“Congratulations Ms. Ryan, job well done,” he complimented her with a big grin.

“Thank you, Mr. Connelly, it was a pleasure,” she replied with an equally big grin.

“Well, I think we should keep the pleasure going. I think it’s time we went out to dinner. Don’t you?”

Jenni almost did a spit take with her champagne. She had given up on anything happening between them and was taken aback. The question also immediately increased her pulse rate.

She quickly recovered. “I think that would be lovely. I wasn’t sure you were interested,” she said with a demure smile.

“Oh, I was definitely interested but it wouldn’t have been proper or even smart to ask you out until the campaign was launched.”

“I suppose so, might make it harder to concentrate on work.” She laughed.

“Absolutely, and I think it would be hard to ask someone out for a date after you had fired them,” he teased her. His hazel eyes were fixed on her and there was that grin again, a bit arrogant but also filled with fun and warmth. Jenni felt her cheeks grow warm.

“Yeah, I can see how that would put a damper on going out together.” She smiled back at him. “Well, then, it’s a good thing I did such a good job or we would never have gotten to this point. I guess I passed the test, so to speak.”

“You certainly did, with flying colors. Shall I pick you up on Saturday, say around seven?”

“That would be great. I’m looking forward to it,” she answered, hoping she didn’t sound too anxious.

“Me too—Well, I better go mingle some more, I’m the host after all.” He took her hand in his and then unexpectedly brought it to his lips and placed a sweet lingering kiss on the back of her hand. “See you Saturday.”

After the party had wrapped, Jenni went home, her thoughts engrossed with her upcoming date. She was thrilled, excited, and even a bit scared—which surprised her. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but she felt as though she was in for something different, a new experience.

Was she building it up too much? She had no idea about who Charles really was, maybe he was just a regular guy, hell maybe he was conservative in bed. She doubted it, but you never knew until you were actually in bed with someone. Jenni smiled to herself as she thought about Charles and her in bed together.

As she lay in bed, thinking of the possibilities, she realized she was really horny. Lying there naked, she pushed the covers off and lay back down, letting one hand drift down to her pussy while the other went to her breast. She pinched her nipple lightly while with the other hand she rubbed first one finger and then two fingers up and down her pussy lips.

She slid her fingers into her pussy and began moving them in and out. She closed her eyes, imagining what Charles’s cock would feel like in her wet, hot vagina. Extremely aroused now, she reached into her nightstand drawer and pulled out her trusty vibrator.

Bringing it to the lips of her pussy and then on to her clit, she pinched her nipple harder and within a few minutes she was gasping and trembling, surprised she had come so quickly.

Relaxed, she lay quietly for a couple of minutes, letting the waves of pleasure subside. Rolling on her side, she put the vibrator back in the drawer.
I’m hoping I don’t need to use that as much in the future
, she thought sleepily, as she closed the drawer and turned out the light.

Chapter Five

Jenni had looked forward to Saturday evening all week, and when it finally rolled around she pulled out all the stops. She took a luxurious bath and shaved all over and picked out a darling, sexy little black dress—with one shoulder bared and silver stripes it was a knock out.

Her three inch stylish black heels, a touch of perfume, her please-fuck-me red lipstick and cute earrings completed the look.
No man could resist this,
she smiled to herself, gazing in the mirror satisfactorily. Charles was waiting for her when she went downstairs.

“Wow, you look stunning, I’m glad you never came to work looking like that or no one would have gotten any work done.”

“Thank you, kind sir.” She smiled. “This is definitely not my work outfit. And you look quite handsome yourself.”

She was glad her outfit had the desired effect and as she entered the car she was careful to flash a good deal of her thigh and was pleased to catch him checking her out with a long look.

He shut her door and got in on the other side and drove them to a new and trendy waterfront restaurant that had received great reviews. Jenni told Charles she had been dying to try it.
Seems like a good start
.

After they were seated, their waiter appeared. “May I get either of you anything to drink?”

Charles examined the wine list and he turned to Jenni, “Do you like wine?”

“Oh, I love wine, especially big bold reds.”

“Great, my choice too,” he replied.

“We’ll have a bottle of the 2002 Caymus Cabernet.”

Wow
, Jenni thought,
that is a great wine, and it has to be at least $300
. “Impressive choice.” she smiled at Charles.

“So, you love red wine? Well, you have passed another big test,” he said with a big grin.

She looked at him quizzically. “Ahh, another test…so do these tests keep coming?”

“But of course, isn’t that what dating is really all about, testing the waters? I mean there’s obviously an attraction or you don’t end up on a date in the first place. So then it’s a matter of how does this person measure up to whatever it is you’re looking for?”

“And how am I doing?”

“Well, let’s see—a fabulous and sexy dress on a very, very beautiful girl, wonderful conversation, very intelligent, great sense of humor, obviously accomplished at work, likes sports, movies, travel and wine. You, Ms. Ryan, are definitely headed for an A, maybe even an A plus,” he concluded.

“Good to know.” She smiled at him coyly.

“So, how am I doing?” Charles prompted her.

“Ahhh, time to grade you—Well, let’s see,”—she looked him over slowly—“A sharp outfit on a handsome, sexy man, and an older man, which is even better. Takes me to a great restaurant I’ve been dying to try, orders a bottle of wonderful Cabernet. Have all those things in common you listed. I would have to say, Mr. Connelly you’re on the fast track to an A or A plus yourself.” They both laughed.

Their waiter returned and Charles tasted the wine and then the waiter poured a glass for each. Charles raised his glass, as if to make a toast, and Jenni picked her glass up.

“To an excellent job done and perhaps even more excellent things to come.” He smiled warmly and moved his glass forward.

Jenni clinked her glass on his, “Definitely!”

“Speaking of a job well done, how did you end up in the world of advertising?” he inquired.

