Chapter 24

Bone’s gaze snapped around and he stared at Molly standing just outside the door of the room were Tank was supposed to be watching her and the other women. He wanted to walk in that room and beat the shit out of Tank for letting her come out here. The Bandit’s had come here to try and take his Molly. That was just not gonna happening, which meant this could get ugly fast. He glared in fury at Tank who came out of the room to stand behind Molly.

Carl’s bushy brows formed a scowl as he too
k in Molly standing behind Bone and his brothers. Bone had turned to looking at her with a similar scowl. He looked at Tank who stood behind her with fury. Uh-oh this was getting kinda ugly she thought as she watched the men. “Molly, go back in there and wait with Tank. I will handle this.”

“No
, Lucca.” Molly said as she moved into the room avoiding Tank who tried to catch her before she could move away from the door. “Carl what are you doing here?” She asked the man she thought of as a second father.

“Molly, get
back in that room right now!” Bone snapped harshly, his hands landing on her waist he tried to move her back from the other men with a forceful abruptness. Her hands came up landing on his shoulders. Carl moved to stop him from forcing her back into the room.

“NO!” Molly screamed in
Bone face. Even as the man who’d been standing in front of the small group moved to stop Carl from trying to grab Lucca to keep him from manhandling her.

“Lucca, stop it!” She demanded
, glaring at him. “I will handle this myself!”

Lucca looked pained
, and then he leaned forward his forehead resting on hers with a resigned sigh. His arms were around her waist his hands resting on her hips. “Just don’t leave me.” He whispered agonizingly, and she realized why he was so panicked by her being involved in this situation. He was afraid she was going to go with Carl as he was obviously insisting.

Molly smiled gently and whispered back. “Never.” Then she turned
back to the other men. Bone allowed her to turn, but he refused to release her holding her hips to keep her near him.

“Let’s sit down.” Molly suggested with a
gesture towards the couches near the fireplace. Carl moved to the couches, as did the man who had been standing in the front of the small group of men.

“Now tell me what’s going on?”
Molly said when they were settled with Bone on one couch, her on his lap, him having pulled her there the minute she sat down, and the other men on the couch across from them.

“You’re coming with us
, Molly.” Carl burst out with a dark glare at Lucca.

“No. I’m not leaving the
Red Devils, Carl.” Molly said with a frown at his forcefulness. This was very unlike Carl. He was usually an easy man to get along with. Carl was still glaring at Bone, and he began to speak again only the other man interrupted him.

“Maybe we need to listen to her Carl. She wants to stay. Hear her out. Then we can decide what needs to be done.” The man with dark blonde hair and bright green eyes
that met hers with a surprisingly kind look said. He had a weathered look about him with crow’s feet at the corner of his eyes and laugh lines on his face. He was handsome with a build similar to Bone’s. She nodded at him. He seemed to at least be reasonable perhaps talking to him would solve this dilemma.

“Thank you. Umm…you are?” Molly asked wanting a name.

Feeling a rumble beneath her she heard Bone speak. “His name’s Death Rider. He’s the Blue Bandit Prez.” He looked at Death with another fierce look.

“Uck…really?” She asked without thinking of the insult she was dealing the man.

“Molly!” Lucca screeched at the same time Death roared out a laugh.

“I see she’s a handful
, huh Bone.” He said still laughing.

With a sigh
, grateful the man had a since of humor, he replied. “She defiantly keeps me on my toes. Though she isn’t normally rude.” He glowered at her darkly unable to believe that in a tense situation like this one she had actually said that. Most bikers didn’t take well to being insulted, and Molly had just unintentionally dealt the man one the man.

“Sorry, it’s still quite a change to not have real names for people
, and you have to admit yours doesn’t sound friendly.” Molly said sheepishly blushing slightly.

“It’s okay. I can’t say that I a
m super friendly.” He said with a devilish grin before continuing. “I’m here because one of my riders has a prior claim to you.” He indicated Carl with a nod of his head.

“The hell he does!” Lucca’s grip tightened on her as he clutched her to him.

“Calm.” She said running her hand down his arm to soothe him. The Bandit Prez watched the byplay with a thoughtful expression in his eyes.

“Molly, how can you want to stay with this animal!” Carl demanded with a thrust of his hand toward Bone as he glared at them all.

“Carl, what are you on about? Luc-Bone is not an animal.” She said shocked by his behavior he was normally a very reasonable man. Carl stood intending to move closer only to be stopped by the man beside him restraining hand.

“He left the
proof of it on your cheek Molly!” Carl boomed, and finally she realized what he was so upset over.  She laughed with true mirth this would be much easier to fix than she had anticipated.

“No, Carl
. Bone would never hurt me. Not ever. It was the Jackal’s that kidnapped me a few days ago who did this.” She indicated her cheek. Bone was clutching her to him and he’d growled when Carl had yelled at her. He did not like another man taking that tone with her. Molly ran a hand down the arm that held her again with a soothing murmur before she continued. “Bone killed the men involved with that debacle.” Carl sat back down as he watched her face with his mouth hanging open a little in shock at what she’d just said.

“He…you mean he didn’t hit you?” He asked a little bewildered as he s
at back in his seat.

“No
, he didn’t hurt me. Carl, you know me. Would I ever stay if someone was hurting me?” Molly firmly reiterated watching as Carl’s face cleared a bit losing its dark scowl.

“I thought
I did, but when I saw your face and thought that he’d hurt you. Then you were refusing to leave, so I wasn’t sure.” He watched her face as she beamed at him. “You really want to stay with him?” He asked again.

“Yes. Luc-Bone makes me happy.” Molly said feeling Lucca’s lips caressing her neck with tiny kisses. Smiling
, she looked up at him, and he looked down at her with a look that told her that he loved her. That look stole her breath. Then Lucca was looking at the Bandit Prez.

