Little did I know that Snow White wasn’t dead. Pomona twisted the truth and persuaded me that Snow was dead to protect me from her, always and forever. Snow White was immortal, and I think she woke up minutes after I left, asking about me. It’s easy to imagine the kind of lies they told her. Maybe they told her I was dead too.
I spent the rest of my life trying to find her again, but all in vain. All I know is that Pomona didn’t lie about the fruits, for all apples are still blood red in this world, and every time I take a bite, I remember they are the color of Death.
End of Grimm Prequels #6, Blood Apples
One more prequel left until Snow White Sorrow
Author’s note:
1)
Jeannette and Amalie Hassenpflug aren’t a figment of my imagination. They are true. Actually, their story and how one of their sisters was married to one of the Brother Grimm
brothers
is rather interesting. The two families dedicated their lives, collecting fairy tales, but at the same time, they were in desperate need for money in the beginning. Did Jeannette and Amalie make up some of these stories? But even if they did, it is interesting enough to know that the Brothers Grimm did not only tell stories, but both of them were scholars and wrote detailed articles about well known characters in mythology. One of them is the famous Loki from Norse mythology ( Is that why we got a Loki in Snow White Sorrow? Hmm… We’ll see. )
2)
The story is referencing to Romeo and Juliet, Adam and Eve, and Pyramus And Thisbe ( which is the bases for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet ).
