Aaron saw confusion flash across her face. “You are supposed to be in
England
.” Stammering now, she finally seemed fearful.

“Your brother, he is still alive?”

Aaron had
enough;
it had been a long three days. Shifting

he jumped to his feet hauling her up with him

ever releasing his fingers from around her neck
,
he dragged her toward the manor.

“Please, don’t! Kill me now
,
Aaron! I beg of you!!”

Stunned
,
he
looked down at her. She was terrified
,
and she was serious in wanting to die. Her already pale skin seemed to have gone even paler.

“Talk, then maybe I will take mercy on you and kill you.”

Speaking rapidly now
,
as if she was running out of time, she looked him directly in his eyes.

“I was sent from one that knew you and your brother a long time ago. An ancient oracle spoke of a possible redemption for your brother’s soul
,
and that he was to be killed before the redemption was to take place. It seems I am too late?”

Aaron nodded his head.

Grabbing his arms, she tightened her fingers digging into his skin her voice lowering to a whisper. “Please kill me
,
vampire -
I beg you.”

No longer filled with the rage of a few minutes ago, Aaron fel
t compassion for her.

“I will not kill you now. It seems our destiny is now entwined, you are more useful to me alive than dead.”

“You have no idea what will be coming after you

and not just you but every person that you love. Are you ready for battle?”

Gooseflesh broke over his skin at her words

and he felt a deep sense of foreboding
once again

voice was clipped and icy as dark r
