Her hand went to her side, and she tried to crane round to see. Which hurt. Quite a lot. At her sharp intake of breath, which hurt even more, Tenset sighed.
“For a medic you’re not good at diagnosing yourself are you?” He smiled gently at her. “Let me look. The number of scraps I got into with my friends as a youngster means I’m somewhat of an expert on this sort of thing. Sorry, this might hurt a bit.”
She gritted her teeth as he knelt in front of her and probed the area with gentle fingers.
“Maybe cracked, but probably just bruised. This should help.” He reached up and pushed the robe back off her shoulders and started to wind the makeshift bandages he’d rapidly torn from the sheet around her body.
Unfortunately as he kneeled in front of her, wrapping the cloth around and around, his warm breath hit her belly, and his eyes and lips where on the same level as her breasts. She soon found she was gritting her teeth for an entirely different reason. Then his lips brushed her nipple. She almost gasped, but managed to stop before it caused any rib pain. Her hands planted themselves in his thick silky hair, holding him to her.
“God Chesara, I want you so much, but we shouldn’t. We don’t have the time, and you’re hurt.” He pulled back, stood up.
She caught her bottom lip between her teeth as her hand brushed over her belly, hoping to encourage him to do the same.
“Now sweetheart, you heard what I said, that truly isn’t a good idea.” But he didn’t complain when she stepped back into his arms to greedily take his mouth again. His taste and scent washed over her. Earthy and masculine she couldn’t get enough. Chesara felt the now familiar hunger starting to consume her mind and body. Instinctively she knew he felt the same and deep down she accepted that this was likely the last time they would be together.
Pressing her lips against his, she tried to imprint him, the feel, scent sight and taste of him into her memory. She reached for his shirt, starting to unbutton it before he took over, ripping it apart so they could both feel her breasts rub against his bare flesh. Tenset’s hands roamed over her body, from her backside to her neck, gentle over her injury. She vaguely heard him murmur, ‘I need more hands,’ before she was eased carefully back onto the bed. Her eyes widened as he released his cock, and as she reached for him, he grabbed her wrists with a warning look.
“You, my brave little warrior, are going to lay back, do nothing, and enjoy this.” His eyes sparkled with fierce passion.
Chesara couldn’t handle it, the need was burning her up. She wiggled on the bed trying to press her sex up against that fine erection, but he smacked her thigh sharply while he claimed a nipple. She moaned in ecstasy. His mouth was hot against her skin, and it sent shivers down her whole body. His other hand dropped lower. Her thighs already hung open, begging for attention.
Unlike the first time, she knew he wouldn’t play her for long. She tried to enjoy the anticipation, but her desire was already ruling her body as well as conscious thought.
“Tenset please.”
“I love it when you beg, when you tremble in my arms,” he whispered before his fingers plunged inside her.
“Now, I need you so much.”
He roughly grabbed hips with strong hands, moving her backside to the end of the bed so he wouldn’t put any pressure on her ribs. He knelt on the floor between her thighs, her legs wrapping around him. He entered her as if he had all the time in the world, as if he were trying to capture the moment forever. He thrust slowly three or four times, then plunged in as far as he could, hitting that unique part of her.
Chesara’s eyes flew open as the sensation ricocheted inside her body. She thrust her hips up, despite the pain in her side trying to draw him in even more as she felt herself pulse around his hardness. He stilled her movements with another smack to her backside, and then thrust inside her again and again, his balls slapping against her as he worked. She kept her eyes open to watch his pleasure in her, fixing it in her memory. His cheeks were dark with effort, his eyes low lidded. She couldn’t remember ever having seen a sexier sight.
Tightened his grip on her hips, he thrust into her with even more power. As he started to lose control, his movement became hard and unforgiving, pounding into her. Both her clit and the special place inside her started to pulse at the same time. Tenset obviously felt it too, and he strained against her as they reached for something powerful together.
Her body didn’t merely rise to a peak, she shattered, exploding into a thousand pieces. As she came, her sex gripped him, the end of her channel vibrating as she milked him, and he pushed in impossibly deep and spurted again and again till he was left trembling above her.
A knock at the door made them both freeze, adrenaline spiking in both of them.
