The Real Trap Wives Of Memphis (13 page)

“Yeah, where your bitches at now?” Plum asked, hurling a gravy boat at my head. I looked above her shoulder as three other girls walked in. They all looked like they had been rode hard and put away wet and the biggest one outweighed me by at least 60 pounds. Somehow I knew I would feel every blow they delivered.

“Move cuz I got this,” the shortest one answered as she pulled a knife out of her bra. I tried to throw my hands up to protect myself but I felt every last bit of that blade as it sliced into me. All I could do was scream, but that only enticed the others to jump in. Plum stood there laughing as she sat on a barstool watching. These girls were not gonna stop 'til they killed me.

I woke up to the sound of my heart monitor going haywire. I tried to even get out of the bed but I was hooked to too many machines. My nurse came bursting through the door.

“Ms. Monroe are you okay?” she exclaimed excitedly as she tried to reset my machines. “I want my girls. These bitches tried to jump me!” I screamed.

“Dear you gotta’ calm down. Nobody is going to do anything to you, I promise. I need you to lay back and breathe honey. I sat back and tried to do as she said but my chest continued to heave up and down.

“Sugar your pressure is way too high right now. You gotta take deep breaths and calm down.”

“Please send my girls back. They will calm me down, I promise. I just don’t wanna be in here alone. Please help me.” She held my hand in hers and rubbed gently. “I will call Doctor Rashine for you but you gotta promise me you will breathe. I will get you some water and I want you to relax.” I nodded my head as she finished resetting my machines. When she was done she brought me some water and called Dr. Rashine like she promised.

I sat up in bed and waited patiently for them to come. My dream had been so real. There had to be a message because I hadn’t ever dreamed anything like this before. The pain was starting to kick back in so I closed my eyes and prayed that this shit would soon be over. I turned my head toward the TV hoping that it helped me take my mind off everything that transpired. Empire’s grand finale was on but my mind still wasn't focused on the TV. It was so hard to focus when there was so much going on. The only thing I wanted to focus my mind on was making sure my unborn son was healthy and alive.

My mind was in a million different places. I started listening to my son’s heartbeat on the fetal monitor and it warmed my heart. Tears automatically spilled down my face but they were tears of happiness. Who would have seen this shit coming? I never planned on having kids until another five years or so but hearing his heartbeat had me singing a different tune. God had a different plan for me and it was to be someone's mother. Today was the day that I vowed that I would be changing my ways for the better. No more busting my guns unless someone was trying for harm one of my family members. My son needed his mother and I vowed to be there for him unconditionally, unlike my own drug-addicted mother who hadn’t been there for me.

LEGACY

Today was supposed to be a good day. Things had started falling apart the exact moment I left out of my front door. I knew that the day would be very stressful but never imagined that somebody would end up in the hospital. How was it that the man in your life always had to take you through some unnecessary bullshit? The only thing to do now was just pray for the best. I prayed that my girl Alisha would make it through. I knew that she was hurt by all the screwed up words Kortez carelessly spoke. Hurt people, hurt people, which is the sole purpose of her trying to shoot her husband in the first place.

Hell if I was in her shoes I would have done the same thing to my husband, but I guarantee I wouldn't have missed. My best friend could have lost her life all because a nigga didn’t want to do right by her. I was in deep thought as I watched Makayla go off on Kortez. All that mess Kortez was trying to portray like he loved her, I wasn't feeling it at the moment.  I heard everything he said to Alisha, every spiteful, fucked up sentence. I heard it all then on top of that the doctor came out and said that my girl was pregnant. Alisha was hurt, in pain and expecting her first child. She needed me by her side right now more than ever. For hours I had been in the waiting room quietly and patiently waiting and to be honest every time I looked up at Kortez, I wanted to lie in flat out and put him in the room next to Alisha.

Right about now I could kill Kortez. Matter of fact if my girl had died, we would have been burying Kortez right along with her ass. I was just that pissed off with him. Kortez had the nerve to feel some type of way about some shit that should have never went down in the first place. Clown ass niggas be killing me. I had to remain quiet because if I started talking nothing would have come out of my mouth right so I opted to shut the fuck up. I was ready for some gun play and we definitely didn't need any other incident at this moment. Things may have been calm for now, but Kortez definitely wasn't off the hook for this stunt he pulled point, blank, period.  This was the part of the hustle that went unnoticed in the game.

