Craving Shannon (9 page)

“Oh, yes, Shannon,” he continued. “That’s it.”

When he felt her body relax, he brought both hands to her back and kissed her cheek. He put his mouth to her ear. “Good girl,” he chuckled. “Do you feel better now?”

“Yes,” she mumbled in an exhausted voice.

“You were incredible, Sweet Girl. So gorgeous.”

She nodded into his shoulder, to spent to say anything.

Then the strangest thing happened.

As he laid her on the bed, instinctively knowing that she hadn’t the strength to move, he suddenly felt a wave of shame overcome him.

He hadn’t really thought about what he’d do after he made her orgasm, but somewhere inside he supposed he would fuck her. It’s what his body wanted—more than anything ever—but as he looked down at her, the usual self-disgust returned, and this time with a vengeance.

He put his hand on his forehead and moaned. What the hell was wrong with him?

He looked back down at her for a long while then pulled the blanket up over her shoulders. He turned on his heels and stormed out of the bedroom without saying another word.

Chapter 10

The glowing green numbers read two forty-seven.

“God fucking damn it!” Chad said aloud, knowing that sleep would avoid him for the rest of the night.

He thought back on the inappropriate things he’d done to Shannon upon returning from the bar, how he’d stripped her naked and played with her until she came in his arms. Suddenly feeling nauseous, he sat up in the bed and put his head in his hands.

Why?

Why had he given into that compulsion? Why did he go anywhere near her when he was shitfaced?

And how would he face her in the morning?

If there was one silver-lining, it was that his rational side kicked in before he fucked her, before he had stolen her virginity in a drunken stupor. Nah, that didn’t help at all. He felt like the biggest cad in the world, like some sort of lowlife that preys on young women in distress. He always prided himself in being the good guy, on being a person who looks out for the innocent.

What had he become?

He walked into his bathroom and splashed cold water on his face then returned to his bed, sick to his stomach.

The worst part? For all his self-loathing, he still wanted her like he never wanted anything before. The thought of her gorgeous, young body still sent him reeling—more so than ever, now that he’d looked upon it completely.

What had she done to him?

Chad, like any healthy man, enjoyed sex as much as the next person, but he couldn’t recall ever being driven demented by a female before, of being brought to his knees from desire, even in his hormonal, teenage years.

Maybe he needed help!

That was probably it. Perhaps he was losing his marbles.

At any rate, once again he had a raging hard-on with Shannon’s name written all over it, and to make matters worse, the memory of her sweet, little nipple in his mouth was compounding the already unbearable situation. He rubbed his mouth only to groan aloud—the scent of her juices lingered on his fingers, just another blow to his sanity.

He lay for hours, tossing and turning, wondering why he failed to remain in a drunken coma. He was beyond tired. The girl was causing a serious bout of insomnia. He couldn’t really take another sleepless night.

At six o’clock, he jumped out of bed, got dressed, packed his gym bag and headed for a workout before going to the office. He texted Roland on the way to see if he could squeeze in a session. Thankfully, Roland was a work-a-holic, not to mention an exercise fanatic, so it was rare that you couldn’t find him at the gym.

“Hey, are you alright, man?” Roland asked, looking Chad over suspiciously. “No offense, but you look like shit.”

“I haven’t slept in a couple of nights,” Chad explained.

“Everything okay?”

‘Not even a little bit!’
“Yeah, fine,” he lied.

After doing a round on the machines and some free weights, Chad headed toward the showers, feeling only slightly better when the cold autumn wind on the street hit his wet hair.

“You don’t look so good, Mr. Chad,” Nelson said, taking the cup of coffee. “You looks like the world is weighing down on you.”

“I’m having some personal issues,” Chad admitted.

“Well, judging by the way you dress, I’m guessing it ain’t money. And yous at the gym almost every day, so I think yous healthy enough, which only leaves one thing…”

Chad chuckled. “And what would that be?”

“Yous having lady trouble!” Nelson said with conviction. “I’m right, ain’t I?”

“In a way,” Chad replied, nodding.

“I give you some advice,” Nelson offered.

Chad plopped down on the cold ground next to the shabby old man, much to the amusement of passersby.

“Y’see, Mr. Chad, the men and the women, we not so different, no matter what people say. We all looking for the same thing,” he explained. “Go home and take your lady friend in your arms…make sweet, sweet love to her. I promise…I promise that will put a smile on her face.”

“Not helping, Nelson,” Chad said, jumping to his feet. “It’s trying to stop myself from doing just
that
that’s the problem.”

“The hell you talkin about, man?” Nelson screeched. “Did I hear you right?”

“Yup,” Chad replied, nodding.

“Well, I’ll be…I think you just might be the first man in the history of the world to ever utter those words.”

