The Beast and the Homecoming Queen (21 page)

“I don’t know what to say or do to make this be
tter for you,” Justin says and she clings to him.

“My mother killed my dad, it wasn’t
a random guy. It was someone he knew. Someone I thought was dead.” Quinn opens her eyes, and tears fall down her face. “What am I supposed to do with this?”

“My love, I can't image what you are going through. But as a
Princess you do have a choice what you want to be done,” Justin says, and runs a hand down her back.

“What do you mean
it’s up to me?” Quinn asks and looks up at her boyfriend.

“If you want you can decide what happens
to her, or the pack leader will,” Justin says, and Quinn nods.

“I won't let my mom die.
I know I should but she is still my mom.” Quinn says, and lays her head back on Justin's chest. “What am I going to do?”

“We will figure it out
, my love…together,” Justin says, and kisses the top of her head.

“What happens now?” s
he asks as he rubs her back again.

Quinn moves her head so she can look at him. “She knows the pack rules, and she killed a pack member. She will tell my dad, and he will decide what to do with her. Unless you wanted to handle her punishment.” Quinn shakes her head, and moves away from him.

She glances at the time, and Justin wasn’t supposed to get out of practice for another hour. “You left practice early for me?”

Justin grins at her. “Quinn I would do anything for you. You need to know that no matter what I am here for you. You have my heart in your tiny hands, so don’t break it.” His smile melts her and she smiles up at him.

“I love how you can do that, make me feel better and you aren’t even trying. I love you Justin Keto with my whole heart. I would be broken if you weren’t here.” Quinn means every word and she gives more of her heart to Justin.

“Well that is good to know, because I am sticking around. I love you Quinn Murphy.” Quinn smiles at Justin, and he winks.

“Eww you two need to get a room.” Quinn turns around to find Lizzy and Kaden standing in the doorway.

Kaden looks
she broke his heart, and Quinn doesn’t know what to do. When she first met Kaden, she wanted to be with him, and a little part of her still does. But Justin has owned her heart since he smiled at her three years ago.

“I'm going to start dinner,
” Kaden says and walks pass Quinn to the refrigerator.

“Justin I want
to show you something up stairs,” Quinn says and smiles at Justin.

“Really?” He says with a grin, and there is loud crashing behind her.

“Eww again,” Lizzy says, and Quinn laughs.

Quinn and Justin walk upstairs and when he stops by her bedroom door she shakes head. She grabs his hand and pulls him down the hall. She stops at her dad's door, and takes a deep breath. Slowly she opens the door, and walks in.

“Quinn what are we doing in here?” She turns around and smiles at him.

“Well my room is too small for
us; I still have a twin bed. With you in it, there isn’t enough room.”

Quinn points to the California king with the new bedding sitting on it. Justin smiles at her and walks to the bed.

“I can't believe you did this.” He turns to look at her. “Quinn, I am fine with your small bed, and small room. I just want to be next to you.” Justin laughs. “We could live in a cardboard box, and I would be happy as long as you are there with me.”

Quinn smiles, and looks at the bed. “I would share my newspaper blanket with you.” Quinn smiles at her laughing boyfriend.

“This is why I love you,” Justin says, and pulls her close to him.

“You want to know what I love about you?” Quinn asks and look
s up at him.

“My looks?” Justin says will a killer smile, and Quinn laughs.

“Your looks help, but I love you because you are going to help me make this massive bed.” She moves away from him and to the bed.

“Anything for you
, my love.” Justin says and removes the plastic from the brand new bed.

Kaden didn’t say anything to Quinn at dinner, he wouldn’t even look at her. She doesn’t blame him, but she can't help that she loves Justin. Justin told her th
at his dad called and there would be a pack meeting about her mother in a couple of days.

She doesn’t really know what she wants to happen with her mother, but she doesn’t want her dead.

No matter what, she is still Quinn's mother, and that has to mean something.

Quinn told Lizzy that she could have her room, Lizzy was hap
py. She has wanted Quinn's room forever, and now it's hers. She opens the master bedroom door, and walks in. Justin is already in bed, and he grins at her.

“I think you get more beautifu
l with every second that passes,” his sweet voice says, and Quinn smiles.

“Sweet talking
will get you everywhere with me,” she says and gets into bed. Quinn rolls on her side so she is face to face.

“That is good to know.” He chuckles. “So I think I remember someone saying we would pick up
where we left off.” Justin runs his fingers down her arm, and she grins.

“I think I need you to remind me
where we left off,” Quinn says, and giggles when he flips her to her back. She stares up into his gray-yellow eyes, and he smiles. He is perfection, and she is amazed that he is hers. “You are so beautiful.”

Justin l
aughs. “I think that is my line,” he says and kisses her.

Quinn has never felt so worship as she did when she was under Justin. He kissed her so
passionately, and she felt her heart opening up more for him. He showed her that he loves her, and the way he touched her made her feel alive. Quinn never wants to feel this with anyone but him, she has found her other half, and never wants to let him go.

Quinn smiles thinking about when they made love, he kept his eyes on hers, and told her over and over how much he loves her. After a crazy night he made everything better by showing that he loves her.

Kaden can feel his heart shattering. He knows what just happened, and he can't take it anymore.

Their scent is filling his nose, he wants to go in there and rip Justin apart. He was here when the bed got here, and the instructions said to set up in the master bedroom.

“Kaden are you okay?” Lizzy sweet innocent voice asks. Kaden controls his emotions when he
turns to face her.

“Yeah I just need some air.” He walks towards the
door; he doesn’t miss her footsteps following him.