As I took the long walk with Dr. Rashine down the hall, it seemed as if it was getting longer. I didn't know how to feel or what to expect upon seeing my girl lay-up, hooked to machines, while carrying me a precious little God baby inside of her womb. A part of me wanted to break down and cry, but another part of me knew that I had to be strong for her.

“Hey sister girl, are you okay? I heard that you have a little guy toasting in the oven?”

Alisha tried to turn around to face me and Makayla but she moaned out in pain. I didn't want her to hurt herself because of me so I began to comfort her by rubbing her back and talking to her softly.

“Girl, don't you dare move.  I'm going to walk around to the front of you so that you can see me.”

“Hey honey... Yes, I'm pregnant and I still can't believe it myself. I can't believe I'm going to be someone's mother.”

“What is this thing that they have you hooked up to and what is that noise its making?” Makayla asked walking around to join me.

“Hey Kay, girl you are hearing your little God son’s heartbeat. They are monitoring his heart rate to make sure that nothing is wrong with him.”

“Wow that is truly amazing. I'm so excited about the baby. I know you’re in pain, but how are you feeling?”

“I'm actually ecstatic about the baby, but it hurts every time I make a sudden movement. I guess this is what I get for doing what I did to Tez. Karma biting me in my ass!”

“FUCK TEZ. This is his fault so don't you think for one second that it's your fault baby girl!” I didn’t mean to get so loud with her, but that had really pissed me the fuck off.

“It is my fault. Legacy I brought this on myself. I should have never tried to shoot him. It’s just I got so fucking angry with him. I did everything I could to help his ass. I followed his instructions to the letter and he completely disrespected me for no reason. Sis what did I do wrong?” Alisha started crying hysterically causing the baby monitor thing that was hooked up to her to start continuously beeping like crazy. Next thing we knew nurses and doctors started running in the room.

“Hey, I’m sorry I'm going to have to ask you two to leave because every time the baby goes into distress he loses oxygen. And he has already been in distress twice today,” Dr. Rashine stated.

“I will calm down I promise. Please don’t leave me.” It pained me to see Alisha reaching out to me and I couldn’t grab her. The nurses politely ushered me and Makayla out of the room.

“Doc, just tell her we will be back here first thing in the morning and get some rest. Take care of my sister!” I yelled as the door was being slammed in our face. Makayla and I walked out of the room and headed back to the waiting room. We both looked at each other for answers and found none. I sat down to call Jacori while Makayla rested her head on my shoulder. I was about to have to make sure that Kortez got his issue but my first order of business was to make sure that they had tied up all loose ends. Jacori couldn’t do shit right unless I was standing over him.

MAKAYLA

It's been hell these last couple of days and now all I wanted to do was take a bath, eat and relax my ass in my bed.  Alisha was laid up in the hospital. Legacy had been on hush mode ever since we left the hospital yesterday. The doctor had called us both to tell us that Alisha wouldn't be able to see any more visitors due to her having these crazy crying spells that started every other hour and they needed to run some more tests on her and the baby. Here it was me and Davion’s four year anniversary today, but I wasn't at all excited about it. From the moment I got home all I seemed to be doing was laying in the bed, eating ice cream, worried sick about my girl.

The aroma of freshly cooked eggs, bacon and hash browns filled the air as Davion was in the kitchen cooking it up. He was such a fantastic cook and I never had one complaint when it came to eating his food. He walked inside the room with a food filled plate and some orange juice on a tray. He sat it down on my lap along with a Victoria Secret bag and a dozen roses. He could be so sweet when he wanted to be. He was what I liked to call a street nigga with gentleman tendencies. My ass was definitely in love and married to a thug.  I couldn't shake being away from him too long and I had to admit, I had Davion fever.

