"Yes, sir, we do." The two men looked
at each other in confusion.

"Maybelle Wright, should I ask if you are
willing to obey and follow the guidance of these two boys?"

"You could ask, but I couldn't very well
answer without lying," May chuckled. "I'm not very good at
minding."

"Well, that is something your new guardians
will need to work on with you." The judge smiled. "I am also
authorizing your request for a formal name change, to eliminate any future
issues with property ownership and rights to assets."

"Our request?" Layton raised his
eyebrow.

"That was my request, Mr. Marshall,"
Sri said from behind. "The legal system is already so messed up that
something like this will be of benefit in case anything ever happens to either
of you."

"I will also be working with Dr. Adul in
legal referrals to the lodging your family has provided. I've reviewed her
proposal and wish to be an active donator and participant. I offered my
services to set up a board of directors and advisory committee to satisfy state
regulations."

"Thank you, You Honor. I'm, well…"

"Grazatified," May giggled.
"Grateful, amazed and stupefied"

Layton groaned, wrapping his arm around May's
shoulders. "She does that. Makes up her own words."

"We all do, son. You take care and love each
other. Promise me."

"We promise," all three said.

"Sri?" the judge called as they started
to leave. She turned. "Dinner still on for next week?"

"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Sri
winked.

"You are amazing," Layton said to Sri
during dinner at the lake house that night. Clara had prepared a celebratory
meal that included 'half a cow', an 'acre of greens', and a tower of sweet tea.

"I keep telling you that, and yet you
argue," Sri laughed, clinking her glass to May's. "Larry is going to
be the perfect asset to the house. I am so happy he approached me."

"He came to you?" Caine asked.

"I like him," May said.

"He's a wonderful man. No talking with your
mouth full, Maybelle," Sri scolded. "He gets it. All of it. You do
realize he essentially legally married you guys, right?"

"I thought the vows were a little over the
top." Layton chuckled. "I figured he was just being a sentimental old
fool."

"He's that, too. He is also an
age-player."

"What?" Layton and Caine exclaimed.

"Surprised?"

"How long have your known this?" Caine
asked, catching his breath after coughing.

"Since the day he sent little May to live
here. He and your father had 'words'. He warned your dad that she needed more
than what the average facility could offer. That's when I was called in. Larry
and I had a little talk and became, well, better acquainted. It was his idea to
institutionalize the facility and make it legal."

"Are you saying he is supportive of the
unorthodox methods of behavioral control and correction?" Layton was
dumbfounded.

"Very much so. With his support and
referrals, we can make this a school for adult little girls. He also said that
we can provide placement services for them so they can continue their lifestyle
choices. Nothing like this exists, Layton. Nothing! Finally, naturals like May
have a chance to find loving homes where they can be themselves."

"I'm speechless." Layton shook his
head.

"Wow, twice in one day. Is hell freezing
over?" May snickered.

"There's more," Sri said excitedly.
"Are you aware that the lower half of the lake is owned by Hardy
Industries?"

"Yeah, so? They've been sitting on it for
years without development."

"Carlton Hardy is also an APer. He wants to
be involved as well. He wants," she grabbed Layton's hand, "to build
a gated community for our people to go to."

"You're shitting me!" Caine exclaimed.

"Daddy!"

"Sorry, baby. I'm just, well," he
grinned, "shocktillerized."

"That's not a word," May giggled.

"It is now," Caine laughed,
"Shocked, titillated, and surprised."

"I love you." May grinned, looking back
and forth between the two men. She turned to Sri. "I love you, too. You
were right."

"I was? About what?"

"The story you told me about the two-headed
bird that shared one stomach. Sharing a good thing is always good. We're going
to have a big family soon, and I'll have lots of friends to play with one
day."

"You sure will, my precious girl," Sri
hugged her. "You sure will."
