Cyrosphere: Hidden Lives (12 page)

Lucy hadn’t texted her back on why she didn’t like her and Stacey only found that Crystal worked with her sister. By the time she went to bed. Ginger was happy she wasn’t the only one concerned. The next day Aaron and Ginger went out to brunch; saw a movie and he quizzed her on math and science. Those were the subjects he was good at.

Everyone was so supportive that she didn’t feel like an outsider but a family member. Back at home she called up Frost to ask about his date. It went well so maybe she was overreaching after all she had been through.

It hit her out of nowhere or perhaps it was thinking about Feltus being in league with Crystal. Ginger had a vision of Penelope, a woman that he was about to kill. Ginger dropped her phone with Frost asking was she alright on the other side as she shot the image to Stacey and Aaron. Both met her on her way down the stairs and Stacey was chanting words to open a portal.

Chapter 30:

The portal was in the middle of a suburban neighborhood as Aaron jumped in with Stacey following. Ginger didn’t worry about Yvette who wanted no part of any of this which made her wonder did she. She couldn’t ignore the vision and that meant she was drawn in as she stepped through the portal. The journey was like a warm blanket wrapped around her like a glowing happy feeling. Traveling gave her a happy buzz but a man trying to get inside a small orange car disturbed that.

Stacey throws a mental blast at Feltus which Ginger felt. It was a powerful psychic blast that she didn’t need to be hit to feel due to its power. Feltus barely flinched and that scared the shit out of Ginger. She needed more time to figure out what to do. This time she felt her energy expand and stop Feltus in place. He was powerful. She was breathing hard trying to hold him in place.

Ginger yells, “Get the girl”.

Stacey was already summoning a portal about the time Aaron pulled her from the car. The portal opened with Aaron pulling a frightened Penelope through the portal. Stacey told her to come on but if she released him who knows what would happen.

She told her, “Go”.

Stacey could sense speaking and holding him was getting to be too much for Ginger. Stacey ran through the portal slamming it closed behind her. The silence of the street broke her concentration as a thought hit her.

Feltus says, “Where the hell was Penelope Elektra Belkins”?

He was a telepath and a witch like Stacey but he wasn’t an indigo. Before she could react still exhausted he touched her and her subconscious went into red alert. He yelled in agony as she slipped from solid to shadow and drifting through the sky. Flashes of him killing dozen of witches and psychics allowed him to boost his powers.

The handsome, tall madman of half black and half Samoan almost killed her. He would kill anyone that got in his way. This must have been the challenge that Hannah was worried about. His mind was a landfill of poison and she quickly returned home to check on Penelope.

Back at the house Penelope was freaking out and asking them to let her go. Ginger walked in the door to Stacey on the phone talking to someone at Legacy. While Yvette and Aaron tried to calm her down. Ginger turned on the empathy to soothe her and figures out why she was flipping out. The girl was a witch so she knew about her powers but had never had an encounter with someone attacking her.

Ginger listened to her emotions, “It was shock that she could handle”.

She walked her from the living room to the kitchen which hopefully would calm her. Aaron gave Penelope a glass of water that she gulped down and that seemed to help her out a bit.

She smiled and
said, “Thanks”.

Aaron replies, “No problem”.

Penny
seemed more rational than a few minutes ago when Ginger came home. Yvette had given her a cookie she made while they were gone. Penny slowly ate it as Stacey went over all she knew about Feltus which Ginger wanted to know as well. The man is a sociopath and has numerous people working for him. He obviously has money so he could afford to have a hit put on her like he did with Stacey.

Most heard the rumors about Stacey so few were actually afraid to meet her in person and try their luck at battling her. Stacey shrugged at the compliment.

Penny asked, “You have any art supplies”?

Ginger thought, “What a strange request”.

Apparently Shalice had loved to paint and has lots of equipment went unused in boxes.

Stacey got up to go retrieve them and Ginger saw the pained look on Aaron’s face. Yvette walked over to her father, placing a hand on his shoulder to let him know he wasn’t alone.

Aaron says, “I am fine”.

At that moment Stacey returned and sat a sketch pad down with a set of color pencils as Aaron smiled at his daughter his reassurance. Penny didn’t waste a minute once they were in her hands and before Ginger could ask what she was doing. Penny’s eyes were glass clear like marbles as the page filled up of a girl that resembled Penny appeared on the page.

The other person had feminine features and soon she was leaning in kissing Penny in the drawing. The picture was a stunning portrait as a scream escaped her mouth.

Penny asks, “Why am I kissing some woman”?

The demanded question and a shocked and divested Penny made Ginger wonder what was going on.

Chapter 31:

By the expression on Penny’s face it was clear she didn’t know this woman. Her feelings of shock and outrage were real Ginger could attest to that. Stacey stayed quiet as a thought that she knew this woman in the drawing. The stunned Ginger looked at Stacey whose eyes warned to let her explain in private as Aaron said she was an indigo. All eyes turned to him.

That explained why Feltus was after her. Aaron knew her ability it was called skiagraphia, the ability to draw shadow paintings or pictures of future events. It was closely related to her and Guadalupe’s ability of umbrakinesis (controlling the shadows). Her ability was like Ginger’s, it was unique and few carried it.

