Sanibel Seduction - Vampire Werewolf Menage (Fanged Romance Series Book Four) (25 page)

He stared down at her, dishing out that hard look he gave rookies. “You still love me. No one else can have what we do. Together. You know the money I’m making now,” he said, while pushing that talented right hand through his dark hair. “And my agent has a new endorsement that’ll shadow anything the team’s paying me. It would be easy for you to stay with me.”

“As your mistress?” She laughed without mirth.

He leaned down, whispering against her throat, “I’d make it so easy, Azure.”

She still had managed to wear heels tonight, so she reared back and kicked him in his bad knee -
so much for never being
violent.
“Fuck you, Will Adrian. I don’t need a man to take care of me.” She shouldered by him when he bent down to grab his leg, but she still couldn’t get by. “But I am with a decent human being. A real man. Nothing like you, you fucking animal.”

His eyebrows slammed hard over his eyes while he rubbed his knee. “I seriously doubt that. What makes you think someone else can
really
give you what I can?”

“Conceited asshole, get out of my way.”

“Not until we come to an agreement.”

Her eyes rounded. “Move unless you want me to explain to Elise how you propositioned me to stay on as your mistress.”

“She’d never believe you.”

“Women aren’t as gullible as men think they are,” she said with an exaggerated eye roll. “At least, she’ll question her relationship with you. Then she’ll finally understand that she obviously can’t handle your voracious, sexual appetite.” Her lip curled when his eyes gave him away. Azure could take anything he dished out in the bedroom with his commanding, jock-sized body. Stuffy Elise didn’t stand a chance. She’d turn and run when he pulled out the kink if she hadn’t already. “That’s it,” she laughed. “Why you want to keep me around. To further your career, you’re stuck with a prude. One who won’t put out the way you need her to. A political match, how funny is that? You deserve it. Talk about your rock and a hard place. You’ve built an impregnable wall all around yourself. How do you sleep at night when you can’t piss off your lover without risking a career you’ve spent your lifetime building?"

Only then did he sound nervous. “Azure, you’re really not going to say anything to her, are you?”

“Not if you let me by.” Gage and Sayer would start looking for her in another five minutes; she was sure of it. They’d been acting downright possessive since she came to their bed.

“Just listen for another minute, honey.” He clutched her arms. “There’s something of yours that I still have, and you’ll want it back.”

“Whatever it is, keep it.” She poked his chest. “We said our goodbyes months ago, stop embarrassing yourself.”

A fist slammed against the bathroom door, startling them apart. “Great,” Will whispered, pushing both hands through his hair. “Just hold on to my back when the strobes go off, you’re not used to the lights. I don’t want you wiping out.”

“Just toss your jacket over my head then.” Her brow went up indignantly. “If I’m going to do a perp walk, I might as well look the part.” She splayed both hands on her hips, patting her foot in a furious beat. “I have nothing to be ashamed of. You, on the other hand, do!” Azure gripped the handle and opened the door to see a solitary man fixing his tie, not a camera in sight.

“Sorry,” he murmured, “the other restrooms are closed off.”

A sense of Déjà vu
hit her. “Do I know you?” He looked over her head, taking in Will. They were roughly the same height, same build. A static power emanated from this man, though. Something she felt, a sense of foreboding, and she didn’t want to be around him.

“We may have passed by one another on the dance floor.” He held out a hand. “I’m Tare, by the way. I’m a friend of Gage’s.”

“Oh, well,” she started, but didn’t know how to finish. He’d caught her in a compromising position and knew Gage. Great. So the only thing she knew to do was to act as though nothing was wrong. “You should stop by our table and say hello before you head out for the night.”

“Actually, I’ll be leaving after I propose something to Mr. Adrian.” He brought his hand out to shake Will’s. “A deal I think you’ll be interested in.”

“My agent handles all of my proposals for me,” Will said distractedly.

“It won’t take long, but it’ll be worth your time.”

“Fine,” he sounded irritated now, turning to Azure he then added, “I will be speaking with you
soon
.”

She bit back her response, smiling instead. “Nice to meet you, Tare. Goodbye, Will.”

“Please, tell Gage Tare said hello and that he’ll be hearing from me as well.”

“Of course.” She rushed toward the pavilion and made a left. Gage and Sayer were coming straight for her with matching frowns and determined steps. Gage inhaled sharply, taking her in from head to toe.

