Throughout the war there would be a total of nine Alamo Scout classes, although the war would end before the last class graduated. Since the training regimen for all eight changed little, the narration that follows will not be an attempt to tell the story of each class. Instead, it will largely follow the program as a whole, intermingled with personal experiences of individual Scouts, regardless of their class.
