Shouting.
Tears.
Jared’s world collapsing.
His heart
bursting out of his skin.

Silence.

Alone.

“Hi,”
Fenix said. Jared took an instinctive step back only to find Adam’s chest
behind him. He could feel the low growling that had started in that same chest.
He had two choices – freak out and run, leaving Fenix alone with Adam, or keep
calm and politely ask Adam to leave, pretending like he didn’t just have the
biggest shock of his life.

While
Jared knew Fenix could hold his own in a fight and get a pretty good use of his
six feet height and strong dancer’s muscles, he didn't want to take the chance
of Adam hurting him.
Because Adam was a mountain of a man who
could crush mere mortals between his thumb and forefinger.

He
chose option two.

“Hi,”
he replied, as calmly as possible. He turned to look at Adam over his shoulder.
His best friend was looking at Fenix without even blinking, his eyes narrowed
to hateful slits and his mouth pursed into a thin, white line. Yep, he was
ready to pounce. “Adam, it’s OK. Can you maybe give us a minute?”

“No,”
Adam snarled, not moving an inch.

Jared
turned to fully face his friend and placed his hands on his cheeks until Adam’s
eyes focused on him.

“Please.
It’s OK. I’ll handle this.”

Adam
must have seen the desperation in Jared’s eyes because he slowly nodded, and,
casting one last evil glare at Fenix, left the room, slamming the door behind
him.

“Wow.
I can see he hasn’t changed a bit,” Fenix said and rolled his eyes.

“What
are you doing here?” Jared asked quietly, his eyes following Fenix as he moved
around the room.

He
was here. Fenix was really here! God, he’d missed him so fucking much.

“I
sent you an email. Didn't you read it? It was titled...”

“I
read it,” Jared interrupted him. “I meant what are you doing
here
, in my dressing room?”

Fenix’s
lips twitched as if he was trying not to laugh.

“Oh.
That. You were sharing a dressing room with Albert Burns, the lead
Underground
,
right? So now that he’s not performing here anymore I was offered his dressing
room and I accepted.”

“Why
did you accept? A Tony award winner could have demanded his own dressing room I
imagine.” Jared said, angry that Fenix had just assumed he could take his place
back in Jared’s dressing room, Jared’s
life
, without even asking first.
Like he was entitled to
it.

“I could have, yes. But I didn’t. I’d rather share
with you.” Fenix’s intense blue eyes were burning holes into Jared’s heart. He
didn't know how to respond to that – should he switch dressing rooms with
someone else? He could
bet
anyone currently working
in Queen Victoria would be beyond happy to share with Fenix.

“I can see your wheels turning, Jared. Stop
overthinking
and let it go. It’s not such a big deal – I
perform at night, you perform in the afternoon. We’ll barely even cross paths.”

“We’re
crossing paths now. What are you even doing here before noon?”

“I
wanted to get a feel of the stage again. And sneak in a work-out in the
rehearsal room – I’m still jetlagged and can’t sleep well, so I needed to
exhaust some of my built up energy.”

Jared’s
anger leaked out of him as quick as it had appeared. He could never stay mad at
Fenix for too long.

But
this was different, damn it! They were not together anymore. Jared had all the
right in the world to be angry.

Jared.

The
way he said his name still sent goosebumps all over his skin and made his cock
twitch in his jeans. He had to get out of this room. Fenix was right – they’d
barely even see each other with their schedules being different. Today was an
exception. He wasn’t going to do anything about this situation and create
additional drama. One theatre housing two musicals already had more drama
queens than a Mexican soap opera, and he’d be damned if he became one of them.

“Whatever.
I have to start getting ready in about an hour, so I’d appreciate it if you’re
finished by then,” said Jared, turning to open the door. He’d barely opened it
an inch when it slammed forcefully shut. Turning to look over his shoulder,
Jared saw Fenix’s face inches away and his hand against the door.