Sayer cupped her elbow, fixed his stare on her mouth, and asked, “Who were you with?”

“With? I spoke to a couple of people.” She shrugged. Even though she didn’t instigate it or want it, she was feeling a little dirty for Will’s hands being on her. “Got held up, sorry.” Azure couldn’t help taking a glance over her shoulder.

“What are you looking at?”

Making sure Will didn’t follow her, but she wouldn’t say that. It was too soon in their relationship to discuss how Will dumped her, embarrassing, to say the least. “Um, I spoke with an acquaintance of yours. His name is Tare.” She stared up and froze at the sudden alarm in his cerulean eyes. Glowing. They were glowing. Cold fingers walked down her spine. “W-what’s wrong?”

“Tell me everything he said.”

“Said to tell you hello and you would hear from him soon. I don’t know what it is, but I got this strange vibe from him. Wasn’t a good one.”

“Good.” Sayer kissed her temple, uncaring if anyone noticed. “Your instincts are right on. Stay far from him. Far.”

“Speaking of far.” Gage pocked his phone after sending out a blindingly fast text. Azure couldn’t keep up with fingers that moved so quickly. “We’re leaving. Now.”

Chapter Seventeen
G
age leaned against the doorway separating the shower from Azure’s vanity area. He still couldn’t believe he was in this place. Finally, a home. One he shared with his mates. Somewhere other females had never been, specifically reserved for her. The one. “Would you like to enjoy the rooftop gardens, later? Maybe take a” – he glanced at his watch – “midnight swim. Sayer said you enjoyed it this afternoon.” By the moon's pull, he knew what time it was, but he had to keep up human pretenses for a while longer.

She was seated, scrubbing off the make-up he didn’t think she needed. “Yes,” she said on a deep inhale. “I can smell the Night Blooming Jasmine from here.”

He hadn’t cared for any of the scents. He simply needed to absorb the moon in his werewolf form, and the dense vegetation he’d ordered cultivated that, especially when he couldn’t get to Sanibel’s wetlands. But he knew a female would enjoy exotic aromatics. He’d spared no expense bringing in intoxicating fragrances and beautiful foliage for his mate - all for Azure.

“All I can smell is you,” Sayer said, stepping out of a deep walk-in closet he’d taken over, totally naked and comfortable with his nudity and with his new family. “And it’s drugging.” He glanced at his reflection, critically eyeing his layered, dark mane. He’d smoothed it back for the benefit, like satiny onyx. Azure smiled up at him as he reached over her shoulder and grabbed a soft brush. After running it through his hair so close to the same color as Azure’s, he started brushing hers in long strokes, holding the base with one hand so her head wouldn’t snap back on a tangle. “You are my addiction, Azure Blue.”

“I don’t want to be anyone’s addiction,” she whispered, closing her eyes while relaxing with his grooming skills.

Gage unfastened his watch and removed his pleated tux shirt the human way. “We could skip the addiction part, then, and work our way up to, say, wife…someday.”

Sayer kept brushing, long even strokes, running his hand over her natural silk. But she had dropped her cloth, frozen on his reflection, with mascara streaking down one cheekbone. Gage eased next to her, wet the cloth again, and buffed the black smears away. “So beautiful,” he crooned low. “What man wouldn’t want you by his side for an eternity?”

She didn’t answer, and even without immortal ears, he could’ve heard her rough swallow. He was pushing it, pushing too hard and too fast. She still didn’t know him, didn’t understand that they belonged to each other. And it hadn’t taken him that long to realize he would have chosen her of his own accord, if that were possible. Yeah, he backed that thought up; he realized that it would have been possible because he would have been greedy for her in that way. Mating pull or not, he was tumbling hard for Azure, falling right in love’s ravine. And selfishly, if she hadn’t truly been his, he would have made a deal with the dark side and asked Dru or Kash to change her to Undead. Take her beating heart and stop it, just so she could live with him forever.

And how sick was that?

What was worse?

The Beast was enraged.

“Maybe the man you were with tonight in the bathroom?” Gage heard the roughness in his voice, his ire singed with lust….possessiveness. How dare someone touch what was his. Sayer was just as angry, but his militant upbringing taught him to hold back even when his body boiled to its very bones. Like right now.

