Chapter 25

"Why do I have to be blindfolded?"  Missy
was adjusting the black satin Brandon placed across her face.

"Because, it's a surprise and I don't want you
to see where we are going."

"You better not try anything mister, but we
should definitely save this for another time."  Missy giggled.  She could
feel the heat of his gaze on her.

It was everything Brandon could do to restrain
himself.  When he planned this day, he hadn't imagined her all giddy and
blindfolded.  She was making it hard to focus on what he had planned.

"Okay we are here.  I will come around and help
you out so don't touch your eyes."

Brandon went around the car and gently helped her to
her feet.  He slowly took the cover off of her face.

"The
Brooklyn
Botanical Gardens?  What are we doing here?"

"I told you I would buy you a
botanical garden if I could.  Today, this one is yours."

"What?"

"It's yours.  I plan on kissing
you in every part of it too."

They inspected every area of the
garden.  The Japanese garden was her favorite place so far.  It was created to
be tranquil.  The waterfall provided a sound that calmed her from deep within.
She also loved the beautiful pops of red the pagoda and flowers provided.  Each
location had its own unique beauty.  The orchids were outstanding.  She had
received one as a gift for her birthday one year, but it didn't last long in
her care.  The rose gardens were filled with rows of every color she could
imagine.  There were roses hanging above her head and growing at her feet.  It
was like walking into a book.  "This is the most stunning place I have
ever been.  I couldn't have dreamed of a place so perfect.  You give me
perfection.  I have always known there was something missing from my life.  I
had no family, and now you have filled that part of me.  My mom is doing well
and I...I just feel like the luckiest girl in the world."  She reached up
and put her arms around him.  He heard her tummy rumble and they both laughed.

"Are you hungry my love?"

"How did you ever know?"

"Come with me.  I have one more surprise for
you."

The sight of the cherry blossoms in bloom took her
breath away.  The pink flowers hung down and the trees were lined to create an
arched pathway.  Tucked underneath was a table with white linens and silver
place settings.  Surrounding the table were candles in every size.  In the
background she could hear the slight hum of a violin.

"Brandon, this is incredible.  How did you ever
do this?"

"Missy, you deserve the best.  Everything we
have been through has taught me so much.  I will never take you for granted or
let a chance for us to be together escape.  I love you.  You are my family, my
life, my everything."

Missy felt the tears coming as he kneeled down onto
one knee and pulled a small aqua box out of his pocket.  He opened it and
revealed a princess cut diamond that had to be at least three carats.  She was
awe struck.

"I want you and only you.  Will you be my
forever?"

"Yes!  Of course."

Brandon put the ring on her finger, picked her up
off of her feet, and touched his lips to hers.

"Damn right you will woman."
