Double Her Pleasure (8 page)

“Bullshit.” Garret threw a pointed finger at
Trey and advanced on him. “You’re making shit up because you...” He
stopped suddenly and a look of comprehension softened his features.
“Yeah, goddamn. I guess I did.” He stuffed his hands in his back
pockets. “Sorry, baby.”

Megan tugged at Trey’s arm. “He was going to
tell you this morning.” She looked at his brother. “Garret, I told
him I instigated it.”

“You don’t have to cover for me, Megan.”
Garret stood tall. “I was wrong to keep it from him. Should have
told him right away.”

Fury burned through Trey and he took a step
forward. “No. You were wrong to storm out of the kitchen before we
finished the conversation yesterday.” He took another step and
clenched his fist. “You were wrong to take advantage of Megan’s
willingness to—”

“Hold on.” She grabbed his arm again. “No one
took advantage. It just...escalated.” Her voice dropped. “Beyond
where I thought I could stop.”

Trey didn’t blame Megan. He didn’t blame
Garret, either. Shit, Trey planned to take a long horseback ride
with her today and sex the hell out of her. It was just that Garret
refused to discuss one-on-ones, then went ahead and did it anyway.
That’s what chapped his hide.

“You’ve gone and done it now, big brother.”
Garret’s eyes narrowed and his lips thinned. “You’ve made her feel
bad about something that you wanted in the goddamn first
place.”

“It wouldn’t have happened at all if you’d
stuck to the fucking rules that you set.” He shouted the last
words. Frustration and guilt bubbled together inside him, and he
needed release.

He pointed that damn finger at Trey again.
“You started all this.”

Trey pulled off his hat and sent it sailing a
few yards away. “Then I’ll finish it.” He lifted his fists.

Garret threw his hat too, and cracked his
knuckles. “You got it.”

His brother had to be feeling the same need
for release, the same dark thrill that Trey felt. It’d been too
long since they’d pummeled each other. It always ended in a draw,
and afterward, they headed to the beer tapper in the garage where
they talked about the fight until everything was even again.

They’d never fought in front of anyone,
though. Especially not a lady. He turned his head to see her
expression.

She stood, her arms folded under her breasts,
her head tipped, a frown curving her lips.

Trey dropped his fists. “You’re not going to
stop us?” He thought she’d be flinging herself between them.

“No, I’m not.” She gestured with one hand.
“Do what you have to do.”

Garret laughed. “Oh, yeah? You wanna see us
fight?”

She huffed out a breath. “No, I do not want
to see you fight. Although, I’m angry enough at each of you to
think you deserve a little bruising.” She dropped her arms. “You’ve
each got a burr under your saddle, so you may as well duke it out
and get it over and done with.”

Trey looked at his brother.

Garret looked back at him. “What the hell do
you make of that?”

Trey lost his anger as well as his interest
in taking out his frustration on his brother. He took a step toward
her. “Sweetheart, you’re sounding a heck of a lot like a true Texas
woman right now.”

Garret’s grin flashed. “Sure is.” He walked
closer. “Let’s take her back to the house and give her a real Texas
‘howdy, ma’am’.”

She backed up, looking between the two of
them, then her smile broke out. “I don’t think so. Remember, I’m
mad at you two.”

“We’ll make it up to you.” Trey winked and
reached for her.

Turning, Megan ran a few steps before Garret
grabbed her around the waist.

“Forgive us?” His brother nibbled on her
neck.

Trey glanced around, making sure no one was
near. He walked in front of her and took her chin in his hand,
tipping her face up.

Her eyes were dark, her breath fast, and her
nipples pointed hard through her shirt.

His cock responded with a rush of blood.
“Yeah, this’ll be our first make-up sex.” He kissed her, fast and
wild. “We’re all gonna get ourselves forgiven real good.”

Megan laughed. “I don’t even know what that
means, but it sounds pretty hot, cowboy.”

Garret groaned. “He means the sex is going to
be crazy. So crazy wild, it’ll have you begging us to do stupid
shit more often, just so we can have more make-up sex.”