Kaden slowly turns around, and Lizzy smiles. He knows she has a crush on him. “Want someone to talk to?” she asks.

Kaden sighs. “Sure, but I want to sit outside.” He opens the door for her.

Kaden sits on the porch swing, and Lizzy sits next to him. “Is this about Quinn?” Kaden looks straight head.

“You will understand when you get a little older. I love Quinn with everything that is inside of me. I know that she is happy with Justin, and that she loves him hurts.” He glances at Lizzy, and she arches her blond eyebrows at him.

“If you love her shouldn’t you want her to be happy with whoever makes her happy?” Kaden is
about to say something, but she shakes her head. “I know she likes you, but she is Justin's girlfriend. You are my favorite though.” Lizzy smiles, and Kaden laughs.

He
takes a deep breath. “I want her happy, but it might kill me. I don’t know how much more I can take.” Kaden closes his eyes.

He feels Lizzy take his hand, and he opens his eyes. “Kaden you are a great guy and you will make some girl very happy.” Kaden doesn’t want some girl he wants Quinn. She is the only girl he had every wanted this much, the only one to make him this crazy.

“I don’t know if there is anyone else for me,” Kaden says and looks down.

“That is bull hockey, you just haven’t met her yet. Kaden she is still out there, and she will make you really happy.” Kaden stands up, and leans on the railing.

“Lizzy it’s more complicated than you think.” Quinn is his mate, he felt it when they kissed. “Look I really need to get out of here. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Yeah but know so
mething I am here for you, Kaden,” Lizzy says and Kaden turns around. He smiles at her then hugs her to him.

“Thank you
, Lizzy, I will keep you in mind if I need you.” He kisses the top of her head, and then pulls away from her.

Kaden pushes his motorcycle down to where he knows Quinn won't
hear him start up. He needs time away from Quinn and her house.

Now she lays in the dark with a permanent smile on her face. Quinn has her head on Justin's bare chest, and she listens to his rapid heartbeat that matches hers. She has never been so happy in her life, and he makes her feel like her life can be perfect again.

“I have never felt so whole before.” Justin says, and Quinn lifts her head
to look at the man that stole her heart. “I have heard stories about true mates, and how the complete each other. When we were making love, I knew what you wanted, I could feel it here.” He takes his chest, above his heart. “Let’s get some sleep tonight.” He winks and she laughs.

Quinn lays her head back on his chest. His heart beat is the only thing she hears as she falls asleep.

Chapter Sixteen

Kaden

After an amazing night,
she walks downstairs.

Quinn walks into the kitchen and notices that something is missing. Well
, not something, but someone. Kaden isn’t cooking and Lizzy is sitting at the table eating toast.

“Hey Liz, where's Kaden?” Quinn asks as she sits at the table with her sister.

Lizzy looks up and shrugs. “I don’t know. All I know is he left last night.”

Quinn knows that he knows what her and Justin did. She isn’t going to tell him that she's sorry, because that would be a lie. Justin is her boyfriend, not Kaden.

Justin walks in the kitchen and kisses Quinn's cheek; he walks over to Lizzy and messes up her hair.

“Hey!” Lizzy yells, and she smiles. Quinn takes a drink of Lizzy's milk.
“I would take a kiss you know.” Quinn chokes on the milk, and Justin laughs. He kisses Lizzy's cheek.

Justin looks at Quinn, and smiles. “Are you okay?”

Quinn nods, and stands up. “Will you bring Lizzy to school?” Justin loses his perfect smile.

“Sure, I’ll walk you to your car. Lizzy sweetie, get what you need for school.” He walks with Quinn to her car, and she knows what she is going to do.

“Justin, I need to find him.” Quinn says, as she turns to face her jealous wolf.

Justin narrows his eyes. “Quinn
, I am allowed to make love to my mate without worrying if my brother is going to get mad, and throw a fit.” He closes his gray-yellow eyes. “You know he wants you to chase him, that's why he did this.” He opens his eyes, and he still looks mad.

Quinn touches his face. “Justin I love you, and I have gave you my heart. I care for Kaden, and I need to know he's okay. I know how he feels about me, and how he feels when we are together. Please don’t be mad at me.” She leans in closer to him. “I don’t like it when you give me your mad face.”

Quinn can see a little smiling tugging at his lips. “I don’t want to be mad at you, but Kaden wants you. I don’t like knowing that he loves you.”

Quinn kisses his lips quickly, and smiles. “I love you, please trust me. I need to find him, he knows about us.”

Justin looks away. “I know he could smell it.” Quinn's eyes widen.

“What?” Quinn says, and her heart nearly stops.

“Yeah werewolves have amazing smell.” He looks back at her, and smiles.

“Oh my gosh, I really have to go.” Quinn turns around and opens her car door. “I love you to Neptune and back.” Quinn says over her shoulder, and Justin smiles.

“And I love you to the moon and back,” he says, she waves at him as she drives away.

Quinn calls Kaden
twenty times, but he doesn’t pick up. She is just about to give up until she spots is blue motorcycle. Quinn parks her car, and gets out. She can see Kaden sitting at a bench in the park.

Quinn walks over to him, and sits next to him. He doesn’t look at her or say anything. “Kaden, I think we need to talk.”

Kaden keeps his face away from her. “I don’t care what you think.” Quinn hears the anger dripping from his voice.

“Kaden
, please.” She touches his arm and he yanks it way.

He finally looks at her, but she doesn’t like what she sees. “Quinn I am sick of seeing you have your happy ever after with Justin when it should be me. We are perfect for each other and you are too scared to admit it. Quinn I know you love me, I can hear your heart race every time I touch you.”
