I MUST BE out of my fucking mind
, was all I could think as Dylan’s fingers slipped into the side of my jeans and yanked them over my ass. There was no other explanation for the fact that I was standing bare-assed, bent over my Lamborghini, in the middle of the desert. No explanation, other than Dylan made me lose my brain.

I could feel him massaging his palm over my ass cheek and sighing in my ear as he rolled his hips against mine, and his hard cock rubbed over me.

“God, Ace. This is… You look…unfuckingbelievable.”

Now there was a word for it.
Unbelievable
. I couldn’t believe how much I wanted this until Dylan had brought the car to a stop and pinned me with a look that screamed,
I want to fuck you. Now.
And after that, I’d lost the ability to think at all.

The entire trip to El Mirage, and three-minute drive, had been all the foreplay I needed, and now…now, I wanted to feel the cock he was grinding all over inside me.

“Jesus, Dylan. Hurry up,” I said, and heard the fucker behind me laugh.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw him reach for his jacket and heard zippers going up and down before he tossed it back over the roof.

“So impatient. I was just taking a moment to enjoy you. Because once I get my dick inside you, it’s gonna be over real fucking quick.”

Shit.
I’d had a feeling Dylan would be a bossy top, because he lacked subtlety on most occasions. But his dirty talk was something I’d never quite imagined. I was positive I could come from just listening to some of the stuff that rolled off his tongue.

I was about to tell him so when cool, wet fingers slid down from my tailbone and between my ass cheeks, shocking the hell out of me. My body automatically clenched and I saw Dylan’s hand come down, holding mine in place on the frame of the door.

His mouth found my ear next, and he kissed it gently and said, “Relax for me, hotshot. I’ve got you covered.”

No shit.
Where had the lube come from? I’d expected this to be a rough fuck with some pain involved, but I was so horny I’d been ready to overlook it just to feel him inside me. Instead, I twisted my head around to find his eyes and the sensual gleam in them, and the questions I’d had quickly turned to a moan as he probed my hole gently and found entry.

I gnashed my teeth together, and then Dylan pressed his lips to mine in a savage mating of the mouths, pumping his finger in and out of me while I remained stretched over the side of my vehicle.

I could feel the perspiration trickling down the back of my shirt between my shoulder blades as Dylan moved behind me, thrusting his hips against me every time he tunneled his finger deeper. Then, when I was finally at the end of my rope, I growled against his mouth and demanded, “Do it.”

Dylan’s smile was fierce as he moved away from me to grip my hips. He tugged the material of my jeans a little farther down, and I heard the distinct tearing of a condom packet.

Well, I’ll be damned, he comes prepared for every occasion, doesn’t he?
I stored away the thought that I needed to ask him where the hell his provisions had magically appeared from, when I felt the head of his cock brush over my most vulnerable flesh.

“You look so fucking hot right now, Ace. I need to get inside you.” Dylan’s words were hoarse, and his fingers harsh as they bit into the skin of my hip, and I widened my feet a little to brace myself as, inch by inch, Dylan pushed inside my body.

The burn was immediate as the wide head of him breached my hole. My fingers flexed on the metal as the intense pressure of being filled consumed me, and Dylan lodged himself fully inside my body. His front was plastered to my back, and what a thrill it was when I looked up to see miles and miles of open, empty space.

Good God
, I really had lost my mind, and I couldn’t seem to find it in me to give a damn.

I could feel the rough material of Dylan’s jeans against my bare ass cheeks and thighs, and knew he was still fully dressed. He was fulfilling my fantasy. And he was doing a fucking magnificent job of it. There was something incredibly stimulating about knowing Dylan had merely unzipped us both, stretched me over my car, and then slid his cock deep,
deep
inside of me.

“You okay?” Dylan said against my ear, pulling me from my own headspace. And the second I nodded and managed, “Fuck yes,” he grunted, and that was the end of the talking.