“Well, I was an art major when I went to college but I knew I wasn’t going to stick with that.”

“Why not?”

“Well, I told you before my dad died when I was thirteen and it made things rough on my Mom. He had insurance so we could keep our house and she put some money away so me and my sister could go to college.

“But she had to work hard to pay the bills and keep us afloat so we didn’t have to sell our house. She didn’t have a lot of job skills so had to work as a customer service rep at the local cable TV company. Eventually she became a supervisor and then a manager but she put in long hours at work and still devoted plenty of time to us.”

“That does sound rough, I can’t imagine how hard it was to be a single parent all of the sudden like that,” Charles said with genuine sympathy, he reached out his hand and took Jenni’s hand in his.

“Yeah, it was tough,” Jenni admitted. Charles’s hand felt strong and reassuring. She continued, “So I was determined to put myself in a better position to help her out, help my sister and to be self sufficient. Advertising gave me the opportunity to make good money and to still be creative in many ways.”

“Is that why you went into print advertising, so you could do the artwork?”

“Exactly, and also the fact that everyone was fighting each other over online advertising, leaving print open to someone brilliant like me,” she laughed.

“Well, I would say brilliant is the right term based on what you did for us.”

The rest of the dinner was one of those magical first dates, the kind you see in movies but are rare in real life. Jenni was enjoying herself enormously. The food was wonderful, the wine excellent and the conversation flowed smoothly. After talking with each other a fair amount at work the past few weeks, they were already familiar with each others likes and dislikes and so the conversation continued with deeper and more meaningful topics.

Charles even shared with Jenni his fears about running a company. He had been a software guy—a very successful programmer but always working on his own. Now he had thirty people working for him and a number of investors he was responsible for.

All of that was new to him and a big adjustment in his life. He told Jenni that “Being in charge can be intimidating at times.” Later she would look back with great irony on that statement.

After dinner they took a walk along the San Francisco waterfront. It was a rare balmy summer evening—all true San Franciscans know that after Labor Day is the real summer in the city as the fog retreats off the coast. Charles took Jenni’s hand as they strolled slowly, taking in the soft bay breezes. They stopped in a local bar for a night cap and to keep their conversation going.

After talking for another couple of hours, Charles finally took Jenni home. Her heart was pounding as they walked up to her apartment building, and she stopped and turned to him. He was on the step below her, his handsome face in shadow.

“Do you want to come up for some coffee?”
There is way more than coffee waiting for you
, she thought, hopefully.

He stepped up to her, even with her in heels he towered over her. His hand went behind her head and she felt him entwine her hair around his fingers as he gently pulled her head back. He leaned down and kissed her fully and deeply, and his mouth pressed against hers with just the right amount of pressure.

She opened her mouth invitingly and his tongue moved in softly but firmly as she returned the pressure with her own tongue. The kiss was deep, long and passionate. Her nipples hardened and her pussy was tingling. She could feel her wetness growing and she could also feel his cock stirring as he pressed against her.

It was hard and Jenni was thrilled it seemed to be a good size and she was already imagining how delicious it would feel sliding inside her. The kiss lasted well over a minute and then Charles pulled back.

“I wanted you to be totally clear about how much I want you, how strong my desire is, but I want to wait,” he spoke softly.

Jenni had to catch herself, she wanted to scream—
are you fucking crazy!?
—but managed only a quiet “Why?”

“It’s late and it has been a long but wonderful night. Also we have had a fair amount to drink. I don’t do casual sex anymore and I want our first time making love to be special. If we wait a little bit I know we can create something really special for our first time. Are you on birth control?”

“Yes, I am.”

“Good, let’s both get tested this week, just to be safe, I’d like to be able to feel you without a condom. I’ll make a wonderful dinner for you next Saturday and we will have a very special night. It will be worth it, Jenni, I promise,” he said, looking into her eyes. “Do you have the will power to wait?”

Disappointment filled her, but she smiled at him. “Okay, Charles, I guess it makes sense, and yes, I have the will power.”

A big part of her still wanted to beg him to fuck her, but she would wait. As Charles leaned in and kissed her good night she thought to herself,
I will have to give my vibrator a workout tonight!

Chapter Six

Jenni was in a bit of a fog the entire week. She did not know what to make of Charles not fucking her at the end of what had been a wonderful date. In fact, it had gone so well it was truly the best first date of her life, one of her best dates period. She had looked hot and he was obviously turned on, and she was ready and willing, but still he had made her wait. Plus there was all of Charles’s control stuff.

She wanted a strong man who could take charge, but she was also used to getting her way. And she had vowed not to ever lose control like she had in college when she had gotten so hurt. So far it seemed Charles was completely in control of everything and she wondered if she needed to push back some, to try and grab a little control of her own.

None of those thoughts stopped her from going and getting tested—she was now hornier than she had ever been in her life, and she was not going to allow any excuses for not getting fucked on Saturday night.

Jenni wasn’t worried about being tested; she had always used condoms in her wilder college days except with Kurt, and she regretted that when she found out what a cheater he had been. Since leaving college she had dated only one guy at a time and never went bareback with anyone until they were both tested and she felt confident they were not seeing anyone else.

Looking back she realized she had only been with four guys in the last three years since she moved to the city. And she had only one female lover since then and it was a very brief relationship. She found it had been much easier in college to hook up casually with women.

The women she met now, who she was attracted to, were looking for a relationship. Jenni had never been interested in a long term relationship with a woman; she loved men and a hard cock too much to go without a man for the long term. Having sex with a woman was a nice side dish for her, but the main course would always be a man.

Since moving to the city she had wished there had been a bit more sex in her life but she didn’t have many friends and so her social life had been pretty limited, which made it hard to find a partner or partners she really wanted to be with.