“I will not negotiate
. You can leave without my woman. She’s MINE.” Shocked by his declaration, Molly turned to look at him a little awed. He just watched her as he pulled her forward planting a gentle kiss on her lips that were still parted.

“Well then I guess that’s settled.” Devil said with a loud laugh of disbelief.

“Wh-what…I thought you said this club…wasn’t a place for a woman.” Carl said confused as he met Molly’s eyes when Bone finally released her.

“That was before I knew she was property. Clutch, if she’s property the only way we leave with her is
if they’re all dead.” Devil’s voice was resigned as he quietly spoke to Carl, and he looked at him with a quite apprehension. Molly knew that if Carl protested the Bandit Prez would go to war with the Red Devils.

“Can I speak with Carl alone?” Molly asked trying to avoid the
need for the two clubs to war with each other.

“NO.” Lucca said with a growl as his hand
, which now rested on her upper thigh clenched, holding her on his lap. Bone wanted to keep her close. He was afraid that if she was alone with a man he knew she thought of as her father in many ways he might somehow convince her to leave him. He hadn’t had the chance to give her his patch yet and tell her that he loved her. He’d had the whole night planed before these yahoos had shown up to ruin it.

“Lucca” She whispered waiting until he met her eyes. “It’s okay. I’m just going to talk to him.”

“Molly, baby, we haven’t talked yet. It was something I was gonna take care of tonight. I…” She placed her hand on his mouth stopping the flow of agonized words as she frowned at his insistence that she listen. She wasn’t going to leave him. She didn’t understand the fear that filled him. He should know that she wasn’t leaving him. She loved him didn’t the insane man know that meant she was here to stay?

“Stop. It’s okay
, just let me talk to him and we can talk about us later.” She said as she dropped her hand from his mouth.

“Promise you won’t go with him.” Bone demanded.

“I promise.” She quickly responded. He nodded curtly then helped her get up holding the skirt of her dress down to preserve her modesty. He stood beside her. Carl stood with Death and she looked at Lucca to see where they should go to talk, and he indicated another room off to the side of the bar. She walked towards the door he indicated with Bone close behind. When they all reached the door Bone stopped her again looking into her eyes with a serious expression.

“I will let you step in there to talk to him, but the door stays open.” His voice was set in stone and she didn’t bother arguing with him
. Nodding she walked into the room seeing that it was a stock room for the bar. As Carl walked by Lucca, he stopped him too saying. “You hurt her, even emotionally, and I will kill you.” His voice rang with finality.

Molly sighed and sat
down on a crate pulling at the hem of the skirt to keep it in place. Bone was still being overprotective, but as she watched the two men in the doorway she saw grudging respect fill Carl’s eyes as he nodded and stepped into the storeroom.

“So,” Carl began as he took a seat on a crate near her. “You love him.”
He said without preamble as he looked at her.

“Yes.” She said simply not surprised he could read her so easily.

“I see.” Carl ran a hand across his face waiting a beat before saying. “He didn’t hurt you?”

“No, I already told you that the Jackal’s did it and now there all dead.” Molly said waiting for Carl to say what was on his mind.

“And you’re okay with the fact that he killed them?” Carl watched Molly carefully.

“Yes, I am. They were about to gang rape me
, Carl. I can’t feel much remorse over them being dead.” Molly was a little scared that he wouldn’t like this new person she’d become and he would be disgusted by her. It wasn’t that she would change back into the woman she’d been before she left the city, so much as that she wanted to know that at least one person from her previous life still cared for her.

“You’ve grown out here haven’t you kid?” He questioned a slight smile coming to his face as he examined her.

“Yes.” Molly said frankly, waiting for him to say something.

“I can see I was worried for nothing. When I finally got to the Bandits yesterday to see if you made it I almost died when they said you hadn’t. Then
Death and Blade began checking around and heard a rumor that a new female mechanic that had started working at Trick’s Auto repair in Red Devil territory. I knew it had to be you. I insisted we come here to find you. When we rolled into a nearby town we asked around found a woman who was willing to talk, and when we asked if she knew you she said ‘Oh you mean the on that there beating?’ I freaked when I heard that.” Carl paused here meeting her eyes and she knew that he’d been even more worried when he heard that story.

“Death
said that it might not have happened the way the woman thought. He knew Bone and it didn’t sound like him, but I wasn’t in the mood to listen. When we got here Death told me that he was going to do all the talking and perhaps we could just pay them for you. Then you’d be able to come with us without a huge fuss. But your young man wasn’t about to allow that.” He chuckled a bit as he said the last.

Smiling
, Molly said “I imagine not.”

“Yep. I was of course ready to kill him to take you away from here. Then you told me you weren’t willing to leave and I lost it a bit. I couldn’t understand why you would want to stay with a man who beat you.
” Molly’s heart squeezed a bit at his words.

“I wouldn’t.”

“I know, but when you look all bruised up and the man’s acting like a neanderthal what was I supposed to think?” Carl leaned back against the wall behind him smiling.

Well, not that, Carl. Bone and the Red Devils have become my family now.” Molly leaned forward a bit still tugging at her skirt.

“Well
, at least I can be secure knowing that he won’t let anything happen to you.”

“No
, he won’t. He’s actually driving me crazy being overprotective. He has everyone stopping by to check on me.
All. The. Time
.” Her voice was filled with her frustration at his highhandedness, which caused Carl to let out a loud booming hoot of laughter.

“Oh
, sweetheart, I’ve missed you. It breaks my heart knowing that I won’t be escorting you off on one of your adventures anymore.” Carl eyes filled with sadness as he spoke of the times they had gone to abandoned buildings looking for the manuals she love so much. Strange how it had only been a month or two and yet it seemed like a lifetime ago.