“Wait,”
Fenix commanded in a low voice. His hair had grown longer and his blond bangs
were hanging over his eyes. He looked even more striking as the muscles in his
stubble-covered jaw clenched. “I want to talk to you.”

“Not
now...” Jared whispered and tried to open the door but Fenix kept it firmly shut.
He needed to get out of here. His emotions after seeing Fenix were running into
overdrive and he needed some space before they could talk.

“Jared...”
Fenix said in a low, husky voice, his warm breath brushing Jared’s ear.

Jared
visibly shivered. He couldn't help it. Fenix was so close that Jared’s body
acted on its own accord – he’d spent two fucking years trying to convince his
body and his brain that Fenix was never coming back, and that he’d never, ever
feel the way he was feeling right now. And yet, he kept craving the man like he
craved water after the end of the show.

Jared
dared to turn just a little to steal a look at Fenix. His pupils were so huge
that his light blue eyes were almost entirely dark. He was breathing heavily,
buzzing with energy. Jared lowered his eyes to Fenix’s crotch and saw that he
was fully erect in his tight leggings.

When
his gaze returned to Fenix’s face, Jared saw the raw hunger in his eyes and
instinctively knew what was going to happen. Fenix was on him so fast that he
couldn't react. His lips were soft and warm and delicious, and his tongue was
pushing inside Jared’s mouth, demanding entrance. Jared’s brain short
circuited. He opened his mouth and let Fenix in, returning the kiss just as
ferociously.

He’d
missed this.

He’d
missed
him
.

Jared
would do anything,
anything
, to have
this forever.

Fenix
pushed him back against the door and caged his body, pressing their cocks
together as he grinded against him. In about three seconds Jared was going to come
in his pants. But he didn't care. He licked Fenix’s lips and explored his mouth
with his tongue and nothing else mattered in the world. Jared wanted more. He
wanted to touch Fenix everywhere. His palms slid down Fenix’s back and cupped
his ass through his leggings, provoking a loud moan from Fenix. He unglued his
mouth from Jared’s long enough to whisper a desperate ‘Yes, baby, please...’
and buckle his hips even harder against Jared’s.

Jared’s
control snapped. In a single, forceful movement he exchanged their places so
that Fenix was crushed against the door, and turned him around. Pulling his leggings
down, Jared wet his fingers with saliva and probed at Fenix’s hole, pushing a
finger inside and making Fenix moan loudly. Jared wet his fingers some more and
pushed two inside, placing open mouthed kisses on Fenix’s neck.

They
both breathed hard, and their whispers and moans of pleasure were desperate
pleas for more. Jared had no connection with his brain. All he knew was that he
wanted Fenix right
now,
he wanted to be inside him,
claim him, fuck him until Fenix promised he’d never leave again.

“Condom,”
Jared managed to rasp against Fenix’s skin. His brain might be in a fog of lust
but he still cared about their safety.

“My
bag,” Fenix said as he pointed at
a duffel
on the
floor next to Jared. “Front pocket.” Jared took the condom out of the pocket,
pulled his jeans down along with his boxers, and sheathed his aching cock with
the pre-lubricated condom. With trembling hands he guided himself inside Fenix.

“Yes, oh God!
Jared!” Fenix
moaned, thrusting his hips back so that Jared’s cock was fully inside him. He
fisted his own erection and started jerking off, moaning incoherently.

Jared
had to summon all his control not to come right then. He’d wanted this every
single day for the past two years, and now that he finally had it, he was so sensitive
and over stimulated that he wasn't sure he’d last longer than a few strokes.

“Fuck
me, Jared, please. I need you. Only you...” Fenix trailed off. Jared grabbed
his hips and started thrusting, long and hard, seeing the effect he had on
Fenix’s body. He was shaking all over, whimpering, thrashing, cursing...

“I’m
gonna
come, Fen. I can’t last. Not now,” Jared said
with difficulty as he pressed his chest on Fenix’s back and nipped at his neck.

