“Good, because I’m ready to say yes.”

I nudge him and lick as much of his face as I can.
“I love you, Brindle.”

He returns the kisses.
“I love you, too, Katie.”

A
tiny hand grasps my little finger tightly, and I glance over at my husband. Brindle is holding our other son, and I ask, “Can you believe they’re finally here?” Labor was quick for me, and the birth was relatively easy. I’m told it shouldn’t take more than a couple days until I feel like my usual self again.

“Can you believe we could love them so much?”

I lift my son to my face and inhale the salty-sweet aroma of my werewolf child. My emotions are overwhelmed, and tears fill my eyes. “It’s amazing.”

Brindle climbs on the bed next to me and wraps an arm around my shoulders while cuddling one of the twins. “Our life is amazing. And this is only the beginning, Katie.”

I tilt my face up to my husband and kiss him. The taste of my mate is like coming home. As our tongues perform their familiar dance and I lose myself in our love, I know I am exactly where I’m supposed to be. I place a hand on Brindle’s face and pull away to gaze into his eyes. “The beginning of forever with you, my true mate.”
