She's a Star (a Hollywood Hotwife story) (26 page)

There was a DJ providing the music in the corner of the main room of the suite, and as Liona dragged me to what might be construed to be a dance floor if anyone had actually been dancing on it, the man behind the wheels of steel segued effortlessly into a smooth, more romantic track.

Liona put one hand in mine, and then her other arm draped over my shoulder, and we began to gently move to the music.

“You okay?” she asked, smiling up at me.

“Uh…yeah,” I said, returning her smile as warmly as I could. “Just a little… you know… surprised…”

“Came out of nowhere, huh?”

“Yes.”

“You didn’t talk about this with her before?”

“Nope. You?”

“No. So you think she’s serious?” Liona said.

I glanced over in the direction of that couch, but Hayley was standing much closer, in the doorway of this largest room in the suite. She flashed me an encouraging smile as I looked her way.

“I guess she is,” I said. “I’m not quite sure how to deal with it, though.”

“You don’t think it’s a good idea?” she said, her apparent contentment faltering slightly.

“It is if she’s doing it for the right reasons,” I said. “And I guess I have to trust her that she is. And that she can handle this.”

Liona smiled again. She said, “You think she might not be able to handle this?”

“I don’t know.”

“So let’s test her out, huh?” Her green eyes flashed mischievously, and Liona leaned into me, her other arm reaching up around my shoulder. My hands had nowhere to go but to clutch the small of her back.

“This is nice,” she said as we danced slowly, cheek-to-cheek. I was breathing in her sweet perfume as we danced, feeling the heat of her body as I gently touched her back, even through her dress.

It seemed strange to me, being so close to a woman who was not my wife.

We turned slowly as we danced, and I could surreptitiously see Hayley as she watched us. She was still smiling, at least.

“Would you prefer to try this with someone else?” Liona asked quietly as we continued to move.

I said, “No… not if you’re… you know… okay to try it.”

Her pretty face broke into another smile at that. Right answer. “I never thought I’d go for a married man,” she said, and I had to admit, there were butterflies in my chest at the thought that this beautiful young woman had thought about going for me.

“Are you religious?”

“No, not a bit. But I’m a Southern Girl at heart, I have all these traditional values.”

I grinned. “So what happened?”

“I moved to LA.”

I saw that a few more couples had come to join us on the dance floor, which made it much more apparent that the numbers at the party in general had thinned quite a bit recently.

Pulling her head back from me, to stare in my eyes, Liona asked, “Would you be disappointed if she can’t handle this? If she tells us to stop at the end of our dance?”

I thought for a moment or two. “You’re very beautiful, Liona. Any guy would be lucky to be with you. But I could never be disappointed that my wife has gone on this incredible adventure….”

She smiled. “I’d be disappointed.”

I said, “I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed, let’s put it like that.”

“She seems okay with the dancing,” she said, then added: “Let’s try her on a little more….”

Liona slowly eased her face close to mine, tilting her head slightly as she pulled me in for a very tender, delicate kiss. It was short, and it was sweet, and really very innocent, although there was a clear affection within it.

I looked over at Hayley, who was now being talked at by some older gentleman who I’d never seen before, but at the same time was continuing to watch us closely. She’d definitely seen the kiss, and I could see her beaming from ear to ear.

“I think that went down okay,” I said.

Liona grinned, and immediately pulled me into another kiss. This time it was considerably more full-on, the pretty blonde holding my head in her hands and pressing her body to mine as our lips tangled. I melted into it, and we were feverishly sucking on each other’s faces, chewing gently on lips and slipping tongues in each other’s mouths.

I managed to look over toward Hayley again, and saw a slightly perplexed but interested expression on her face as she dealt with her first experience of her husband displaying a little passion with another woman.

I broke away from Liona for a moment, both of us having to recover our breath, and gave a purposeful look to Hayley, silently questioning her views on our kiss. She smiled broadly, and subtly signaled with one furtive gesture, for us to continue.

“She’s okay,” I said, and Liona grinned.

“Wonderful,” she said, and started kissing me again.

This time, her hands slipped down my back to fix over my behind, and I took this as tacit consent for me to do likewise with her shapely rear. But Liona pulled our bodies together, and I knew she could feel my hardness press against her.

“Is that for me, or your wife?” she asked.

“You,” I said.

“Mmm… it feels nice.”

I chuckled. “I thought you’d seen it all before.”

“Oh, I have. But never like this. And I never felt it against me…”

I don’t know how long we were there on the dance floor, dancing slow and kissing long, but it seemed like we were there a while. Hayley had ample time to contemplate how she felt about this, and whether she would want it to go to another stage.

Maybe we even frightened off the other dancing couples, or maybe it was just getting late, but when we finally split apart, the party seemed empty of almost all people.

I looked around as the music came to an end, the DJ already starting to pack up. The suite looked a little like a battlefield after the armies had gone home. Hayley was gone, but I could see she was chatting with two of the few remaining partygoers over by the door—no doubt as they were getting ready to leave as well.

“David, you’re still here!” The voice behind me was instantly recognizable, of course.

“Hey, how’s it going?” I turned to see a smiling Aaron Simpson swoop in to grab my hand and shake it as though he were trying to pull it off my body.

He said, “I’m sorry, I’ve spent all night with the money-men—I didn’t get to any of the people I really wanted to hang out with.”

“Don’t worry—it’s been great,” I insisted.

“Liona’s better company than me, anyway,” he grinned, stepping behind Liona to pull her in for a friendly hug.

“Come on, let’s go out onto the balcony, get some air,” Aaron led the way through the empty suite to a large balcony that offered a superb view over Hyde Park and London by night, and comfortable-looking white couches on which to appreciate it.

