The Bathroom (3 page)

Alan grabbed her and hugged her hard. “No, no, no, not at
all, I think you could feel it too.” He said soothingly.

“What?” Zoe sniffled.

“We’re soul mates.” His words clutched her heart; she could
feel the truth in them. “I knew we were destined to be together, I have never felt
like this about any one.” Alan hugged her, kissed her, and wiped the tears from
her face until she stopped crying.

Once she felt calm she let out a small laugh. “You know I
have felt this uncanny lure for you, even apparently when you’re in disguise,
but I never trust my emotions, so I just wrote it off as lust.” Zoe looked
around them at their surroundings. “A bathroom is quite the setting to realize you
have found your soul mate, at least it’s mostly clean.” She chuckled at her own
joke.

“I love you.” Alan said and hugged her hard.

A small thrill ran through her body hearing him say that.
She hugged him back. “Well with how I feel I must love you too.” She kissed
him. “You know,” Zoe smiled up at Alan devilishly, “now that we’re together, I
have a wonderful fantasy that involves you, ice cream, and some whipped cream.”

Alan shook his head and hugged him to her. “I knew you were
the one.” They both laughed.