“I want that.” She pushed at Trey’s chest and
he stepped back. When she unwound Garret’s arms from around her, he
moved away a few inches, too. She looked at them both. “But first,
we need to sit and talk for an hour or so. Go over everything
that’s happened until we understand each other’s thoughts on this.”
She took a few steps back.

Trey’s erection said different, but he didn’t
want to be a caveman and tell her all that talking wasn’t going to
happen. He sure didn’t have to like it, though.

She kept walking backward, giving them a sad
face.

“You for real?” Garret cut right to the
point. “We gotta talk?”

With a grin, she said, “Not if you can catch
me before I get to the house.” She spun and ran, laughing like a
kid.

Trey looked at his brother whose surprised
expression had to mirror his own. They broke out laughing.

Trey scratched his jaw. “Looks like we gotta
catch our woman.”

Garret jogged over, picked up their hats, and
tossed Trey’s at him. “On foot or in your truck?”

The sound of the four-wheeler starting and
driving off reached them.

“Truck.” Trey sprinted to the second barn
with Garret hard on his heels. Within seconds, they were racing
after her. When they crossed the bridge, he took the truck
off-road, passed her, then skidded to a halt in front of the
mudroom door.

She shut off the motor and swung her leg over
as Trey and Garret jumped out of the truck and ran toward her.

Shrieking with laughter, Megan made a try for
the house, but Trey got to her and tossed her over his shoulder.
His damn caveman urge came back with a vengeance. Her weight
testing his muscles, her scent in his nose, her soft flesh pressing
into his shoulder. She was his, his and Garret’s. His cock jumped
with the blood rushing to it.

“Trey.” She caught her breath. “Inez...”

He glanced at the driveway. “Her car’s
gone.”

Garret led the way to the house and opened
the door.

Trey carried her through the kitchen, past
the table with her shopping bags and a vase of flowers, then up the
stairs. Through her pants, her thigh heated the palm of his
hand.

Walking up the steps behind them, Garret
asked, “Have we got that stupid
talking
idea out of your
head, Megan?” He chuckled. “Or do we need to do some more
convincin’?”

“You know how stubborn I am. You’ll never
convince me.” She giggled. “Not in a million—”

Trey swatted her ass. “How’s that for a
start, woman?” Trey hoped she’d need a little more persuasion. When
she wiggled, he smacked her firm butt again. “This is going to be
fun.” He walked into his bedroom and tossed Megan on the bed.

Standing over her, he set his fists on his
hips. “We’re gonna show you just how convincing your men can
be.”

She bit her lip and gave him a wicked smile.
“Mmm, yes. Show me.” She touched the point of her nipple through
her shirt.

“Hold on, baby. It’s gonna get wild.” Garret
closed the doors. And locked them.

****

An hour later, Garret opened his eyes. He’d
had the most intense orgasms of his life after he and Trey took
turns spanking a very receptive Megan and “fucking some sense into
her,” as his brother had joked.

She’d had four screaming climaxes. Then, just
to please her, they’d spent a few minutes talking, and now she
stood in the shower, rinsing off with Trey.

Garret yawned and the scent of whatever Inez
had cooking in the oven snuck into his nostrils. His stomach rolled
like thunder. Jumping up, he tugged on his jeans and bolted down
the stairs. Goddamn, he couldn’t get enough of home cooking.

As he pulled the dish of her special
enchiladas out of the oven, he sent Inez a mental hug. His
favorite. He dished up a pile and stood looking out over the land,
blowing on the chow to cool it down.

He missed the ranch. He missed Inez. Yeah,
his brother too, if he had to admit it. But holy shit, he’d miss
Megan more than anything if he took the movie he’d been offered.
Filming in New Zealand, he wouldn’t get home until the shoot
finished. It was the chance of a lifetime for him, playing a
detective instead of his usual gun-slinging, car-smashing,
fist-fighting alpha man.

Megan’s laughter trickled down the stairs
followed by Trey’s, then their footsteps as they got closer. If he
could, he’d bring her with him to the location.

That wasn’t an option.

During their talk, they’d discussed the new
arrangement. Megan could be with each of them separately. When she
and Trey had first mentioned it, the whole deal hadn’t made sense
to him. After last night on the ATV, things became clearer. Now,
with everyone in agreement, he couldn’t wait to get her alone
again.

But it was Trey’s turn.

