I chimed in. “Why did you come Tasha?”

She smoothed her black hair in place. “I saw an opportunity to escape, so I took it. If Angelique could be locked up for somethin’ she didn’t do then what would happen to me? I mean I really did do what they locked me up for aint no doubt about that.”

“I can understand that, but what I can’t understand is why you actin’ all shy girl buddy buddy with me when you had to

know what Omar was planning.”

Everyone looked over at her waiting for a response.

“Who’s Omar?” Sabrina took a sip of wine from her glass.

“Omar is my dead ex best friend and she was his girlfriend.” I filled my sister in.

“Ohhhh shit, now this is getting’ better and better. Ok now what was he planning? Don’t tell me he was tryna kill you.” Sabrina pointed her finger at me.

“Yeah he was plannin’ on it, but I got hip.”

Sabrina took another sip of her drink. “Damn Tyce. It seems like every nigga in California is tryna kill you.”

I had to laugh at that one cuz it did seem that way. Sabrina had no idea how true her statement was.

“What can I say sis? The world is full of niggas who wanna try me. It must be my good looks that make em think I’m soft.” I rubbed my cheeks and smiled.

Tasha jumped in. “Tyce I knew you killed Omar in the bank, but when the police came askin’ me all kinds of questions I didn’t tell em shit! I kept my mouth shut and kept it movin’. That has to count for somethin’. And I promise I didn’t know he was planning on murdering you. I knew he was startin’ to get jealous, but I never thought he would try and clip you behind that shit.”

I weighed her words on my mental scale. Angelique eyed me as I motioned for her to step outside on the deck. Once we were away from the others I expressed my concern.

“Look babe, I don’t want this bitch to throw my plans off. I can’t have her plottin’ and shit while I’m still workin’ shit out you know?” I held her hand.

She squeezed my hand back, “I understand babe, but if you look at it, she has a lot to lose too. And she’s right; she did keep her mouth shut about Omar. Plus she jumped in a fight I had in jail to help me out. Don’t get me wrong, we aint besties but I think she at least earned the benefit of the doubt.”

“Alright, I’ma let her slide, but if she start actin’ funny she gon come up missin’. She can’t stay here. She gotta get off on her own.”

Angelique raised her eyebrow. “Oh now trust and believe I’m done havin’ bitches around my man. I got enough of that with Dallas. I’m not about to have Tasha around you for one more minute than she has to be.”

I smiled. “Yeah, the last thing we need is another crazy woman in our lives.”

The humorous moment took a romantic, yet serious turn as Angelique kissed my lips softly. She added more pressure with the second slow peck then turned her head to the side opening her mouth wider. Her tongue slid into my mouth as we kissed passionately not wanting to stop. It was a slow smooth kiss filled with love. It was the kind of kiss that only comes after long droughts without physical contact from your soul mate. After we temporarily satisfied our thirst for each other we finally parted lips and I looked into her glossy eyes.

“Thank you for rescuing me.” She touched my face tenderly.

I smiled down at her, “Naw babe…thank you for rescuing
me
.”

Step It Up

Dallas knocked on the front door of Tyce’s home for the third time, but he still didn’t answer. It was just after eight o’clock in the evening and him being a no show was putting a real cramp in her come back strategy. In her hand she held a big shopping bag full of baby clothes and various gifts for Khari. She hoped the expensive gifts would crack his hard exterior a bit; allowing her just enough room to slide in.

If it wasn’t for the untimely call from Angelique she and Tyce would have been fucking all over the kitchen floor, but he’d gotten the strength to reject her after he hung up. This evening would be different. There would be no interruptions from desperate incarcerated bitches to ruin her plans of seduction. All she needed to do was remind Tyce of how much he still loved her by reintroducing her pussy to his abandoned dick. The rest would fall into place. The only problem was he wasn’t home to play his part. Dallas decided to call his phone to see where he was.

Tyce and Angelique were sharing a sunset stroll along the beach when the song Paid in Full started playing suddenly. Tyce pulled his phone from his back pocket and peeked at the screen. A look of irritation spread across his peaceful face as he saw Dallas’s number in bright red illumination.

“Guess who it is?” He turned to Angelique.

“Who is it?” She stopped walking.

“It’s Dallas.”

“Let me answer it!” Angelique held her hand out.

Just as Tyce was about to hand her the phone the song stopped playing abruptly.

“Damn, she hung up.” Tyce shrugged his shoulders.

“I’ll call her back. Give me your phone.”

Tyce handed his phone to her without hesitation folding his arms across his chest.

