Chapter One

K
AY-LAl! KAY-LA!

The crowd’s screams echoed in the massive stadium as Kayla Winters leapt off the main stage. Even though she was one of the biggest international best-selling pop superstars of the world, she never felt more alone. For the past few weeks, she’d gotten alarming death threats. Eerie phone calls in the middle of the night of a man breathing low and heavy on her phone. And, frightening texts with lurid details of how her stalker wanted to tie her up and thrust himself between her thighs.

A pack of bodyguards marched at her side as she shuffled down towards the exit where her limo waited.

“Does the driver know the way to the hotel?” Kayla asked while Alfie, her manager, slipped on her shaggy fur coat. Heavy rain fall poured all around them. She didn’t recognize the driver sitting in the front seat of her limo.

Hey
Alfie, who’s this new guy?” Kayla hissed, tossing her hair. “You can’t just have
some guy
driving me home. I need to know these things...”

“Uh, yeah, head of security hired him yesterday.” The Hotel Grand should only be a few minutes away...” Alfie assured her.

Even though her gut didn’t sit right with her, Kayla ducked into the car. Her eyes cast a glance at the rear view mirror.

A pair of scorching amber-red eyes, of the likes Kayla had never seen before, stared back at her. It sent an intense shiver down her spine.

So
, are you gonna tell me your name or what?” Kayla uttered half aloud watching the rain trickle down her tinted window.

Her burly looking driver only answered with a low feral grunt.

Okay
...” Kayla snorted, rolling her eyes.

She hated this new guy already.
I mean, who does this idiot think he is being standoffish with me?
Kayla had a terrible streak of impatience and was used to people catering to her every last whim.

Moments later, she arrived at the Hotel Grand and waited patiently for her driver to open her door. The mysterious driver stomped out of the limo, lumbered towards her door and swung it open.

That’s when she got a good look at the driver’s brawny well-built physique. He stood rigid and taller than any man she’d ever met. His strong jaw had a nicely groomed five ‘o clock shadow. When she sniffed, he had a savory intoxicating musk. Kayla flicked her auburn hair as she forged through the swarm of fans and leering paparazzi. Suddenly, Kayla tripped on the hem of her shaggy fur coat and toppled backwards.

A wave of fans, started pulling at her, grabbing at her from all directions. Kayla panicked as they started to tear at her silk blouse, ripping the sleeves.

She struggled to escape as they took her from all sides—but she had nowhere to run!

Out of nowhere, her broad-shouldered driver lurched in the middle of the screaming chaos, sweeping Kayla up and throwing her over his shoulder. He then pressed forward, ramming through flashing cameras as he raced through the hotel doors.

Kayla then fixed her gaze up at him utterly speechless—her hair frazzled and her lacey bra strap exposed on her shoulder.

When her nerves started to settle, she found the words to speak.

“Who are you?” she breathed her lips slightly parted.

“I’m Thrash Prince—your new body guard,” Thrash growled.

Chapter Two

T
hat next morning Kayla awoke in her high rise condo in Los Angeles. She heard voices downstairs. Swinging her feet over the side of her bed, Kayla paced all the way to the railing on the stairs. Leaning in, she spotted Thrash and her manager skimming the stalker’s letters.

Thrash picked up a crumpled letter and read it aloud.

“I want to suck and bite each of your nipples. I don’t care how much you scream...” Thrash grunted.

Alfie eyed Thrash’s powerful frame. “It’s so sickening, isn’t it? We’ve been getting a letter almost three times a week...” Alfie replied.

“I don’t know what all of the big fuss is about,” Kayla sighed, waving her perfectly manicured hand. “I can take care of myself. I don’t need another
lunkhead
around cramping my style.”

Thrash veered his musclebound body towards Kayla. And his amber-red eyes stared at Kayla’s voluptuous body. She trotted gracefully down her stairs in only a satin night gown that just barely covered her curvy frame.

“It didn’t seem that way last night,” Thrash snarled, sniffing the air.

“I’m just a klutz sometimes—that’s all. Besides, I’m drowning in bodyguards already. What makes
you
any different?” Kayla sniped, poking her finger in Thrash’s hard chest. She raised her brow, not expecting Thrash to be as cut as he was. His body was nothing but pure muscle.

“The difference is. I don’t take bull. So, either listen to what I have to say or suffer the consequences...” Thrash growled. Thrash had seen Kayla’s type before.

Spoiled Brat. Silly. Entitled...

Kayla smiled, tilting back.
This guy has no friggin’ clue.
She had a knack for being an outright
bitch
if she chose to. She had seen so many body guards come and go... it had almost become a pathetic joke. Sure, Thrash was sexier than all the other guys—but she still didn’t quite trust him.

Thrash glowered at her as Kayla pinched a cigarette in the corner of her lips, attempting to light it.

Thrash snatched it out of her mouth.

“What the
hell
?” Kayla hollered.

“Rule number one, no smoking. My nose is very sensitive to scents in the environment,” Thrash grunted, twitching his nose.

Sensitive to the smell? The nerve of this jerk!
Kayla thought. Thrash had struck her as one of those boring straight laced types. He’d rather read a book than go out a night on the town. And then a wicked smirk spread across her face. Maybe she should test that theory...

Fine
, if you’re gonna be sticking around that means you have to follow me wherever I go, right?” Kayla asked with an innocent shrug of her shoulders.

