Huff...

Huff…

Huff…

“I need to see him!” a blonde, Asian man in his late twenties shouted, stopping in front of the secluded
white mansion.

There were guards all over surveying the perimeters
of the two-story mansion and two guards at the door, both of whom blocked the path of the man who was now panting for air.

“He just got back,” one of them answered, staring at him strangely.

“No, this is urgent. I have to see boss,

now
,” the man said vehemently, pushing past the two guards.

He didn’t wait for their agreement. Whatever it was, it was important enough that he didn’t care to go through the procedure of visiting his own boss.

“Wait! He said he didn’t want to be disturbed!”

The other bulky guard tried to pull him back but the blonde man was able to charge into the mansion like a bull. He veered to the left of the mansion, knowing exactly where his boss would reside after coming home from a trip.

He ran into the dim living room where he found his boss
, who wore a white dress shirt and black pants, sitting on a black leather couch with his wife. She was wearing a beige dress and his hand was caressing her flat stomach.

“PC, you better have a good reason for disturbing me when I’m with my wife,” his boss said severely.

There were suitcases on the floor. It was clear he had just gotten back from a long trip.

PC straightened his black suit and began.
“Boss, I’ve been trying to reach you these past couple of days—”

“Reception isn’t accessible for the places I went,” he whispered coolly. He sighed, looking up at him. “What is it, PC?”

“Boss, this is urgent. I have news from Seoul.”

His boss smirked, already bored with the conversation. “What is it this time? Has Ju Won finally chosen his heir?”

“No, not about that,” PC said swiftly. “It’s more serious than that. Right now, there are rumors circulating in the Underworld about a girl who has appeared by the King of Serpents’ side. The rumors stated that this same girl was the one who killed a bunch of gang members in an alley…”

His boss sigh
ed, leaning against the couch while he held his wife’s hand. “Why should I care who Kwon Tae Hyun’s girlfriend is?”

PC went on, eager to get to the point. “One of them was stabbed with a broken beer bottle. One side of his cheek was completely torn up like fabric.”

His boss stiffened suddenly at this information.

PC hastened to continue. “The same bottle was pierced through the temple of his forehead. His throat was slit and his penis was cut off
too.”

A dawning light of realization not only filtered into his boss’s eyes, but into the eyes of his boss’s wife as well.

PC continued, basking in the same realization. “It is said that she resembles…”

My baby sister
,” his boss whispered, astonishment filling his voice.

Silence flooded the room as the two guards behind PC, along with his boss’s wife, widened their eyes in sheer disbelief. Their eyes rested on their boss, whose composure remained as cool as ever.

Then, without another word, he stood up from the couch, grabbed his
black jacket from the armchair of the couch and then helped his wife up.

His eyes held emotions that were seemingly unreadable.

“Young Jae…” his wife whispered, her eyes already heeding what he was ready to do. “Are you sure you want to go back?”

His answer came in the command he gave to his men.

“Gather the rest of the Scorpions,” An Young Jae ordered sternly.
 “We’re heading back to Seoul.”