Penny says, “I am straight and loved my husband into I became a widow. I loved him into his abrupt passing”.

Well Aaron tried to reason maybe there was more to the story or well picture. The future wasn’t always clear and changed all the time. This didn’t please Penny but she left it alone for now. A knock sounded at the door as Yvette went to answer it. Penny was suddenly anxious.

Stacey says, “Feltus probably isn’t a door using kind of guy. He wouldn’t announance his presence before trying to slaughter us all”.

Coming into the kitchen was a beautiful Indian woman who introduced herself to Ginger and Penny. She was 5’8, slender like a model and has a presence that can’t be ignored.

She says, “I am Imani Tamarin Monroe”.

Imani is an associate with Aaron.

Imani says, “I am going to be placing you in protective custody so she has no more run-ins with Feltus”.

Ginger thought, “I would be in the same situation if she hadn’t moved in with them”.

Penny asked, “What about my dad who is at work? He would be worried when she didn’t come home from work”.

Penny worked as a curator for an Art museum collecting priceless art pieces.

Imani states, “No problem”.

She assured her that it would be taken care of and Aaron was going with her to the office to get everything in order. Stacey mumbled something about emailing her teachers she wouldn’t be in class today, as she emailed them on her phone. Stacey headed towards the steps as she called Ginger telepathically to join her. Yvette started to clean up the kitchen and was going to cook lunch. Ginger said she was going upstairs for a little bit and Yvette nodded her head.

Before Ginger’s foot could reach the last step Stacey grabbed her hand and she felt a ripple in the air. Their surroundings changed and they were no longer home but outside a huge estate. Stacey has the ability to materialize from place to place but it tired her out and she preferred magic portals. It was possible that Feltus was now tracking portals to try and find Penelope why Imani came over in person via a car.

Imani is a powerful half witch, half fairy so she could use her powers without exhaustion or magic like Stacey. Stacey was a powerful conjuryer like Shalice had been but magic users had to make sure they didn’t over exert themselves. Stacey knocked on the door and a few seconds later a beautiful African American woman opened the door. Wait Ginger had to look closely but this was the woman Penny had just drawn.

Chapter 32:

Ginger was confused standing outside the huge mansion on how Stacey knew this woman. Stacey explained from obviously reading her thoughts that she and Jurnee were friends. She was 5’8, a body of a runner and a sweet, rational and poise outlook to life. Jurnee was a royal princess of African and Indian mixed heritage.

She says, “I am Jurnee Tempest Hillrender. Come inside”.

True that she just met Penny a few minutes ago but sneaking behind her back to meet the woman in her drawing felt deceptive. Inside the mansion were cream color walls and bright ceilings in the foyer. Jurnee graciously walked them to her office which was huge. The light blue walls, dark mahogany furniture fit nicely. They sat facing her desk as Jurnee sat before them. Stacey looked at Jurnee waiting for her to begin. Ginger felt Stacey’s anxiety and Jurnee’s calm demeanor which wasn’t just a front but her natural stance.

Jurnee asked, “Would you like tea and cookies”?

Ginger responds, “No thank you”.

Jurnee explained, “I am over 300 years old and befriended Stacey a few years back because I have contacts and connections all over the worlds”.

Ginger wondered, “If they were safe in the lair of a vampire”.

Jurnee giggled and explain, “I don’t feed on humans like the common vampires that movies portray. I can feed from emotions or a light touch”.

After years of control from her blood father Demetrius, Jurnee didn’t need to feed like others. Once again another person was connected to Demetrius. Demetrius is over 1000 years old and made three vampires including herself and Victor. Ginger already met Victor and knows he is crafty also is a strategist like Jurnee and rarely interferes with political affairs.

Jurnee says, “I asked Demetrius to turn me so I can be strong and not forced in a gender role of passiveness and find my soulmate”.

This was all fascinating but Ginger wanted to know what the point was. Jurnee smiled patiently like a parent would do an impatient child for interrupting. The woman was poise and now she began to see the royal qualities begin to manifest.

Jurnee went on, “That she and her soulmate have been reincarnated a few times in the past and this would be the fourth time. The last time her man had died right before she decided to change her destiny by become a vampire”.

Ginger asked, “Do you ever regret your decision”?

Jurnee replies, “No. I never regret my
decision and now I am hard to kill. Hopefully I can find my beloved as a vampire gives me the advantage to live longer and have the resources to find my other half”.

Ginger believed in rebirth and life after death but to meet a real live example in the flesh was astonishing.

Stacey says, “I have exciting new. I know where your beloved is. She is an indigo and draw their reconnection”.

This was the first time the calm Jurnee changed and the passion in her eyes was evident that she was the real deal. Ginger was sure now that Penny’s drawing was of the future and here was the other half claiming to be her destined partner. She had loved Diego deeply but doubted he was her only chance at happiness.

Perhaps Ginger would meet an equally great man that she could fall in love with. Closing her eyes and allowing her mind to clear to try and seek her intervoice for guidance. It was telling her to help Jurnee but also give Penny time to adjust to everything before they all decided to play matchmaker. Stacey agreed and Jurnee allowed them to help her out on when to make her next move. Ginger sighed a few breathes of relief and now Jurnee would help them out in return as a favor. She has resources everywhere and would be glad to put Feltus in the ground.
