They looked tanned, rested, and happy.

Dave nodded and handed his VISA card to the clerk. “Very much.”

The clerk processed the credit card and handed it back. “I'll arrange transportation to the airport.”

“Gracias.”

“De nada. Please visit us again soon.”

“We will, señor.” Kathryn picked up her handbag, and led Dave to the taxi stand outside the huge palapa lobby.

He tossed the wrinkled Polaroid photo of Emma Mackay in the trash, straightened the bifocals, pushed his floppy
hat down over the gray wig, and smoothed the false gray mustache.

“Don't make promises you can't keep,” he muttered. “I got Tucker and Simmons. You're both next.”

The clerk glanced at him. “Excuse me, señor?”

“Nada. Estaba hablando solo.”