“Probably,” Chad replied, rolling his eyes. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Nelson. Thanks for that advice.”

“You beyond help, Mr. Chad, sir,” Nelson yelled after him.

“Don’t I know it, Buddy,” Chad called back, over his shoulder.

The morning flew by.

Chad busied himself by trying to make arrangements for his big meeting in Israel. If all went well, the commission on the Bazarov deal would be the biggest in his company’s history. Something that Mort was all too eager to remind him.

Hey, what’s a little more pressure?

“Come in,” he called out after hearing a faint tap on his door.

The door opened and Shannon walked in slowly, wearing a sheepish expression. She held up a bundle of envelops. “Your mail,” she said in a timid voice, her cheeks flushing pink.

“Thanks,” he mumbled. He sucked his bottom lip into his mouth nervously.

Shannon leaned over, set the mail on the corner of his desk, then half-smiled in his direction. She turned on her heels quickly and made her way to the door.

“Shannon, wait!” he called after her, jumping up from his seat. “Please just…wait.”

He walked toward her and grabbed her wrist then pulled her gently over to his desk. He motioned for her to sit in his chair while he leaned his butt against the top drawer, facing her. He bit into his thumb-pad and stared at her, wondering what he could possibly say to cut through the uncomfortable atmosphere.

Thankfully, she beat him to it. “I’m sorry for—

“You’re sorry?” he bellowed, incredulously, cutting off her apology. “What the hell do
you
have to be sorry for?”

She shrugged nervously.

“Please don’t say that. I was the one that acted like a complete asshole last night…” he trailed off, noticing the hurt expression on her face suddenly. He folded his hands together and squeezed his lip between both his forefingers, wondering what he had said to cause that reaction. He glared at her for a long moment, racking his brain for the right thing to say.

She let out a dainty, little cough. “I was going to say that I was sorry your mail is late. Sarah told me that you like to have it before ten, and it’s now eleven thirty.”

If ever Chad wanted the floor to swallow him up, now was that moment. “I…oh,” he mumbled awkwardly. “No…no…that’s fine…now is fine.”

“Can I go?” she asked. Chad heard the crack in her voice loud and clear. He looked down into her beautiful face and felt his head spin. “Shannon…I…” He shrugged his shoulders. “I’d rather you didn’t. I think we should talk about last night.”

She looked up at him from under her eyebrows like the picture of pure innocence—a look that he was slowly growing very fond of—and nodded.

He puffed out a hard breath. “I was drunk and you were vulnerable…I shouldn’t have…y’know…”

“It’s okay,” she said kindly.

“No, it’s really not,” he continued. “I feel like I took advantage of you, and I—

“You didn’t,” she blurted out, shaking her head. “Nothing happened that I didn’t want to happen. It’s not like you forced me into…y’know…”

“Okay, so I don’t want that to change things between us,” he said. “I want you to feel comfortable in my home.”

She nodded.

“So…we’re good?” he asked expectantly.

“We’re good!” she confirmed.

Chad watched her walked toward the door, watched her little hips sway, watched the way her silky hair bounced against her back, the way her perfect, sweet thighs moved beneath her short skirt.

He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed.

Dear Lord, they were so
not
good.

Chapter 11

It started out innocently enough.

It was a night not unlike many others in Chad’s life.

Years into the future, looking back on that night, would he have changed the course of events if he was given the chance? Would he even want to?

The ghost of Shannon sat in his chair all that afternoon. He paced the floor, wondering what he had said to cause that hurt expression on her face. He only wished to apologize for what happened the previous night, for letting the beast out to play with her.

Still, the memory of her perfect body thrashing with pleasure, as his hands explored her most precious places, tormented him.

She was beyond beautiful!

She was beyond innocent—an innocence that he longed to conquer, an innocence that would be his ultimate undoing.

She was a temptation from the devil, or possibly from heaven, either way, she wasn’t from this world. No earthly woman could cause such yearning, such gut wrenching need.

There was no way in hell he could face her that night!

Walking into McDermott’s that evening, Chad knew he was treading dangerous waters. It was one thing to have a couple of drinks now and then, but getting shitfaced every night was asking for trouble. Still, it beat the alternative, it beat having to face his demons, well, his one demon—Shannon Walsh.

Thankfully Derek was around. It didn’t seem so pathetic if he had a few drinks with a friend, but drinking alone, like he had the night before, was kind of a red flag.

“You look awful,” Derek declared

“Thanks,” Chad said sarcastically “I haven’t been sleeping well.”

“You alright?”

Chad shrugged.

“So how’s Shannon?” Derek asked with a smirk. “I have to say, she’s really something else.”

“How so?” Chad queried.

“That girl is a total mind-fuck!” Derek announced.

