One month later…
H
arper stood next to Dodge as he sat in his office chair.
The seating chart for their wedding had been pushed aside for a hurriedly sketched out three-month calendar. They

d been talking about dates, but all that had tapered off as soon as he
’
d slipped one hand under her knee-length skirt. Heart pounding, she watched the door, knowing that his large desk
blocked what they were doing…or might be doing in a second…from view. Her breath caught when his fingers glided another half inch up her inner thigh. He kept talking about likely dates and listing pros and cons, but all she could think about was how much longer it would take him to walk his fingers up from the inside of her thigh to where she really wanted him to be. Another half inch up. She bit down on her lip, the anticipation swirling in her stomach, and her eyes drifted shut so she could concentrate more on the tingling sensation in her core.
A sharp
rap
sounded at the door. She snapped her eyes open, and Dodge removed his teasing fingers from her leg. Griff sauntered in, Stone a step behind.
“What
’
s up?
” Griff asked.
“We
’
re putting together an office pool,” Harper blurted out as she hurried away from the desk and the temptation Dodge offered.
Stone cocked an eyebrow. “For what?”
“To see which one of you two is up next and when you go down.” Dodge
’
s voice dripped with the kind of glee that only came with tormenting younger brothers.
It had taken her a few weeks, but once she realized the Loving brothers communicated via snark and expressed love by giving each other shit, their close relationship began to make sense.
“No,” Stone and Griff said at the same time.
“My money
’
s on Stone.” Harper slapped a five-dollar bill onto the table by the office door.
Dodge got up, removing his wallet as he walked over to her, took out his wallet and withdrew a five. “I
’
ll take that bet because I
’
m going with Griff. Mom likes a challenge.” He dropped his money next to hers.
Standing so close to him made her pulse tick faster, reminding her exactly of what had been about to happen before his brothers knocked on the door. “And you don
’
t think you were enough of a challenge?”
“When it comes to finding the perfect match for these two?” He nodded his chin at his brothers. “I was just the warm-up act.”
The brothers looked at each other, both wearing identical expressions of horror and fear.
“I
’
m telling her I found the perfect girl for you,” Stone said.
“Not if I get to her first,” Griff replied.
Stone and Griff scrambled out of Dodge
’
s office fast enough that she would have laughed if her attention hadn
’
t already gone back to the man who had stolen far more than just her focus. Dodge Loving had stolen her heart.
“A warm-up act, huh?”
She shut his office door.
“So what do you do for the main event?”
Desire swirled in his eyes, and he dropped his gaze to her mouth before reaching around her and locking his office door. “Let me show you.”
And he did.
