Delphi Complete Works of Robert Burns (Illustrated) (Delphi Poets Series) (210 page)

Burns was buried in St. Michael’s kirkyard, Dumfries in 1796, after his early tragic death to Rheumatic Heart Fever, aged 37. His original modest grave was in the north-east corner of the old cemetery. In 1815, Burns’ remains were exhumed and transferred to a Mausoleum, constructed in the form of a Grecian temple in the same kirkyard as a more fitting and lasting memorial to the great poet.