Chad raised his eyebrows questioningly.

“On one hand, she’s freaking gorgeous, but on the other, she’s like forbidden fruit or something. She reeks of virginity, but in the most enticing way. She could really make a guy feel kind of pervy.”

“Tell me about it,” Chad mumbled.

“Maybe she lets off abnormal amounts of pheromones,” Derek pondered.

“I wonder if that’s possible,” Chad said, narrowing his eyes.

“So how is she?” Derek asked.

Chad chuckled once. “Living with me,” he said matter-of-factly.

“What?” Derek bellowed.

“She’s living with me until she finds a decent place to live. She was living in a slum way uptown. I felt sorry for her.”

“You doing her?” Derek queried, wiggling his eyebrows.

“No…well…not like that,” Chad admitted.

“Listen, I don’t know what that means, but if you’re not interested in the girl, I’d be more than happy to take her off your hands.”

“You’ll stay away from her,” Chad said playfully but with a hint of a warning underneath.

The conversation went from Shannon to Donna to some girl that Derek had the hots for at his job, until it morphed into alcohol-induced nonsense.

“I’m heading home,” Chad announced, standing up and putting on his coat.

“Say hi to your new girlfriend,” Derek teased.

“I’m still with Donna,” Chad replied indignantly.

“Hey, that’s your fucking problem,” Derek joked.

“Later, Buddy,” Chad called out and headed toward the door.

Outside in the street, he decided it was just too cold to attempt the walk home. He hailed a cab within seconds and was walking into the warmth of his apartment seven minutes later.

The apartment was in total darkness. He hit the hallway light then made his way over to the living room to flick on a lamp.

He suddenly felt guilty for leaving Shannon without dinner and wondered if there had been any food in the refrigerator. He walked into the kitchen and saw no evidence of meals being prepared or any sign of food anywhere.

He made his way to the guest room to check on her, to make sure she was all right and in one piece.

Big, giant mistake!

He flicked on the lights and gasped at the sight before him.

Shannon was lying on her back asleep. The flimsy t-shirt she wore to bed had traveled up over her hips and belly, revealing a pair of pink frilly panties. She wore a clean pair of white tennis socks, and the soles of her feet were pushed together, causing both knees to rest on the mattress. And just so Chad could feel like a total perv for ogling her body, the girl was sucking on her thumb.

The severity of the hard-on literally brought him to his knees.

He heard Shannon gasp, and looked over the mattress to see her sitting up, rubbing sleep from her eyes. “Chad, is that you?” she asked.

“Yes, don’t worry, it’s only me,” he replied.

“What are you doing in here?” she queried.

“Just checking to make sure you’re okay,” he answered. He stood up and inched his way to the door backwards. “I’ll just go—

“You don’t have to,” she said, looking up at him from under her eyelashes.

“No, I do…”

“You don’t,” she pushed.

“If I stay here, I won’t…can’t be held responsible for what I’ll do to you,” he said honestly.

“I don’t…mind,” she mumbled.

Chad stood stock-still staring at her with a combination of intense lust and a little bit of disgust. He bit on his lip, feeling angry that she was putting him in such a precarious position. “Go back to sleep, Shannon,” he ordered.

“I don’t want to,” she replied quickly.

“Don’t play games with me, girl,” he warned. “You have no fucking clue what you’re toying with.”

She shrugged her shoulders innocently.

“Or do you?” he mumbled, eyeing her suspiciously.

She kept the innocent look on her face but didn’t answer.

“You
do
know, don’t you?” he accused.

“know what?” she questioned.

“You know damn well the effect you have on me.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she replied quietly.

“Really, Shannon?” he asked sarcastically. “Because I don’t believe you. I think you know how badly I want you, how it’s driving me insane, how I crave you like I’ve never craved anything in my life.”

Her eyes widened with obvious shock.  He had been dead wrong. She had no idea of the effect she had on him. He could see the truth plainly. “I…it’s…okay,” she mumbled.

“No…see that’s where you’re wrong, little girl. It isn’t okay,” he spat out angrily. He crossed the room and knelt on the bed in front of her. He pulled her head toward him and covered her mouth with his, kissing her roughly, biting on her lips and ramming his tongue as far into her mouth as he could.

After many minutes, he pulled away and noted the slight swelling of her bottom lip. “You think that’s okay, do you?” he asked.

She nodded and shrugged.

“That doesn’t scare you? Because it should,” he said firmly. “It scares the fuck out of me.”

“It doesn’t scare me,” she said in a weak voice.

“We’ll, see,” he mumbled before taking control of her mouth once more. He pushed his weight on top of her, combing his left hand through her hair.  His right hand pushed between her legs. He rubbed her panties roughly for a second then slid his hand inside them, feeling her sweet juices. “Your wet again, girl,” he moaned into her mouth.