That jolted her. Golden eyes snapped to his, glaring. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“Will Adrian needs to stay away from what’s ours.” Gage wound her incredible hair around his hand. Even while angry, he marveled at the copper streaks indicating her Scottish descent. He pulled her closer, his canines filling his closed mouth…dripping. She gasped, flushed with embarrassment before widening her eyes while staring at his. And he knew why. The Beast was edging to the surface, intent on staking the ultimate claim, even though the full moon was four days away.

“I won’t let him have you back, Azure Blue. Never.” Sayer tugged her head back and kissed her, his primal need to take her and soothe her by his hand. Gage nipped next to their flushed mouths, their entwining tongues, licking the curve of her jaw as Sayer continued to kiss her deeply. The joint urge they shared to prove that no one else should matter to her intensified with every heated second.

Gage’s claws protracted as he buried his face in her neck. He released her hair and Sayer cupped her face for another delirious kiss after she begged him not to stop. Gage carefully ran his nature-given weapons down her back, shearing her dress as if he’d skimmed them through a stream of water. Chocolate silk ribbons floated onto the floor, twirling like his Beast’s power swelling inside his chest, aching to break free.

Sayer had worked his way down to a breast, flattening his palm on her back between her shoulder blades while working his thick fingers into her greedy sheath. Gage lifted one leg, placing it on the vanity to open her wide while he took in the stunning sight in the mirror.

Mine
, his beast snarled.

Yes,
he agreed. And he’d taken Azure quite a bit over the past couple of days, but his werewolf wanted complete dominion, wanted to have its freedom with its mate without any physical limitations. It had already hunted her, marked her as its territory, but it wanted to fuck her on the ground while pinning her in the Beast’s way. The only way to soothe its possessive nature, a way it used to convince its mate she could take no other male. It was a deep-rooted drive, born of primal intensity Gage couldn’t control. And if they made it to the full moon without it roaring and smashing the building until it shattered, he’d be one surprised male.

Azure sat in her damp thong, and coffee-colored thigh-highs edged in lace. With trembling hands, he pulled off each shoe, ones she shouldn’t have worn with her injured leg, and kissed her high insteps with pure reverence. Every part of her was so delicious to him, beautiful.

There was one way he could give the Beast dominion without releasing him. One way he knew of. And if the books Azure read were any indication of her willingness, he had hopes for the best.

“Sayer and I would like you to stand up, please,” Gage instructed her calmly, trying to push his canines down so he could open his mouth normally.

She left her chair, dizzy from Sayer’s kisses, and nearly stumbled. Sayer caught her around the waist, dipping his tongue in her navel before righting her. “So lovely, Azure Blue.”

In only her thigh-high stockings, she stood. Beautiful nipples, heavy breasts, tight little rib cage, and a sweet, plump roll below her waist that he wanted to sink his teeth in. True female hips flared out. The fleshy orbs gifted from her werewolf ancestry. And what a gift they were. When his werewolf wanted out to play, he could grip their sides with his be-clawed hands and pound her until tomorrow, watching as she shook for him over and over again.

His cock was so hard; it would shatter if anyone so much as breathed next to it. As if reading his mind, or more than likely, the tension in Gage’s body, Sayer lifted her in his arms, nearly crushing her against his chest. His love for her was so evident that Gage didn’t know how she mistook it for anything less.

“We started a surprise for you, in the Sun room. This morning.” Sayer kissed her again, couldn’t stem his excitement. “So it’s not nearly finished. But maybe we can work with what we have, uh, out.”

They trailed through the bathroom, curved to the left and plowed through a single-hung French door they were soon changing to solid wood for added privacy. When she caught sight of the long panes of glass replacing the garden windows, luring in more of the night, her head fell back on Sayer’s shoulder as she gasped in awe. “I swear I can see all the way to the keys from here.”

Gage rubbed his chin thoughtfully, thinking he hadn’t had a boat in at least seventy-five years so maybe he should buy one. If for the sole purpose of seeing her bounce in a bikini on deck, he would drop a bundle on it. And now he was impossibly harder. “Sayer, do you want to continue the tour.” He slid his zipper down since his claws had finally listened, and watched his pants hit the floor. Sayer wasn't too keen on restraining Azure, but right now, he needed to take over so Gage could calm down. And after going back through all of those books she was reading, he was certain he could re-create at least one of her fantasies tonight. “It’s up to you.”
