Sinful's Desire (6 page)

Chapter Eleven

Marlee heard the door to the room shut and she cried. What the hell was wrong with her? Looking in the mirror, she saw herself. She looked wild, her hair still messed up from their lovemaking, and her face blushed with desire. Then she stared at her lips, in the corner of her mouth was a small drop of blood, she froze.

Shit
, she thought and then ran to the shower and turned it on. She didn’t even have time to appreciate the luxurious surroundings, needing to get the blood off her. She didn’t even understand what had happened.

The water was scalding when she stepped in and raised her face to wash it. Then she opened her mouth, as if the water would wash the blood from her insides. Marlee shivered, how could she have done that?
Shit
, was she going to become a vampire now. Still unable to believe she had drank blood, but no matter how much water ran through her mouth, the spicy taste of Sin's blood remained—a taste she would never be able to forget. The thoughts swirled in her head as she showered. She stepped out of the shower, catching her reflection again. Wiping away the steam from the mirror she looked at herself closely, was she paler, or fading? Vampires couldn’t see their reflections, right?

She sunk to the floor in tears, wondering what the hell she had gotten herself into.

“What does it say?” Sin demanded of Cillian.

Since entering his office, Sin and Cillian had been scouring the books, which Sin had collected over the years. Some of them were from older vampires, diaries of sorts he had found after they had been killed.

“Do you remember the vampire we found on the Cliffs of Moher?” Cillian asked.

“The one who lived in the small lighthouse that is there?” Sin asked and Cillian nodded. “He was crazy, secluded himself up there to prey on tourists. We had to take him out.”

Cillian nodded, it had been only thirty years ago when they had heard of the man. He had hidden well in the caves close to the cliffs. When they finally found him the man had been crazed, talking and mumbling about finding the one again. Sin had tried to help the man, but he had been nuts. They ended up having to kill him in order to keep humans safe, it didn’t make it easier to kill a fellow vampire.

When Sin had become Lord of Ireland after killing the previous evil lord, he had made an effort to change things. Under the previous rule, vampires had been allowed to do as they wished, killing and drinking from humans as they wanted without any rules. The humans had been fearful, having created many folklores to explain the deaths. Some had even discovered their secret, and in an effort to remain hidden, Sin had been forced to turn them. So he made the decision to kill any vampire whom refused to change their ways, and accept those into his clan who did. It had taken years to find all the evil creatures, but they had.

“What does it say?” Sin said absently. His thoughts quickening as he read from a book he was holding, thinking he may have come across something.

“When we found him, remember, he was spouting off about finding the
one
?” Cillian said slowly.

“Yes,” Sin said, paying closer attention now.

“According to his journal, he was referring to the female whose blood called to him. He writes, with one taste it intoxicated him, but she ran. For years, he sought her out, feeling a connection yet not being able to find her. It drove him mad,” Cillian said.

“I have a similar account here. A fisherman who discovered a man whose blood did the same. Except he and the man remained together, feeding only from him for the rest of his life. Where was the journal found?” Sin asked quickly.

Cillian looked at it and shrugged. “Some of the journals we bought in estate sales.”

“Listen to this,” Sin said and stood. “I have found my mate, the only one my maker said is meant for me. His blood is the only thing that can nourish me now, if he dies—I die, if I die—he dies, our lives intertwined for eternity.”

“What?” Cillian asked. “How long did the human live with him?”

Sinful looked at the last page in the journal, none of this made sense, humans' lives were not tied to theirs. They could drink from them, but unless they turned them, humans would only live their normal life span.

“We have lived for a hundred and fifty years together, my husband is sorrowful now. His family dead, and all those he knew have left this land. He has no desire to live forever, and to be honest, without him, neither do I. We have decided, tomorrow we will die together, when the sun rises we will bask in its warmth in each other's arms one last time before we do what needs to be done.” Sin finished reading and looked up. “Could it be?”

“One human for us to mate with?” Cillian asked and then frowned. “Why would it matter? We can drink from humans as it is. What makes the one’s blood so much better?”

