Acknowledgements

My thanks go out to the many people who have helped to make this book possible. First to my husband, for giving me the chance to follow my dreams, and of course to my family – especially my children and my parents – for believing in me and listening to me go on and on about mermaids. Special thanks go to Brian for being my first beta reader and content editor, and for finding that first
transmutare
stone on the beach.

Thank you to Marlene and Stephanie at Crescent Moon for believing in my story, and to Kathryn for being such a wonderful editor. And big hugs to all my fellow Crescent Moon authors, who form such a supportive network. It’s great to work with you all!

Spending so much time on Cape Cod makes describing the beach and ocean easier, but other information needed to be gathered, such as the names and descriptions of different sea creatures and the geography of Oklahoma. Most of my research for this book was done online, but a special thanks goes out to Jane Sugden, who lives in the “real” windmill house. It’s been a pleasure to be your neighbor, Jane.

And a last heartfelt thanks goes to Nickey, my writing cohort and partner in both whine and wine. Everyone should be lucky enough to have a friend like you.
