Bowles, Jan - Bought for the Billionaire's Bed [Guilty Pleasures 2] (Siren Publishing Everlasting Classic) (14 page)

“Oh, Trent.” She ran her hands into his hair, enjoying the feeling as it slipped through her fingers. Stretched back against him he mercilessly squeezed her one nipple as he continued to tease her clit. On sensory overload, she cried out, “Oh, God.”

Her stomach contracted as her orgasm slammed through, making her pussy clamp hard around his cock. She whimpered as he continued thrusting, driving through the aftershocks until she thought she would simply die from the intense pleasure.

Trent gripped her more tightly and pumped more urgently until he made one final lunge. He growled his appreciation in her ear as his seed ejaculated inside her.

He pulled her into his arms, and she lay nestled against his chest. Contentment flowed through her as she breathed in his heady, masculine scent. With his breathing still ragged, she trailed her fingers into the smattering of hair on his chest. He stilled her fingers by covering her hand with his then kissed her hair.

“Nothing like sex with a beautiful woman to focus one’s mind.”

She giggled. “That’s funny. I was thinking the exact opposite.”

“Good job, too.” He chuckled and then squeezed her shoulder. “I’ve been thinking, Mia.”

She looked up into his eyes, which were focused on her. “Yes, Trent?”

“I don’t want this money to come between us anymore.”

“Me, too.” She sighed. It could take forever before she could settle the debt. “As soon as I can, I’ll pay you back.”

“That’s just it, Mia. That could take forever.”

“Yes, with my track record of jobs, you could be right.”

“What would you say if I told you I’m not prepared to wait that long?”

A cold, clammy feeling washed over her, and her stomach churned. There didn’t seem a way out. “I’m sorry, Trent. I don’t know how I can help you.”

He smiled and kissed her lips. “Don’t look so worried. I have the perfect solution.”

“You do? I don’t understand. What is it?”

He held her hand in his and kissed her fingers. His amber gaze burned into her as he stared into her eyes. “Marry me, Mia. I love you. Then we can forget all this nonsense about money once and for all.”

Tears sprang into her eyes. To go from utter despondency, when she’d thought Trent was about to get rid of her, to euphoria in the space of a few hours made her sob uncontrollably. She covered her eyes with her hands.

He gently prized her fingers from her face. “Surely it’s not that bad?”

She shook her head and sniffled. “Trent, it’s the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me.”

“Is that a yes?”

She flung herself into his arms and showered kisses all over his face. “Of course it’s a yes. I love you, and I always will.”

“And I’ll always love you, my beautiful Scandinavian princess.”

Epilogue

One year later

Mia stood back and admired the finishing touches she’d made to Studio Utopia. Tomorrow was opening day, and she’d finally managed to get everything in order. It amazed her how far she’d come in the past year. Yes, it had been an uphill struggle to even consider opening a gallery, but with Trent’s help, she’d finally managed it.

Her gaze was drawn to the artwork taking center stage in the double height gallery. The Hans Vergen mural took pride of place, displayed to perfection in the confines of the sweeping staircase. It had quadrupled in value in little more than a year, and Trent had given it to her as a wedding gift. Mia would never sell it though, it was priceless to her. After all, it was the painting that had brought them together.

So much had changed in the last year. They now spent six months of the year in St. Lucia, and the rest of the time in New York. Trent was now on speaking terms with his father. It had thrilled her to be introduced as his fiancée, when she’d finally met his parents. Within a few hours of their meeting they’d all become great friends as if nothing untoward had ever happened. That was the thing about family. There was always room for forgiveness. Her most precious memory came when they’d both flown over to Sweden, and she’d presented Trent to her parents. Of course, they’d loved him straight away, especially when he tried to converse with them in Swedish. She giggled as she remembered his pronunciation of the language.

When the door to the gallery opened, Mia looked over her shoulder and smiled at the love of her life. Trent walked across to her. He nodded his approval at the progress she’d made without him.

“Good job, Mia, but I don’t want you doing too much. Not in your condition.” As if to emphasize his words, he wrapped his arms around her and smoothed his hands over her pregnant stomach. “Mmm, you feel so womanly. Maybe we could get pregnant every year.”

Mia giggled. “Just how many children do you plan on having, Trent?”

“At least ten.”

She snuggled into his warmth. “Sounds like bliss.”

“Mmm, especially if they all look like my beautiful, flaxen-haired Mia.”

She turned into his embrace and kissed his lips. “I love you, Trent.”

“I love you, too, princess, and I always will.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

At present Jan Bowles lives with her husband in an old farmhouse in Lincolnshire, England, UK.

She would like to think that she’s a free spirit, having lived in various parts of the UK and Europe. When she was younger she lived in Los Angeles, and traveled by car across the entire length of Route 66 to Chicago and then finally linked the journey to New York. It was an experience that Jan has never forgotten.

Jan has an inquiring mind, and will often muse about events having an everlasting effect on the human psyche. There is always a reason why people act the way they do. You just have to look below the surface. She hopes to bring these ideas to her writing.

When she’s not writing Jan likes to paint large landscapes and sweeping vistas. She loves walking, and there’s nothing more she’d rather do, than stand on the top of a hill with the wind blowing through her hair, and yep, if it’s raining that’s all the better. Jan say’s there’s nothing like nature to make one feel truly alive.