“This is why,” Sin laughed. He had flipped back through the pages of the journal. “Since finding Jeremy I have noticed a change in me. I can walk in the sun for the first time in a century. The first time was an accident, I had been stranded on the boat during a storm, Jeremy found my boat which was adrift, being starved I bit him, and he ran. I chased him into the sun without caring. It had stung, but I had not burnt to my death. Jeremy had calmed down, because he felt a pull. After drinking my blood from a cut I sustained, we became bonded. We experimented, and found I now have new powers. We are not speaking of it to anyone, as it would make us vulnerable.”

“We need to read more of the journals, see if any of them have a similar story,” Cillian said absently.

“Only you and I will know if this,” Sin warned and his friend nodded. “I need to speak to Marlee, see what she is feeling.

*****

Marlee had laid down after she had dressed in a robe she found, she was exhausted, the door had been locked and she was stuck in Sin's chamber. Her emotions were all over the place, but the only thing she could think of was Sin, where was he and when was he going to be back.

Sin pushed aside the silky robe that had taunted him with glimpses of her full breasts, her soft curves. His mouth traveled from her lips to her shoulder, lingering on her sweet smelling skin, then moving down to bite gently at first one breast, then the other, until he had taken each of her sweet, firm nipples into his mouth, grazing them slightly with the points of his fangs.

It was enough to draw the faintest drop of blood, the taste exploded on his tongue as he lapped at it gently, wanting more from her. While his mouth nibbled one breast, his fingers caressed the other, pinching the nipple until it was peaked and ready for him, feasting on her ripe nipples, Sin was taking as she offered greedily.

Over and over, she cried out her pleasure, little moans that sent sparks of hunger coursing through his body, driving him nearly mad with the need to sink his teeth into her neck, his cock into her pulsing heat. He wanted to share the feeling with her, the overwhelming desire to claim her. Sin smiled and stepped back, he smiled as he looked in her lust filled eyes and bit gently on his finger, breaking the skin and holding it out to her. She could already feel what he was feeling and she knew what he wanted.

Marlee grasped his hand, brought it to her lips, and sucked on his finger. Sin closed his eyes as he felt the tug of blood leaving his body. Together they felt the connection burning though them. Marlee sighed, the feeling of love and belonging swept through her, she would never leave this man, because he was the other half of her soul.

She was tugging at his clothing suddenly, complaining softly as her hands sought to touch his skin, tearing away his jacket and yanking the sweater over his head. She was desperate and he could feel it. He stood to rip off his pants, and Marlee came with him, her slender fingers pulling at the button. Slapping Sin’s hands aside, she sunk her hand into his pants. Marlee grinned at him seductively while she pulled his hard cock, freeing it from the confines of his pants. She took him in her mouth, shoving his pants down below his hips, sucking him deeper as his full length was freed, her tongue playing along his sensitive head.

He groaned, struggling to control the desire to plunge into her throat, to fuck her hot, wet mouth as he would the slick pussy between her legs. He gripped her head in his big hands, fingers twisting in her hair, as she glided up and down, her wicked tongue licking him like a favorite candy.

When he could stand no more, he tightened his hold and pulled her away with a muttered oath, pushing her back onto the bed, then following and trapping her there, tasting her, teasing her with biting kisses until she cried out, tearing at his hair and forcing him down to her pussy. Cupping her ass with both hands, he lifted her to him, spreading her legs, opening her wide to his exploring mouth. His tongue slid into her swollen folds, probing inside her, then stroking upward to her hard clit.

She gasped in shock as his tongue circled the sensitive nub, rousing it to hardness, then biting down to draw the sweetest blood of all, the taste lingering as Marlee screamed in orgasm, her body bucking against the grip of his hands, his mouth. Shudders rippled her muscles beneath him as he lapped up the delicious juice of her orgasm, eliciting renewed cries of pleasure from Marlee.

“Mo Chroi,” he whispered, blowing softly on her sensitive clit. “So sweet.”

“Please,” she whispered. “Oh God, Sin, please.”

Desire overwhelmed him. He lifted himself from between her legs and drove his cock deep inside her with a powerful thrust that lifted her from the bed.