Fenix
yelled and came, spurting ribbons of come all over the door. His ass clenched
around Jared and that was all he needed to push him over the edge.

They
stood like this, trying to catch their breaths for a long time, until Fenix
moved under Jared and prompted him to pull out. Jared padded to the bathroom
without a word. He disposed of the condom, washed his face and his hands, and,
before his brain could start shouting what an idiot he was, he walked out.
Fenix had pulled himself together and even wiped the door clean. Jared couldn't
talk with him right now, couldn't even look at him.

“I’m
sorry,” he said without meeting Fenix’s eyes, hurrying to open the door.

“Jared,”
Fenix called after him, trying to stop him again, but Jared was faster and
walked out before Fenix could reach him.

Chapter twenty six

Fenix

Fenix snuck in
at the back of the Dress Circle and hoped like hell he was hidden enough and
Jared wouldn't notice him. The man was like a hawk. He paid attention to the
audience –

he
loved performing for kids and young people and the interaction with the
audience was crucial. As much as Fenix tried to disregard the audience as he
performed because he found it incredibly distracting, Jared craved
communicating with his audience. Fenix was certain the huge success
Of Kids and Monsters
had had so far was
largely because of Jared and his charisma. Not that the musical itself wasn’t
amazing – it was an incredible story of courage, finding yourself, and learning
to believe in the unbelievable, all wrapped up in a witty, fun, poignant package
for kids. Sometimes, however, the parents seemed to enjoy it even more than
their children.

Fenix
slouched in his seat as much as he could,
getting
a
strange look from the woman sitting next to him who was craning her neck to see
the stage. She had two boys aged around eight with her who, judging by the
glint in their eyes, were very excited to see the musical. Thankfully he’d
chosen a seat next to the aisle and could bolt any time he wanted.

The
lights in the theatre went out, the stage lit up, and the music began. Fenix
could feel the collective intake of breath as the show started. Jared appeared
on stage, dressed casually in blue jeans and a t-shirt. Despite the elaborate
stage decor, he still managed to stand out even in his simple clothes. And then
he began singing. Fenix closed his eyes and let Jared’s soft, melodic voice
sink into every cell of his body.

Jared
wasn’t a singer or a dancer – he could do both pretty well, but what he was
born to do was
act
. When Jared
talked, people listened. When Jared focused those intensely navy coloured eyes
on you, you didn’t look away. Yet, Fenix marvelled at his voice. It surrounded
him and hugged him tight, and he couldn't help the shiver that ran down his
body and woke up his cock.

He
let all the emotions from a few hours ago flood him, overwhelm him. Jared had
fucked him in their dressing room. Jared still wanted him. The connection they
had shared before was still there, Fenix could feel it, and it wasn't only
physical. Fenix had been fucked by numerous men during the time he was gone,
but he’d never felt this way with someone else. How was that possible? The act
was exactly the same. Jared didn't have a magical cock that could melt Fenix’s
insides with a single thrust of his hips.

And
yet, he had.

Every touch, every kiss, every whisper made Fenix’s body
turn inside out.

Fenix
consciously dragged his mind off Jared and what they’d done, and focused on the
musical. It was just as good and he remembered, if not better.

All
the ‘monsters’ were on stage now, singing and acting their own stories, letting
the children help them find the good inside themselves. It was beautiful,
absolutely breathtaking. He could feel the energy buzzing through every single
person in the audience. Queen Victoria was alive and it was all thanks to the
actors on stage right now.

Fenix left his
seat before the show ended. He headed for his and Jared’s dressing room and
sprawled on the small sofa. He knew Jared wouldn’t be happy to see him. The man
needed some space to, undoubtedly, agonise over what had happened between them
and over think it to a point of no return. Well, Fenix wasn't giving him that
chance. He’d come back to London for
Jared
and he’d be damned if he didn't get him back sooner or later.