As I opened up the Victoria's Secret bag and peeked inside of it, a smile spread across my face wider than the Poseidon Sea. Inside the bag was the new edition of the Sweet Sensational perfume that I wanted to purchase last week, but they told me the collection wouldn't come out for at least another month or so in the store.

There also was a small box wrapped up in white and pink wrapping paper. When I tore into it to reveal a blue box from Tiffany’s, I had to stop and smile at him. I loved me some jewelry from Tiffany's. I damn near broke one of my expensive gel nails trying to undo the ribbons that sealed the box together tightly. Inside was a beautiful two banded platinum and blue diamond encrusted ring. My squeals of joy bounced off the walls of our bedroom. Davion was standing near the door with a huge smile plastered on his face. I jumped out of the bed and tip toed to where he was standing. This was just the distraction I needed from the events of yesterday.

“Thank you. I love you and I love my gifts; especially my new ring, baby.”

“No problem. You deserve it my love. Go ahead and eat your breakfast then get dressed. Our day is just getting started!”

Davion left and I went back to eating my breakfast. Then I called the hospital to check on Alisha to make sure that she was ok. Dr. Rashine had called earlier saying no visitors, but the devil was a lie if he thought that I wouldn't come up there and check on her. If you asked me she was only going through some pregnancy depression. She probably was stressing because she missed her husband and bottling up her feelings only made it harder for her. I knew exactly what she needed to calm her ass down.

First I hit up legacy to let her know that we had to go check on her and bring her some items to help her cheer her up and possibly clear her mind before she had to remain in the damn hospital for an extra few weeks. After Legacy agreed to meet me I went to the kitchen to find Davion washing dishes.

“You got that sneaky ass look in your eyes. What you want, baby? If it’s dick then you gotta wait 'til later. I just slaved over this hot ass stove so a nigga’s tired,” he joked. He looked so happy that I didn’t want to kill his vibe, but I could see now that it was going to be impossible not to.

“Hey bae, I know that you told me to go get prepared to go out on the town, but you know that I wouldn't be happy unless I know that Alisha and the baby are okay. I won't take long!”

His beautiful green eyes took on a sad appearance. “How long will it take you? We have reservations and plans that can't be rescheduled.”

“I know, I will only be gone for two hours at the max, and then I'll be all yours.”

He sucked his teeth loudly, “Okay, go ahead and check on Alisha and tell her that I said what's up. Tell her she needs to talk to my nigga despite what you and Legacy feel. Then you bring dat ass here girl so we can get our shit started off right.

“Fuck Kortez ignorant ass and I'll be sure to tell her that you said hello. I love you."

“I love you too. Don't keep me waiting too long because time is ticking. Tick Tock,” he said tapping his G-Shock watch.

Time was ticking which meant I didn't have long. I didn’t wanna be crunched for time so I decided to get ready for our date now. Even though I would have to go to the hospital all dressed up, I thought that was better than rush my make-up.

“Bae I forgot to do something. I will be right back,” Davion stated. Once I heard the door close behind him I went to work beating my face. I walked over to my vanity sliding out my drawers to reveal damn near every lipstick MAC ever made, as well as my Fashion Fair products. I decided not to over-do it since my dress was going to be my statement piece. A beautiful bronze colored smoky eye, nude lips, and a bronze blush complimented my velvety brown skin perfectly. My lashes were so long and thick that all I needed was one swipe of mascara to make them pop. I walked over to my massive double-door walk-in to see what I would wear for the evening,

Finally deciding on a long fitted royal blue dress to match my new ring and a pair of black pumps, I then pulled my long hair into a glamorous high bun to show off my beautiful face and brown eyes. Davion would lose his mind when he saw how elegant I looked. Hopefully I didn't overdress, but knowing Davion he would be going all out for me as usual. I really didn't know what to expect when it came to him so I expected the unexpected. After showering and getting fully dressed I slipped out the door and went directly to Target to pick Alisha up some get well soon items. Arriving at the hospital within ten minutes of leaving Target, my phone began going off; it was Legacy texting me. She let me know that she would be running a little late. I was waiting on the nurses to give me an issue, but they let me know that Dr. Rashine was on lunch so I had a little time. Legacy needed to bring her ass on.
