This was actually a pretty difficult book to write...well, to finish, anyway. I kind of lingered around the last third of it, avoiding Going There for months and doing the usual writer thing of polishing doorknobs and starting new projects, anything to avoid putting my characters through what I knew needed to happen at the end of this monster. Of course, I finally went back and finished it, but that may not have happened as soon as it did it if wasn’t for encouragement from fans and friends, so thank you, all of you, for forcing me to go to That Place, even though in a lot of ways, I really didn’t want to.