With his fingers tight on my waist, Dylan pulled out of me and then thrust back inside, and I yelled out his name, loving that I finally had the freedom to be loud and uninhibited. He took me hard and fast as I propelled my body back against his, encouraging him to be as rough as he wanted as each of us raced toward a new kind of finish line, one that had us shouting the other’s name as our orgasms slammed into us. And I knew we would be hard-pressed to explain what exactly had come over us under the sizzling sun that afternoon, on El Mirage Lake.

COCKBLOCK

BEST FUCKING DAY,
I thought, and then laughed to myself.
No pun intended.
But as I sat back against the plush leather of the seats, with the cool air hitting me in the face, and the sexy man sitting next to me behind the wheel, my mind went back there, back to fucking Ace in the middle of a desert, bent over his car, with the sun beating down on my neck.

God, had there ever been a hotter sight than watching my cock sink into his tight—

“What are you thinking about over there?” Ace’s voice knocked me out of my daydream, and when I opened my eyes, he was grinning at me. “You were licking your lips.”

“Was I?” I asked. “Just thinking about your ass.”

“My ass? What about it?”

“Fucking it. Teasing it. Biting it. Licking it—”

“Jesus, Dylan,” Ace said, reaching down to palm himself.

“You asked. But if you want specifics, I’ll just say I was thinking about how hot it was to fulfill that fantasy of yours. Guess you’ll need to tell me another one on your list so we can check it off.”

“Hmm. Maybe we should follow through on yours first.”

“Uh…that’s gonna be pretty impossible right now, unless you have a burning desire to get it on in front of a bunch of those stalkers with cameras. I think what we just did classifies as fucking in public, so let’s just consider mine crossed off too for the moment.”

Ace’s eyes shot over to mine, and the scorching heat in them from earlier still simmered. “I wish I could kiss you right now.”

I held his gaze until he had to look back at the road, and even then I continued to watch him as a range of emotions crossed his face, one by one. Happiness. Guilt. Regret. Peace. Lust. Anger.

It was strange… I’d never understood what it must be like for people who had to hide who they were from others. Fortunately, I’d never much cared what anyone thought about me, and even when I’d met my family, they were so open and accepting that I’d never had to deal with the struggle people like Ace went through on a daily basis. And now that we were so intertwined, it felt a bit like I was getting shoved into the closet too, and though I couldn’t imagine living my life that way, I also couldn’t imagine not wanting the man beside me with every fiber of my being.

If he was willing to put his career on the line for me, I was willing to do whatever it took to stay by his side. And had we still been in the desert, I would’ve leaned across the console and taken his lips with mine, but as it was, we were about a half-hour away from my apartment, and though the traffic was moving steadily, there were still too many cars, too many possibly prying eyes. I’d taken to sitting on my hands just to keep myself from linking our fingers, or worse, running my hand along his hard thigh and over his cock.

“Once I drop you off, are you still going to cab it to my place?” Ace asked.

“Yeah, that sounds perfect.”

“You know—”

Dylan! You need some Sunshine in your life!

Ace began to laugh as my cell went off. “Thank fuck that didn’t go off earlier, or it would’ve really ruined the moment.”

“No shit,” I said, as I fished the phone out of my pocket and hit answer. “Hey, Sunshine, you’re on speakerphone.”

“Oh, does that mean you’re with the handsome young man we saw the other day?”

I grinned at Ace. “Which one?”

“There better
only
be one,” Ace said, practically growling.

“Hey there, Hercules, how’s my boy treating you?”

Ace’s brow popped up. “Hercules?”

“Everyone in the family needs a name worthy of the Prescott family, though if I could change my husband’s last name too, I’d have done it. Plus, those muscles…” Sunshine said.

“Hercules it is, then,” Ace said. “And Daydream over here is living up to his name.”

“He’s such a sweet boy, isn’t he?”

When Ace glanced over at me, he smirked, and then he reached down to grab himself. “The absolute sweetest.”

I rolled my eyes. “Are you guys still heading out to Green Fields to camp this weekend?”

“We’re leaving in about an hour. But I need to talk to you about something before we head out that you might want to take me off speakerphone for,” she said, her normally peppy voice turning cautious.

“Ace already knows Green Fields is a nudist camp.”

“No…it’s not that,” Sunshine said, as if choosing her words carefully.