Trey walked into the kitchen. “You alone in
here?”

“Yep.” He said it around a mouthful of the
tastiest food he’d had in months, with the exception of yesterday’s
meal.

Megan peeked into the kitchen then walked in
wearing only her underwear and bra. “I left my bags down here.” She
plucked them off the kitchen table and leaned toward the vase of
red and white roses in the center of it. The way her ass curved in
those slinky panties, made his mouth water and his shaft lunge
toward her.

“I’ll be right down. And thanks for the
flowers.” She hauled her bags out of the room and up the
stairs.

Trey’s brow wrinkled as he looked at the
vase.

The forkful of food Garret had been about to
put into his mouth dropped back onto his plate. “You bring her
flowers?”

“No.” Trey glanced at him. “You didn’t
either, huh?”

He shook his head and set down his plate.
Searching through the greenery, he didn’t find a card.

Trey went to the trashcan and pulled out a
box, cellophane, and a ribbon. “Fuck.”

His gut dropped. “Who the hell...”

Megan’s booted footsteps sounded on the
steps.

Trey stuffed the trash back into the can.
“Let’s not get her worried if it’s nothing.”

“Yeah. You two go on your ride. I’ll tell
security to be on high alert, just in case. I’ll question Inez and
the security guard in the receiving shack.” The building stood by
the main road, and nobody and nothing got by it without
approval.

“Check the video of today’s deliveries. It
should show who brought them.” Trey looked like he wanted to take
charge of the investigation.

“I got this, brother.” He stepped closer and
lowered his voice. “Take your sat phone so I can let you know what
I find out.” The satellite phone was the only way to reach someone
once they left the area right around the ranch buildings.

“If he found her because of that tabloid in
Chicago...” Trey rubbed his temple.

“Let’s not jump, brother.”

Chapter Eight

Megan entered the room, her boots clomping on
the tile floor. “What are you two so deep in conversation about?”
She set her new red hat on the bench by the door and hiked up her
new work jeans. She’d thrown a red plaid long-sleeved shirt over
her tank top.

Garret forced a grin. “Plannin’ what we’re
gonna do to you tonight. All night.”

She laughed and stepped in between them.
“Keep it a secret. I want to be surprised.”

Trey met his gaze above her head.

Garret nodded. The second they were out the
door, he’d be on it. As he got plates for Megan to fill for herself
and Trey, Garret thought back to the decision he’d been trying to
make before they came downstairs. Hell, he didn’t have to go to New
Zealand to play a detective. He’d be doing it live, right here on
the Silver Spur.

Dinner almost had Garret forgetting about the
weird flowers, with Megan asking questions about the ranch and
horseback riding. When she and Trey left, a backpack of water
bottles and snacks over his brother’s shoulder, Garret waited until
the ATV carried them over the bridge toward the horse barn before
digging in the trash.

The box didn’t have a florist’s name on it,
but there was a card that had the names “Megan” and “Silver Spur”
scribbled on it. Strange.

Grabbing his hat and keys, he opened the door
from the kitchen into the garage. The light snapped on. He smiled.
His dark blue convertible sat at the end, past Trey’s new
pickup.

Hell, this wasn’t a joy ride. He leaned back
into the kitchen and hung his keys on their assigned hook, then
pressed the button to open the garage door. He’d take Trey’s new
truck for a test-drive and save the sleek sports car for a night
out with Megan.

His first stop was Inez’s house. She welcomed
him with cookies and coffee. “I received the box of flowers from
the security man, the cute one with the space between his
teeth?”

Garret shrugged. “If you say so.” He bit into
one of her amazing peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and sipped
dark, bitter coffee. “There was no note? Nothing else?”

“No.” She sat forward on her chair, looking
worried. “Is something wrong?”

He didn’t want to upset her, but she should
know there was a possible threat. He took her hand. “Megan had a
stalker back in Canada.”

“Oh no.” She blinked rapidly.

“We don’t know if the flowers have anything
to do with—”

“Red and white.” Inez’s eyes narrowed.

Was she losing it? “Huh?”

Leaning forward, she grasped his forearm in a
surprisingly strong grip. “The flowers are red and white. The
colors of the Canadian flag.”