Thrash squinted his fierce eyes. “Yes...”

“I have a lingerie shoot in about an hour. Do you think you’ll be ready to leave in the next fifteen minutes?” Kayla asked, digging her fist in her hip. She snapped her fingers, beckoning Alfie to grab her purse.

“Hand me my Louis Vuitton, Alfie. I’ve got a photo shoot to catch.”

Chapter Three

T
hrash folded his bulky arms, sneering as he watched Kayla getting dolled up by a dozen different stylists. A blow dryer blew through her thick spiral curls, and a makeup artist carefully applied her mascara with a flick. Kayla pouted her lips, clutching her terry robe closed with one hand.

She could see the terrible absolute boredom in Thrash’s enchanting eyes.
Wait till he gets a load of this...

Kayla fancied, casting off her thick pink robe.

Immediately, Thrash studied every inch of her soft thick curves, the strap of her lacey bra cascaded down her arm. And Thrash could feel his cock stirring against his will. As he devoured her with his eyes, he gave the corner of his mouth a savory lick. He looked upon her with pure lust.

Kayla took notice of the carnal look in her protector’s red eyes, and bent her ass ever so slightly forward so Thrash could see her thong. Thrash gaped, watching Kayla’s curvy ass bounce with each step.

A smile spread across Kayla’s face.

Hook. Line. Sinker...

One of the make-up girls held up a phone to Kayla’s ear.

“Kayla, you’ve got a phone call. They say they’re your biggest fan.”

Despite her snotty attitude, nothing mattered to Kayla more than her adoring fans. Gleefully, she answered the call.

“Hello?” Kayla called, swaying her hair.

“...I can’t wait to rub my hard cock in between your legs...I can see you right now!” A perverted voice moaned.

Kayla shrieked. The phone fell from her grasp, cracking in pieces on the floor. Thrash charged towards Kayla.

“He must be somewhere close. We need to get out of here,” he demanded looking quickly left and right.

Wuh?
Wait? What about my lingerie shoot?” Kayla blurted out. Kayla wasn’t going to let some creepy psycho ruin her obligations. One crazy person would never force her to be afraid to live her life. She stomped her foot.

“I’m staying...” she insisted.

However, the thing was, Thrash wasn’t going to take “no” for an answer. He aggressively picked her up by her thick waist. Kayla kicked and screamed, punching Thrash in his hard chest. Thrash hauled her off in his arms, snuck into the back alley and marched towards the limo... But he noticed someone had
slashed
the tires...

Thrash then turned his head to the right at the sound of a low rumbling growl.

Oh my god!
” Kayla screamed, scrambling up closer to Thrash’s chest. “It’s a wolf!”

Thrash parked Kayla down on the ground and got on all fours. Dark earthy brown fur ripped down his body, and Thrash’s square jaw elongated into a snout. Kayla blinked hard, trying to make sure her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her.

“Thrash is a...
bear
!” she whispered under her breath.

Thrash growled, posting his body in between the snarling wolf and a frightened Kayla.

When the wolf lunged for Thrash’s shaggy throat, Thrash socked it in its jaw.

A shrill yelp cracked in the air when the wolf got thrown to the ground. Abruptly, the feral wolf launched up and sprinted out of the alley and disappeared in the crowd.

A very startled Kayla rose to her feet and only had one question plaguing her mind...

“Who and what the
hell
are you?!” she spat.

Chapter Four

K
ayla shifted underneath her seatbelt when Thrash forced her in the limo.

“You need to let me go! This is freaking
crazy
!” Kayla hollered trying to break free. Her eyes turned up and she got a full view of Thrash’s perfectly naked form.

For a second, she stopped struggling. Letting her eyes scan the luscious contours of his chiseled abs.

Jesus, Christ! I’d love to slip my hands over his body—so fit and so tight.

Then, suddenly, Kayla gasped when she unconsciously looked directly at his crotch.

Wowza!

Quickly, Thrash grabbed a tight heather gray t-shirt from the glove compartment and threw it over his shoulders. He then pulled out a pair of denim jeans and drew them up to his narrow waist.

“Concentrate, Kayla,” Thrash growled buckling his belt. “Is there some place we can lay low for a few hours?”

Kayla shook her head, still swimming with confusion. “Can’t you just take me back to my condo?”

Thrash edged into the driver’s seat. “No, there’s an off chance that your stalker might be tailing us.”

Kayla thought hard. It occurred to her there was a place she had forgotten.

“Well, there’s one place....”

She then recited an address and Thrash plugged it into the GPS.

The entire ride was silent. Even though, Kayla had a hard time admitting it... she was thankful that Thrash was there to save her life. But at the same time, she was frightened because she didn’t understand how he had a wild bear hiding deep inside him.

“Don’t make me ask...” Kayla spouted, still shivering with adrenaline.

Thrash cocked his head to the side. “Ask what?”

“Ask about the whole bear-thing,” she demanded.

“There not a lot to say—I’m an alpha werebear who can shift in human form.
Satisfied
?” Thrash growled, he didn’t bother to look Kayla in the eye. Her werebear body guard was hiding something and Kayla
damn
well knew it.

Thrash finally pulled up to the home listed on the address. Kayla grew ever more impatient.
I’m not paying this asshole hundreds of thousands of dollars so he can cop an attitude with me!
Kayla got so pissed off, she started shaking.