“Yes,” she gasped breathlessly.

He rubbed his swollen cock against her left thigh, grinding into her. “You scared yet, Shannon?” he questioned.

“N…n…no,” she screeched.

“In that case, I’m going to fuck you,” he announced. “Do you know that?”

She let out a tiny scream.

“Does that scare you?”

“No!” she wailed.

With both hands, he pulled the t-shirt off her and wasted no time taking her left breast in his mouth while his hand rubbed her mound, working her into a frenzy.

He let both hands travel up to either side of her face. Cupping both her cheeks, he looked deep into her eyes. “Are you sure you want this?” he asked. “Tell me the truth.”

“I…I…yes,” she said then blushed under his touch.

“Are you sure you want your first time to be this way?” he tried again. “This isn’t romance and roses, Girl. You deserve a lot better than what you’re about to get.”

“Yes,” she said firmly.

Chad nodded. He reached down and removed her panties slowly, savoring the moment. He put both hands on her inner thighs and pushed gently so that she was spread wide for him. He continued to look down at her heavenly body as he stood up and removed his clothes. He knelt down between her legs and positioned himself at her threshold. “This is your last chance to stop me,” he warned. “Are you sure?”

“Yes,” she breathed nervously.

“Okay, then,” he replied, and pushed into her.

Nothing on earth could have prepared him for how tight she was.

She let out a piercing scream that drowned out his loud, guttural moan. Both of their body’s went rigid in unison, both overcome by the sensation.

Some sober, rational side of Chad remembered that the lovely girl beneath him was a virgin and probably experiencing pain. He stilled, looking down at her, waiting for some sort of signal. She winced for a second then nodded, letting him know that she was ready to continue.

When he moved inside her, he was convinced that he was under the influence of some unknown drug, besides alcohol. Perhaps someone had spiked one of his drinks because nothing had ever felt that way before. No sex that he could remember had ever given him an out-of-body experience, or was it more of an inner-body-experience? Either way, the sensation was something otherworldly, like every single nerve ending in his body was standing at attention. He could only imagine how much more intense the feeling would be without the potentially numbing effects of the booze. Right then, he knew this could not be a once off. He knew he was in the process of falling under a powerful addiction.

“Oh God, Shannon,” he moaned loudly. “This is the best. I’ve never felt anything as good as you before.” He leaned up on his elbows so that he could look down on her pretty, young face. “I don’t think you can possibly understand how incredible you are,” he grunted. “This is so fucking good.”

She let her eyes lock with his for a second and half smiled, grinding her back teeth together as she tried to suppress a scream.

“Does it feel good for you too?” he whispered.

She nodded and arched her neck, whimpering loudly.

“Oh Jesus,” Chad screeched, picking up the pace. “Oh, good lord, this is so fucking good. You’re un—fucking-believable.”

He bent forward and took her mouth with his, shoving his tongue in deep. He found a rhythm, his mouth and his hips working in unison, taking her completely. She cried into his mouth, something he’d never experienced before and the sensation made him feel powerful and dominant. Every part of him knew that as far as sexual encounters went, this was one he would remember forever.

Knowing that he was close to climaxing, he slowed down and shifted his position. He was going to make damn sure this girl would always remember her first time as something phenomenal, at least physically. He lifted his hips to insure that she would feel the full impact of his hardness, and knew that it was working when she began bucking faster and moaning loudly.

“I need you to cum now, Shannon, okay?” he urged into her ear. “I need you to let go for me.”

She nodded again and rocked her hips even harder.

“You’re so beautiful,” he murmured, awestruck by the sight of her. “You’re so fucking amazing.”

He breathed a silent sigh of relief when she arched her back and went rigid, her eyes rolling back into her head.

“That’s it, girl,” he moaned. “That’s it. Let it out.” Watching her cum was all he needed to let his own orgasm rip through him. He pulled out of her quickly and collapsed on top of her, shuddering in absolute pleasure, his entire body quivering with the power of his climax.

As he drifted back to earth, he leaned up and removed a stray strand of hair that was stuck to her cheek. He tucked it behind her ear then kissed her forehead.

She shimmied away from him and pulled the duvet over her legs.

“What are you doing?” he questioned firmly.

She smiled warmly. “Going to sleep?” It was not exactly a question.

Chad shook his head. “I don’t think so.”

Shannon looked at him with a confused expression.

“You’ve just gone and ripped the lid of Pandora’s Box,” he explained.

“What do you mean?” she questioned.

“Well, for starters, I’m not nearly done with you yet!”

Her eyes widened with a combination of shock and excitement.

“Brace yourself, Sweet Girl,” he warned. “It’s going to be a very long night.