She groaned with pleasure, wrapping her legs tightly around his waist, trapping him, holding him in the scorching heat of her pussy. He lowered his head to claim her mouth once again, mingling the tastes of their bodies, tasting himself on her tongue, letting her taste her own sweetness on his. He plunged in and out, driven by a lust he’d never felt before, claiming her, marking her as his own so no other vampire, no other man, would ever dare take her from him.

When he felt his climax building, felt the tightening in his balls that told him he wouldn’t be able to resist her temptation much longer, he let his mouth find the sweet vein in her neck, letting his fangs drop completely to caress her skin and sink into her. Hot blood slid down his throat as his come shot deep inside her.

Marlee convulsed beneath him, joining him in an overwhelming orgasm, muffling her screams against his shoulder as her nails clawed his back open once again. He collapsed on top of her, his tongue lapping lazily at the trickle of blood from her neck, feeling her heart pound against his chest.

Her legs fell open and he shifted slightly, taking the weight of his body off her slender frame. His cock slipped from within, and she murmured a small protest, one long leg coming up to wrap around his hips, holding him close, nestling him in the warm, wet valley between her legs.

Sin raised his head and chuckled softly. She opened her eyes at the sound and a fresh bolt of lust stabbed right through his heart. He growled low in his throat. She felt their connection, and her eyes widened.
They were mated
, she thought and then frowned as she wondered exactly what that meant.

“Marlee,” Sin whispered into her neck. When he had come into the room, she had been moaning. When he joined her on the bed, she had attacked him. Sin had not been able to resist the pull of their connection and so he had taken her again.

When he came out of the sexual haze they created, he looked down at Marlee—no doubt left, she was his.

“Sin?” Marlee muttered and opened her eyes. “Shit, that was real?” she whispered.

Sin smiled and nodded. “Very, and also very good.”

Marlee blushed and sighed, her eyes swung up to his and she frowned. “Wait, what is a mate?”

Sin stiffened above her and said. “Get dressed, we need to talk.”

Chapter Twelve

Talk?
she laughed to herself,
hell yeah, they were going to freaking talk
. He had bolted from the room once again when she had asked her question. Who the fuck does that twice to a woman?

Although this time he had ordered her to come to his office when she was dressed. Fine, she was going to play this his way for the moment. She would go to him and allow him to explain what the hell was going on.

As she opened the door, she smiled to the man who was standing before her. He had been guarding her door, she assumed.

“Oh hi, Sin said I was to come to his office?” she said hesitantly. She had no idea the protocol here. Hell, the last time she had been here, she had escaped.

“I am your escort,” the man said.

“Oh good, I don’t think we have met have we?” she asked politely and then she closed the door behind her. She liked Cillian, and some of the other men she had met, this one not so much. She got some bad vibes from him.

“No, we have not,” the man said and continued down the hallway, assuming apparently she was expected to follow, which she did slowly. The manners of vampires were certainly something less than desirable.

Marlee shrugged and followed him as he walked down the hall and then another, until she was completely confused.
Where the hell was his office?
she wondered as they kept walking. Marlee went to ask the asshole vampire where they were going when he stopped suddenly and turned.

“Uh, okay, here?” she said and the man nodded slowly and then grabbed her arm. “Hey,” she yelled and then there was darkness.

*****

“Sire, Marlee was not in the room,” Cillian said slowly as he walked back into the office. Sin had come back throwing the books around, searching for something without a word to Cillian. The only thing the man did was order him to go and bring Marlee to him.

Sin’s head snapped up with a frown. “What did you say?”

“Marlee is not in the room,” Cillian said.

Sin close his eyes, damn it, when she had said the word mate, Sin had felt something in his mind click. Something long forgotten had rushed back to him. Instead of stopping to explain, he had left her. Damn it to hell. Would she ever stop running from him?

“She is probably pissed,” Sin admitted.

“Why?” Cillian smiled.

“'Cause she is a woman,” Sin said and shook his head.

The phone on his desk rang and Sin answered it, “What?”

“Sire, someone opened the back gate. The silent alarms as going off,” one of his guards said.

Sin had installed silent alarms years ago, however, only a choice group of trusted men knew the codes and where the sensors were located. One of them was on the back gate that few people used.

“Marlee,” Sin growled.