“I’ll talk to the bitch! Oh yeah I definitely wanna talk to this nigga.” Angelique hit the call back button on the touch screen.

Dallas was heading back to her car when her phone rang. She happily hit the answer button.

“Wasup baby? Where are you?” Dallas smiled into the phone.

“He’s walkin’ on a beach with me bitch!”

Dallas stopped walking, “Who the fuck is this?”

“You know who the fuck this is?” Angelique said casually.

“Angelique?” Dallas said in disbelief.

“See, you are smarter than a fifth grader.” Angelique put her free hand on her hip.

Dallas couldn’t believe it was actually her on the phone. She was supposed to be locked up. What the hell was she doing prancing around on a fucking beach!

“Bitch you’re supposed to be in jail! How’d you get…”

Angelique cut her off. “Don’t worry ‘bout all of that! I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”

“Where’s Tyce?”

“He’s right here next to me lookin’ fine as ever! And no he don’t wanna talk to you, so don’t bother askin’!”

A sly smile spread across her face as Dallas had a wicked thought.

“I see you changed the downstairs bathroom. What happened to the peach and tan decorations I put up?” Dallas played with a lock of her freshly curled hair.

“What the fuck are you talkin’ ‘bout? How the fuck you know what color my bathroom is?”

Dallas leaned her butt against the shiny car. She was enjoying this little game to the fullest.

“Because baby girl. I took a loooong hot shower in
your
bathroom after Tyce fucked me on
your
kitchen floor. I was standing there naked the other day waiting for you to finish your little collect call.”

For the moment Angelique was silent and just listened to her arch enemy’s sarcastic replay of the sexual highlights. Her mind rewound back to the last time she called Tyce as Dallas continued to speak.

Yeah the devil might be workin’ over time, but so am I and I always get the job done
.”

Dallas did her best impression of Tyce as she repeated the words he said to Angelique in their last conversation.

Dallas continued her taunt. “Oh I’m sorry, you actually thought he wouldn’t fuck me while your pussy was on lock down? He couldn’t wait to get in my shit. I sucked and fucked him so good he forgot all about you. I called because I came by to give him another round, but he wasn’t home. Oh and because I have some stuff for the baby.”

Angelique’s hands started to shake. Pure rage seasoned with hatred surged through her veins. She wanted so badly to reach in the phone and strangle Dallas, but instead she quietly hung up on her. She stared at the setting sun as it turned the indigo water a pretty purple color. Her mind was in a fog as she digested the nasty comments she’d just heard. She turned to face Tyce who was enjoying the breathtaking view as well.

“Was that bitch in my house?” She whispered.

Tyce sighed a little. “Yeah, she came over to talk late one night.”

“Mmmmhmm, did you fuck her?”

“What?” Tyce’s thick eyebrows furrowed up.

“I said did you
fuck
that bitch in my house on my kitchen floor?” Angelique continued to whisper.

“Naw, I didn’t fuck her. I don’t know what she told you, but I didn’t fuck her.”

Angelique continued to stare at her man as the sun continued to sink into the ocean.

“I don’t believe you. She said ya’ll fucked.”

“What the fuck you mean you don’t believe me?”

“When you say you didn’t fuck her…I don’t
believe
you. It’s jus’ that simple. I don’t fuckin’ believe you’re tellin’ me the truth. I think you’re lying. This bitch was there with
you
in our house listening to you talk to me on the phone! In our house Tyce! While I’m sittin’ my ass in jail, this bitch was slidin’ her ass all over the kitchen floor like a fuckin’ dust mop!”

Tyce backed up a little to air out the situation. This was not the romantic walk on the beach he planned on having this evening.

“Wow, hmmm…that’s all it takes huh? Dallas tells you we fucked and now I’m a liar and a cheater.”

Angelique threw her hands up, “That’s what it looks like Tyce! Tell me truth, did you fuck Dallas?”

Tyce turned his back to her as he walked back toward the beach house.

“I’m goin’ to get some of Sabrina’s tacos.”

“ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!” Angelique shouted after him.

“I already did.” He said walking through the sand.

I Shoulda Cheated

Dallas was on one. I should have known she would pull something like that. I had nothing to hide, so I handed Angelique the phone and let her call the woman. Now why in the hell would I do that if I had something to hide? I bet Angelique didn’t stop to think about that. You know what? She was just insecure because she was slacking on her sex game the whole pregnancy and now she was tossing that insecurity on my shoulders. I’d been nothing but understanding and ultra patient with her the entire time she was carrying Khari. Hell, I even rallied the troops and broke her accusing ass out of jail. Now if that aint love then I don’t know what is.
