Richard: Blood Brotherhood – Erotic Paranormal Dark Fantasy Romance (14 page)

“When do you think to go after him?” He had no idea and said as much to Ward. “I think you should wait, for a bit anyway. Give them time to be caught off guard. Make them lazy in their thinking that you shan’t return.”

“But I shall return and they will know my wrath.” Ward told him that they’d be nothing but dust under his feet when he was finished. “Yes, dust. I shall enjoy that. Much more than I thought possible.”

He felt his body begin to relax. He was suddenly very tired and wanted to be at his best when it was time to see to Rembrandt. Master knew that he’d have to get used to his newfound strength. To learn to fly again, to use his tail. It had been a very long time since he’d been able to do much more than to run away and hide. He would hide no more. Master was going to be a force that would take over this world, and everyone would know when he was about.

“Do you suppose that I can become human again?” Ward asked him what he meant. “You know, become my other self? I think it would be easier to come and go when I find myself a home suitable for a king. Master of all that he sees.”

“You will need a crown too. It is a shame that you destroyed the one that Dolin had made so long ago. It would have looked very good sitting upon your head. You will need a throne as well, somewhere to sit so that you can look down upon your subjects.” He was liking this plan more and more. “Yes, you will be a master in not just name but in reality soon. And I shall be there for you, telling you what to do.”

Master was just drifting off to sleep when he realized what Ward had said to him. No one was going to tell him what to do. When he was finished with this thing with Rembrandt, Ward and Dolin were going to have to leave him alone. And if Mary even tried to talk to him, he was going to take care of her as well. He had not one clue as to how he was going to do that, but soon. He’d have to cut them out of his life soon.

Master was going to need no one when Rembrandt was gone. He was going to rule and there would be no stopping him from doing so.