“If you’re finished with your ‘goodbyes,’ I seriously think we should get moving,” said an obviously amused Connor. They both relaxed grinning like school kids caught kissing in a cupboard. The door started to open, and Tenset hastily withdrew from Chesara, but all that came around the door was a guards uniform.
“I thought this might be easier for travelling than a bath robe, Kittycat.”
Tenset took the offered clothing and thanked the hand before throwing the clothes back as Chesara. He did up his trousers and his shirt before leaning over to give her a kiss. He helped her into the clothes when she winced trying to put her arm in the shirt. He shot her a classic Tenset grin and wink before leaving.
A few minutes later, conscious of the time she’d ‘wasted’ with Tenset, she emerged from his room in the guards uniform, rolled up and belted as best as she could to make it fit. The wide belt reinforced the bandages making her ribs feel protected and stable. The lack of flexibility was a small price to pay. She brought the blanket from the bed, figuring it might be useful on the trail. She’d never ‘roughed it’ before and honestly didn’t know what would be useful and what wouldn’t. But she didn’t fancy sleeping on the ground without a blanket. Not that she fancied sleeping on the ground at all.
The two men sniggered as she flopped into the interrogation room, trying to hold the gigantic trousers up whilst maintaining her hold on the blanket.
“Ha ha. Yes it’s ‘who shrunk the guard’ time. Laugh it up, boys.”
She noticed that Connor was still shirtless, but had managed to clean some of the blood off, but the sight of his still raw wounds reminded her that she needed to finish healing him.
“Come over here, big guy. Time to fix you up properly. Your shirt will stick to you otherwise.”
Connor raised an eyebrow. “You sure you’re up to it?”
She gave him a ‘look’, so he walked over, turned and presented his back, knowing when he was beaten. A determined Chesara wasn’t someone to mess with.
“Do you want me to undo the pain thing when I’m done?”
“What pain thing?” asked Tenset as he came over. Connor replied with a smile as she had already started to work.
“She stopped my pain receptors, so Tamas couldn’t get his jollies. It pissed him off significantly when he worked it out.”
“That’d do it, was that when he,” Tenset waved vaguely in her direction, indicating her side. Connor nodded, he didn’t want to go into what had happened afterwards. Tamas’ attempt to rape him wasn’t something he wanted to discuss with the man’s nephew.
“Pain back on, yes?” At his nod, she moved round to his front.
“Lean down a little you big ox.” Reaching up made her side smart. When Connor leaned over, she placed a hand on his forehead and undid her earlier work, before giving him a quick kiss.
“Now, where are my clown shoes?” Tenset’s eye sparkled as he held out his boots. She eyed them with suspicion.
“No way are they going to fit.”
“It would be my greatest honour to help, Madam Envoy,” grinned Tenset as he performed a fancy bow.
She smiled sweetly at him.
“Why don’t you go sit on a spike my dear Lord Tenset?” She curtsied to him, holding out the jacket out as if it were a dress. Not easy in a guard’s uniform at least six times too big, with knackered ribs.
She was rewarded with a small round of applause from Connor, who was standing next to the bench where Tamas now lay, getting fully dressed in Tenset’s clothes, his own were cut to ribbons.
“Is he ok?” she asked, not being able to stop her healer instincts kicking in. She walked over to the unconscious man. Placing one hand on his forehead, and the other on his chest, she checked over his systems.
“I really don't believe you're doing that,” Tenset murmured as he pulled her away gently. “After what he’s done to you, you show him compassion?”
She shrugged. “It’s who I am, I can’t help it. I’m not just a pretty face, and a bloody good lay you know,” and she flounced off to put on the boots. She was secretly quite pleased with the way Tenset turned distinctly pink while she could see Connor suppressing a smile.
Their lack of jealousy puzzled her, but she was more than grateful that they weren’t bashing heads like deranged water buffalo over her any more.
She sat down gingerly on the chair and pushed a foot into one oversized boot. By pulling the laces as tight as she could they only felt four sized too big rather than the seven or eight they actually were.
“He’ll be fine by the way. I didn’t close the carotids enough to do any permanent damage. I’ve added a natural sedative to his system. He’ll probably pull out of it in around six to eight hours. Then he’ll be back to his normal psychopathic perverted self.”
“We’ll be long gone by then, don’t worry,” reassured Connor.
