About the Author

S
ondra Barrett earned her degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois Medical School and completed postdoctoral training in immunology/hematology at the University of California Medical School, where she remained on the faculty for more than a decade. She developed both basic cancer research and supportive care programs while working with children with life-threatening illnesses, and began studying expressive arts, energy practices, and shamanism.

Sondra’s photomicrographs have won awards from both Nikon and Olympus and have appeared in
Scientific American
magazine, Lawrence Hall of Science, Napa Valley Museum, and numerous other venues and international publications. Her thousands of presentations using this art form are touchstones for learning about health, science, sacred symbology, wine, and the senses. Her workshops and lectures have received acclaim internationally.

Sondra lives in Northern California. Her first book,