“Sire?” the guard said.

“Reseal the gate. I will take care of it,” Sin said.

“Sire, I am not sure what you are talking about, but one of the men is saying there are three vans leaving the estate through the gate,” the guard said.

“Fuck,” Sin roared and threw the phone. “Go to the house cameras, find out who the hell took Marlee.”

Sin called out orders as he walked down the hallway. As they entered the security office, the guards were already moving. Within moments, Sin knew he was betrayed by one of his own.

“Bring him to me now.”

Cillian barked an order and the room was silent. Sin stood still staring at one of his children hitting Marlee over the head, then opening the back door, and allowing strange vampires into his home.

Sin narrowed his eyes and stared at the strangers. They would not live to see the next night if he had anything to do about it. He heard the rustle of something behind him and he turned.
Patrick
.

“Sire, I don’t know why they are bringing me here,” Patrick whined.

Sin snapped at him. “Cut the act. You were caught on tape.”

It was as if a transformation took place. The weak, whiny vampire they had known suddenly hardened and glared at Sin. “Good,” he sneered. “I was sick and tired of groveling to you anyway.

“Patrick, where is she?” Sin ordered. He was still his child, and he would be forced to answer a direct question from his Sire.

The man laughed. “You don’t have to force me. I was left here to deliver the message. I have no problems telling you where your blood bitch is.”

Cillian growled, stepped forward, and punched the man quickly. “Show some respect.”

Patrick grinned at his second and then turned back to Sin. “Respect? Like he has shown us? How about Tara? How much respect did you show her?”

“Who?” Sin asked.

Patrick screamed. “The only woman who ever meant a thing to me—Tara. The one you drink from, the one who is meant to be mine. You never ask though do you, you just take. There is nothing anyone here can do, she is mine!”

Sin glared at the man and said, "I have no idea who you are talking about.”

“You wouldn’t, the powerful Sin Donovan, the Lord of Ireland, his word is law. You have drank from my intended,” the man growled and Sin’s eyebrows rose. Not possible, he would never take what is another mans.

“Explain yourself,” Sin commanded.

“The night before the rugby match, you called on Tara yet again. You had already sampled her, and couldn’t leave her alone. I told her to tell you about us, but she refused, eager to please the great man. When she returned she was so happy she pleased you, it was all she could talk about,” Patrick yelled.

Sin nodded. “There was a woman, however, she was claimed by no one.”

“She was claimed by me,” Patrick yelled. “She refused to tell you.”

“So because I drank from a woman who I had no idea was being claimed, you have allowed strangers on my property. You allowed them to take what is mine,” Sin roared.

“Yes, Dante knows how to treat his men. He allows them to stake their claim on women,” Patrick growled. “Once you are gone, Tara will no longer care about pleasing you. She will only worry about pleasing me.”

“Dante?” Cillian said as he saw Sin’s eyes grow black with rage.

“Yes,” Patrick laughed. “Dante is going to take over Ireland, and then Europe. He is going to show his loyal followers favoritism. Giving the blood whore to him solidifies my place at his table. Dante believes in the old ways. A vampire who believes as I do, humans are weak, we have to get them under our control.”

“When did you meet this man?” Sin asked.

Patrick laughed. “You should really look closer when you kill a vampire.”

Sin frowned. “What are you talking about?”

“Oh, you spout so much crap around here. How you wanted to take care of the vampires in Ireland. How you were going to lead them into a prosperous new world. What about those who you destroyed?” Patrick scoffed. “You killed Dante’s maker and left him for dead. He told us all about it. He was an innocent, and you walked away, leaving him in hell as he fought to live after you severed the bond with his maker.”

“I have never done that. Every vampire I have killed was rabid, and they had no children, they only wanted to kill humans,” Sin roared.

“Wrong, you killed Dante’s maker and left him in pain. You do what you want and do not care about the consequences,” Patrick yelled back at Sin.

“You are right,” Sin said calmly feeling a rage he had never felt before. He held out his hand and Cillian put a stake in it. Without another thought, he jabbed it into his child and dusted him. “Find this Dante before the sunrise. No one will take what is mine, no matter who the fuck they are.”