As Chesara was engrossed in tightening up her second boot, Connor moved over to Tenset.
“Don’t suppose you’d consider a permanent solution to the problem would you? It’d be a hell of a lot easier to just make out way back to the embassy from here.”
Tenset fixed him with a ‘what do you think’ look.
“He’s family. Besides, killing him won’t mean you can just waltz out of here. This place belonged to my father’s family, not his, and elsewhere he has an almost fanatical following. His death would cause a major incident, maybe even a civil war which is why the Harmon’s haven’t dealt with us themselves. I’d be happy to see him locked up and discredited, but not dead. Leave it alone Federation, before we fall out. I don’t think she’d like that.” He stalked off to check over the supplies they had managed to gather.
The supplies consisted of two blankets, a metal bucket, a large piece of tough oiled cloth, two broom handles, and some nasty sharp implements from Tamas’ bag of tricks.
Tenset produced some fruit, biscuits and a bottle of wine with a flourish, saying, “Only the best for my Lady,” which made Chesara snort, remembering the fancy dinner on the first night.
The men wrapped up the metal objects with the cloth to reduce noise and tied them into a single pack for Connor to carry.
“We look like we put on the wrong clothes in the dark,” Chesara said looking at Connor. The big man looked ridiculous in Tenset’s smaller clothes. In comparison, she looked like a child playing dress up. Tenset snorted, they did make an odd-looking couple.
“Well it’s not my fault you’re a dwarf, and he’s the size of a troll. You’ll look like something out of a fairy tale strutting down the road.”
“I do not strut,” said Connor in an offended tone that had Chesara clapping her hand over her mouth to prevent the loud laugh getting out.
“No fair, that hurts,” she gasped, holding her side.
“Right, are we ready?” said Tenset. At Connor’s nod, he reached for the door of the interrogation room.
Chesara stayed right where she was. The next step was to leave Tenset, something she couldn’t willingly bring her feet to do. Grabbing the packs, the men walked out the door. After a few moments, Connor’s head poked back round.
“You coming?” he asked, puzzled.
Tears started rolling down her face, and she angrily wiped at them, but her feet still wouldn’t move. Connor’s face disappeared, only to be replaced by Tenset. He crossed the room quickly and enfolded her in his arms, tucking her head under his chin.
“Shhhh little one, it’ll be fine. Where’s that fierce, cursing she-devil gone? I rather like her.”
“You patronizing, sanctimonious son of a Kackbad,” she managed to choke out between the tears. “Doesn’t your ego ever take a break?” His eyes twinkled for her, before he became intensely serious.
“Know this Chesara of Dakara, when I said you were mine, I meant it. I will move Heaven and Earth to find you, wherever you may be. You know my legendary ego will not let me fail,” and he smiled one of his devastating smiles for her.
“Going with your pet troll now, and me staying here, is the best chance you have of getting away, and for us to all meet up for a ‘happy ever after’ reunion. I already have quite a few ideas I want to try out.”
She sniffed loudly.
“Now let’s get you going before you either start using my sleeve as a snot rag, or I start wondering if I’ve inherited any of dear uncle Tamas’ urges. I’m starting to think significantly naughty thoughts about someone in a guard’s uniform.”
He propelled her out of the room with an arm about her shoulder.
Connor waited at the bottom of the steps to the main floor.
“Look after her Federation.” Tenset’s voice sounded half threatening, half pleading.
“I always have, and I always will. You have my word on it.” The two men shook hands solemnly.
“Oh get a move on you two great girls’ blouses, or I’ll start snivelling again.”
The two men gave her identical ‘that’s my girl,’ smiles, and after listening carefully for a moment Tenset carefully turned the key he’d taken from his uncle in the lock.
Chesara was buzzing with apprehension as they emerged into the entrance hall, which was as silent as the grave in the late afternoon sunlight. They walked as quietly as they could across the wide, white stone floor and Tenset opened the main doors.
As Connor checked the way was clear, Chesara managed to peck Tenset on the cheek.
“Promise you’ll never stop looking for me,” she whispered in his ear.
At his whispered, ‘Never, my love,’ she added ‘stay safe, I love you,’ before she turned and hurried after Connor. Knowing that if she didn’t move now, she’d never be able to leave the man that she’d only met a few short days ago, the man who held a part of her heart forever.