“You in LA?” Aaron said, as he slumped down on one couch, leaving me to sit fairly close to Liona in the other.

“Yeah,” I said. I wasn’t sure I wanted to narrow it down to Redondo Beach, so I kept things vague. “Been there for about a year now.”

“You living at Liona’s?”

Liona colored. “No,” we said at the same time, then laughed.

“So what do you do in LA?” he went on. He pulled something out from a pocket, a little bag with tightly rolled cigarettes. Something squirmed inside me as I watched him withdraw one, along with a lighter. “You in the business?”

“No,” I said, assuming he was referring to the movie business. “I’m… I’m a lawyer. Corporate law. Really, pretty dull stuff.”

“Oh, I don’t know. Somebody’s got to do it, right?” he grinned. “Tell you the truth, it’s kind of nice to hang out with someone who’s not in the business—no offense, Liona, sweetie.”

“None taken,” Liona said.

Hayley emerged out on the balcony, and moved to the chair by Aaron’s side just as he lit up his spliff. The sweet smell of marijuana smoke filled the balcony air. After a puff for himself, he offered to Hayley. I waited for her to turn it down, only to be shocked when she took it without hesitation. She didn’t look at me as she took a long toke as naturally as though she’d been doing it all her life. When she passed it back to Aaron, I caught her furtive glance at me out of the corner of her eye.

Aaron offered it to me, and I politely declined, joking, “I’m trying to cut down.”

Sure, I’m the sheltered nerdy lawyer. I just didn’t really want to be softening my inhibitions on a night where my wife was being highly suggestive about me getting involved with another woman. I felt like I needed a sharp mind to ensure nothing happened that would go beyond what Hayley really wanted.

Liona also declined, and it felt to me that she did so for similar reasons. But she said, “I’m gonna have to go file some paperwork tonight, so this little deal of mine doesn’t evaporate.”

Hayley explained to Aaron, “She’s going to represent Oliver Harwood.” And she took another long drag on Aaron’s joint. It was a little startling. As far as I was aware, Hayley hadn’t even touched a cigarette before, and here she was handling pot like it was no big deal. It was as unsettling as it was hot. She was her own person now. Her own person in the movie industry. Things would change.

“Ollie?” Aaron said. “That’s great! I’ll tell you, he is going to go far.”

“Uh-huh,” Liona grinned proudly.

“You can put him down for a bigger part in the next Prisoner’s Wife, too,” he said, and I could see that Liona was thrilled to hear it.

“You know, he reminds me of this guy I worked with in the nineties….”

We just chatted and chilled for ages, and for the most part that meant listening to Aaron’s personal almanac of anecdotes drawn from a long career in one of the strangest industries going. It seemed perfectly ordinary and yet at the same time the most bizarre experience ever, because no matter how down-to-earth he seemed, it was one of the most famous men in the world sitting right there among us.

Eventually, though, he had to go sort a few things with the people who’d helped put on the party.

“He’s so great,” Liona said, once the man had left us.

“Isn’t he?” Hayley smiled, but now looked at me, appearing grateful.

“You’re so lucky.”

Hayley reached over to grab my hand, to give it a squeeze. She said, “I’m lucky to have a husband like this.”

“I’ll second that,” Liona said, holding up her half-filled Champagne glass as though toasting me, before taking a sip.

“You going to stay with him tonight?” I asked my wife. The answer was probably obvious, but my question was more designed to prompt Hayley to tell me what she was thinking about the rest of the night.

“I think he’ll be expecting it,” Hayley nodded, taking another sip from her own Champagne glass. “Since we’re kind of a couple now.”

A slight tremor ran through my body. They were a couple now. It seemed so wrong, but so hot.

“And you’re okay with it, right?” Liona asked me.

“Of course. I’d just… you know… like to see you whenever you can get away from him,” I told Hayley.

She smiled. “So how about you two? You enjoyed your dancing?”

Liona and I looked at each other, and even in the low light of the balcony, I saw her blush faintly. I suppose it had to be a little strange to be talking about what she’d just been doing with a guy with the guy’s wife.

“I would have thought the more pertinent question was whether you enjoyed our dancing,” I asked Hayley.

“I enjoyed it very much,” she said. “A lot more than I’d probably ever have thought I would.”

“You felt jealous?” Liona asked her.

She shrugged. “A little. And a little… scared, I guess. I mean, I know you’re not going to steal my husband, but there was still a kind of… I don’t know… unnerving sense that I was giving up control. Like when you step out of a plane to do a sky dive.”

“But you enjoyed it?” I prompted her.

Hayley gave an impish grin. “It was so hot. I mean, it felt like…I love you so much, and here I’m giving you the most wonderful sexual toy to play with. No offense, Li.”

“I don’t mind being a sexual toy,” Liona laughed. “Not for someone like David.”

“And you so deserve it, sweetie,” Hayley said, taking my hand. “And I loved seeing how much she obviously wanted you—and it was my gift to give.”

I smiled. “So now you know a little more how I feel about you and Aaron, huh? Or you and any guy, probably.”

Hayley was positively beaming. She said, “And it felt so… naughty… like we’re breaking all the rules… like sex felt when we were teenagers…”

“You going to tell me about that some day?” I asked her, laughing. “About all the sex you had as a teenager?”

Hayley flashed her eyes. “Never mind that. I need more of you two.”

“More?”

Liona and I looked at each other again, and I saw her blush deepen.

“You want to, don’t you?”

Liona surprised me a touch by leaning into me, saying to Hayley, “Of course.” Then she was kissing me again, just a few feet away from my wife this time, her hand curling around my neck, her knees moving up onto the edge of the couch as she sucked on my lips.