“Well, whatever it is, you can say it in front of Ace too.”

Sunshine seemed to hesitate, which was unlike her, and then she said, “Brenda stopped by the house yesterday.”

My smile dimmed as I took in her words, but it couldn’t have been what I thought she’d said. “Wait, say that again.”

“Brenda came by, and she had a stack of magazines with her, all the ads you’ve done so far, and—”

“Hold on, she’s out? How did she find you?” I asked, my voice rising, even though it felt like someone had cut off my air supply, forcing my heart to beat double time in my chest. As Sunshine began to answer, I quickly took the cell off speakerphone and held it up to my ear.

“They released her for good behavior, or so she said. She looked good, though. All cleaned up, and—”

“I don’t give a fuck how she looks—”

“I know you don’t—”

“So, what, she thought she’d hop a flight to come say hi?” My hand was shaking, and I could feel Ace’s concerned stare, but I couldn’t think about anything other than the fact that the woman who’d taken away my childhood had shown up on my parents’ doorstep.

“Just calm down for a second, so we can talk about this—”

“Calm down? What the hell does she want?”

And then Sunshine said the five words I’d been dreading since the day I was forced into foster care.

“She wants to know you.”

I’D NEVER SEEN Dylan so tense and upset before, and from the pleading sound I could faintly hear coming out of the phone, his mother hadn’t either. He white-knuckled his cell, and his jaw was clenched so hard I worried he’d crack his molars.

“That is not ever going to happen,” he said, and when I put my hand on his thigh to soothe him, he flinched, and it had me pulling away to give him some space.

“…and she has no idea where you are and she never will unless you decide otherwise,” his mother said, but from the way Dylan shook his head adamantly, it wouldn’t have mattered what she said, because the man had shut down.

“I can’t talk right now,” he said, and as he pulled the phone away from his ear, he stared down at it like he’d never seen one before and said in a detached voice, “Have fun at camp.” After turning the phone completely off, he jammed it into his pants pocket and then turned to face the window.

As silence descended, I wasn’t sure what the hell to say, or if it was better just to stay silent. But as the man next to me fumed, and my curiosity got the better of me, I couldn’t stop myself from checking in with him.

“Dylan?” I said softly, and when he didn’t acknowledge me, I tried again. “Hey, talk to me.”

He continued to gaze out the window, but shook his head slightly.

“Who’s Brenda and why does she have you looking like you want to jump out of my car into traffic?” I asked.

Dylan let out a long sigh and ran his hand over his face. “She’s no one of any importance.”

“I call bullshit. Anyone who has that much of an effect on you isn’t just no one.”

“Let it go, Ace.”

“And just let you suffer over there in silence? Talk to me.”

“I don’t
want
to talk about it. That woman is nothing to me, which means she’s nothing to you, which means I’m fine.” He turned back toward the window and muttered, “I’m fine.”

Sighing, I flipped on the turn signal and switched lanes. “You always tell me I never open up enough, and you force shit out of me that I’d never volunteer. So why doesn’t it go both ways, huh?”

“Because I don’t want to tell you,” Dylan exploded, his eyes shooting daggers. “I’m not going to talk about my family history with you, not right now, and maybe not ever. Stop fucking pushing me.”

“I’m not pushing you—”

“Yes, you are.”

What the hell is going on with him right now?
This was a complete one-eighty from the man I’d come to know over the past few weeks, and though I knew he wasn’t lashing out at me because of something I’d done, it was obvious there was a shitload of pain that ran somewhere deep. A gash that’d never quite healed, and whatever it was, his reaction told me it wasn’t anything good. And that made me even more desperate to find out what, or who, was the source.

“I’m here if you want…or if you need to talk…”

Dylan laid his head on his propped-up fist and sighed. “Just take me home.”

I felt the sting of his words in my chest, and it occurred to me then how much I’d come to care about this man. Because if anyone else had talked to me the way he had, or blown me off, I would’ve been quick to dismiss them. But with Dylan, I felt every ounce of his frustration, of his pain, but I also felt every strike he made at me with a kind of heartache that I’d never experienced.
