at me. “But we never thought he’d get the nerve to tell you so quickly.”

“I told him first, so then he said it back, but it’s such a relief to know he intended on telling me. What does that have to do with you, Morgan?”

Tears fall to her cheeks. “Matt hasn’t said it yet, and Dylan’s the last of the guys I expected to fall in love so quickly, so to hear him say it stung. I confronted Matt on the spot about it, but he didn’t say a word and hasn’t tried to talk to me about it even though he knows I’m upset.”

“I’m sorry, Morgan. He should’ve said it months ago. I truly believe he loves you,” I say.

“It’s just time for me to find someone who wants to show me in a way other than sex. To think all this time I thought you had the wall up, Taylor. I didn’t want to accept that Matt’s is the thickest of all.

“I’m starting to think he stays with me because he can get sex when he wants it without having to go look for it at the bars. He conveniently showed interest in me about the time he lost his wingman.”

Hannah rubs Morgan’s leg. “I swear I don’t think that’s it. Brett says he believes Matt loves you.”

“I guess we’ll know soon when he hears my ultimatum.”

“You’re wonderful, Morgan, and whether it’s Matt or not, in the end you’ll be with a man who loves you because you’re strong, and I know you won’t settle for less,” I say.

Morgan walks over and hugs me. “Taylor, I’m so glad you’re back to the girl I knew years ago, and you’re even happier. I’m upset about Matt, but I’m beyond happy for you and Dylan.”

“Girls, I think it’s time to order pizza and get this last party started. I’m determined we’re having a fun night,” Hannah says.

Dylan

Hannah comes into the game room. I see her look at Austin and Cody on the PS3. “Babe, will you and Dylan go pick up pizzas? The place won’t deliver here.”

“Sure, we need more beer, anyway. We’ll be out there in a few minutes.”

“Thanks,” Hannah says before she leaves the room.

Brett pats his stomach. “My body is telling me to get back to only drinking some on the weekend and to get to the damn gym.”

“I’m getting all the exercise I need right now,” I say.

Brett smirks. “I think you and I lucked out with the girls.”

Cody pauses the game and turns around. “Did you not hear me say that Jasmine is a freak in bed?”

“Yeah, but she’s not yours,” Brett says.

“Doesn’t matter since I’m still gettin’ it right now, and I think I’m going to ask her to only date me. Maybe we need to swap stories to see who has the best girl in bed.”

“Hell no, I don’t even want you having an image of Taylor doing the things she’s already done.”

“I’m with Dylan on this one,” Brett adds.

“Me too. I share, but there’s a fine line there on how much. If the shit got back to the girls, then they’d cut us off,” Austin says.

Cody looks back at us again. “I’m not buyin’ it. I bet they talk details, and one of us needs to find out.”

“That can be your next question when we play quarters, douche bag,” I say.

Brett and I leave to get the pizzas. “Cody has to fall in love, or he’s going to be on my last nerve. He doesn’t get it.”

Brett laughs. “I wish you could hear yourself, man. I have to ask you something why we’re alone. What the hell happened to you and Taylor when you were stranded?”

“All I’ll say is I had to keep her warm for a lot of hours. I don’t think anyone realizes how cold we were. No matter how much she pissed me off, all I could focus on was protecting her.

“Once I had her that close to me ... I knew I had to have her. She let her guard down enough for me to see a sweet side. I can’t share more than that, but it’s a night I won’t ever forget or regret.”

“That was beautiful, man,” Brett says, pretending to wipe away tears before he grabs my shoulder.

“Oh shut up, asshole.”

“I’m genuinely happy for you two. I hope you stay together. I really do, man.”

“It’s scary shit. I can’t get her out of my head, and I don’t think I could ever get enough of her, and I mean ever.”

“Damn, Dylan, you’re in deep.”

“Has it changed for you and Hannah? It sure doesn’t seem like it.”

“Only for the better. I’ll never get enough of her, either, and honestly, it’s like Austin said. The more I love her, and the more comfortable we get with each other, the better the sex is.”

“Don’t tell me that, man. I already thought my heart was going to stop a couple of times. I can’t imagine sex getting any better than this.”

“I’m still going with the idea you two were abducted by aliens that night you were stranded. For you to go from cringing to being within spitting distance of each other to this is unbelievable.”

“I always wanted her, and I believe now she wanted me. We’re both just stubborn and passionate. Damn, what’s happening to me?”

Brett laughs, and I make him swear not to tell our buddies what I’ve said.

Taylor’s a lefty, so I’m able to hold her hand under the table while we eat our salad and pizza. I feel like I’m in middle school, and I don’t care. I’m sick in love. We keep looking at each other and smiling as if no one’s around.

“It’s too weird watching you two together,” Cody says from across the table.

“It’s love, buddy. You should try it.” I smirk as I look into Taylor’s eyes. After dinner, I drag her into the hallway where we shared our first heated kiss and wrap her up in my arms.

“I’m already craving you again, especially your taste. You taste so good, and I’m not just talking about this mouth of yours.” I run the pad of my thumb across her bottom lip.

She tries to free herself from my grip. “Stop, Dylan, you’re getting me really turned on, and you’re the one who said we need to visit with our friends tonight. Cody hasn’t been as pleasant to me lately. Go keep him company, so he’ll stop pouting.”

“OK, but don’t think for a second that I won’t be fantasizing about my tongue on you,” I whisper in her ear.

She pulls herself away and grins. “God, Dylan, you can be so exhausting sometimes.”

I yank her back into my arms, thrusting my tongue into her mouth, giving her a lustful kiss. It’s so hot when she gives me attitude. “Don’t even start your shit again, chick.” I grab hold of her bottom lip, pulling it between my teeth.

“I love you,” she says after I let her lip go.

“I love you, too, sunshine, now give me some damn space. You’re smothering me,” I say, dunking my head in case she tries to hit me.

“Dylan!”

I weasel around her and run through the cabin. She chases me, but I spin around right when she catches up. I put her to the ground and straddle her, tickling her hard. She squeals, and I finally stop when I see she can barely get her breath.

“I’ll get you back for this. You just wait and see.” She looks up at me as I hold her wrists and stare down at her. I feel the lust surging between us, so I jump up and pull her up by her hand. I give her a quick peck on the cheek and go straight into the game room without a backward glance, or I’ll be carrying her up to her room.

One Last Hurrah

Taylor

After Dylan walks away from me, I look over to find all my girlfriends staring at me.

Chelsea shakes her head. “It’s too bizarre watching you and Dylan joke around. Let’s not even talk about the sizzling heat. It’s been obvious since you met that you wanted to jump each other’s bones. You’ve been falling in love for months but couldn’t get along long enough to see it.”

“We haven’t seen you interact that much while getting along, and I have to agree with Chelsea, it’s weird. Now we have
heard
plenty of your interactions,” Hannah says, giggling.

I shake my finger at them. “I heard my share of moans from all you girls earlier in this trip, and I’d probably still be hearing them if I wasn’t so engrossed in my own pleasure.

“Hey, guys, Taylor’s out here saying something about pleasure and moans,” Cody yells back as he walks into the great room. Dylan comes strolling in with a sly grin on his face.

“So, sunshine, what are you sharing out here?”
