Remy's Wolf (Wolves of Mt. Alexis, 1) (8 page)

Hank dug his fingertips in deeply at
Remy’s hips, holding on for dear life as Remy went wild over his
wolf. He leaned down to capture Hank’s lips, enjoying the shoe
being on the other foot and him being more dominant in their
coupling, although he was still in a submissive position, impaled
by his lover.

Remy pressed his tongue deep into
Hank’s mouth, savoring the man’s flavor as he bounced up and down
in his lap, the sweet friction of their fucking nearly making
Remy’s eyes roll back in his head. Hank’s cock spread him wide,
stretching his asshole as Hank filled him completely.

I want you … to remember
… this … when you’re … down in the … valley,” Hank spit out between
deep breaths. “You’re mine. On top … on bottom … it doesn’t matter.
This ass … is mine.”

The possessive tone, coupled with the
deep penetration and the caressing lull of the hot water pushed
Remy over the edge. He came, his cock spurting thick bands of cum
into the water as he continued to ride Hank’s body. Hank followed
him shortly after, shooting thick jets of cum deep within Remy’s
ass.

Remy stopped moving once he’d milked
Hank’s cock and rested his forehead on Hank’s. “This is all insane,
you know that?”

What’s
insane?”

The lure I feel toward
you. The necessity I feel to touch and taste you, even though I
barely know you. The trust I feel even though I shouldn’t,” Remy
said before lifting his head to capture Hank’s stare. “And I don’t
even know where to begin about the whole you being a werewolf
thing. I feel like I’m living inside one big, freaky dream and
can’t wake up.”

Hank stared at him for a
moment, his expression unreadable. “Do you
want
to wake up?”

Remy was thoughtful a
moment. “No. I don’t think I do. But you’ve got to let me ease into
this. I won’t live here, but in my own home. And I need to get to
know you better before you start throwing words like
forever
around.”

Hank stared at Remy, silent. Finally
he nodded his head. “It goes against everything in my nature, and I
don’t like it, but I’m willing to try to give you what you need. As
long as you give me your time.”

Remy smiled, glad to have won the
battle. It was good to know his wolf was malleable to a point, too.
If he had been possessive and reluctant to budge, there was no
chance they could find a future together. It still might not work,
but Hank’s willingness to try was a promising sign. “Now can I go
home?”

Hank nodded before pressing a stirring
kiss to Remy’s lips. “I’ll get Paul to drive us there
now.”

Chapter Seven

Hank sat in the backseat with his
mate, his palm resting on the man’s knee. He wasn’t pleased the
human wanted to go home so readily, but after his discussion with
Paul, he knew he had to bend to get what he wanted. But if he bent
too much, he could easily break. After waiting for his mate for
such a long time, letting go of his chance at happiness was
shattering him. Remy didn’t understand the werewolf way, nor did he
know how huge of an event it was for an alpha to release his
beta.

Paul understood. Hank kept seeing his
brother’s worried stare in the rear view mirror, as if Paul thought
Hank would rebel all at once and go wild. The thought had crossed
Hank’s mind once or twice, the need to pull his mate close and
never let go screaming in his veins. For now, he would content
himself at sitting beside the male and hope he could walk
away.

As Paul turned onto Remy’s street,
Hank saw a ton of police cruisers ahead. Blue and red lights spun,
and crime scene tape was stretched across a lawn.

What the hell is th—”
Remy’s words drifted off as his eyes grew larger. “The police are
in my house. They’ve tied me to Aaron’s death.”

You’ve done nothing
wrong, Remy. There’s no reason for you not to go talk to them,”
Hank said. “I’m the one at fault.”

And what am I supposed to
say, Hank? Oh, it wasn’t me, it was the gigantic werewolf who came
and busted in. That’s my one-way ticket into a padded cell. Or I’ll
get charged with the murder. Either way, it isn’t
pretty.”

Running isn’t going to
help. We need to fight this head on,” Paul said from the front
seat. “You’ll need to face them eventually.”

Remy looked like he could barely
breathe. The scent of panic filled the car.

I can’t. Not yet. I need
time to figure out what I’m going to say to them.” Remy turned his
stare to Hank, hoping the wolf would agree.

After a long moment of eyeing one
another, Hank finally spoke. “Paul, get us out of here,” Hank
growled out, pressing Remy’s head down in his lap.

Paul immediately pulled into one of
the other houses’ driveways before casually pulling back out and
turning around. Hank did everything in his power not to turn around
and look out the window and stared straight ahead. He kept seeing
Paul look back, though.

Are we being followed?”
Hank asked.

I don’t think so,” Paul
answered.

Drive around a little,
just in case. Then take us back to the mountain,” Hank spit out
before he looked down at his mate. “It’s the safest place for you
right now.”

Remy nodded, his eyes still
wide.

Hank shook his head. “I got you into
this mess. I’m sorry.”

You saved my life,” Remy
said as he looked up at Hank. “I suppose I can’t ask for much more.
Take me home.”

You want us to turn
around?” Hank asked with a frown.

No, your home. It sounds
like the decision was just made for me,” Remy said with a
sigh.

Hank felt elated and disappointed all
at the same time. He didn’t have to let go of his mate, yet Remy
was only coming back with him because he had nowhere else to go,
not because he’d made a conscious choice to be with
Hank.

Ty saw the hulking form up ahead as a
sweet scent permeated the air around him. He’d been tracking
whatever it was in the dark, his gaze easily able to capture the
motion through the darkened forest. He could smell human, but there
was something else about the scent. His body shivered as a breeze
carried the sweet smell to him full force, and he stifled a howl.
He couldn’t let whoever it was know he was close by.

The human had no business being on
their property, especially so close to the den’s cabins.
Trespassers were not taken lightly on Mt. Alexis and were usually
purposefully scared shitless when they were caught. Ty wasn’t
thinking about scaring this human, though. All he thought think
about was mounting and claiming.

Two mates in as many days? After a
hundred years of waiting, they’d come across these two rather
quickly.

Ty stalked a little closer to the
human and saw the figure move up to one of Hank’s windows and rise
to peek inside. He couldn’t wait any longer. He pounced on the
human, knocking him to the ground. Ty put all his weight on the
man’s chest and growled menacingly down at him.

The human fought him, trying to push
him off, but Ty’s strength was too much. He snapped his jaws and
growled. The human slowed his motions and became very, very still.
Ty usually ran humans off at this point, putting the fear of God in
them. But this case was different. This was his mate.

Ty began to change back into his human
form, unable to control the shift. He held on to the threads,
trying to prevent it, but it was useless. Seconds later, he lay
nude on top of the intruder.

What … the …” the human
below him said.

Who are you?” Ty asked
gruffly, his head still spinning that he’d let the cat … er, wolf …
out of the bag. There was no getting around it. He’d just opened
the door to them all being outed.

The human reached into his jacket, but
Ty growled at him.

Whoa, buddy. I’m just
reaching in for my badge.”

His badge? Great, could
this shit get any better?
“Slowly, or I’ll
bite your hand off.”

The man slowly dug into his jacket,
coming out with a wallet. Ty tried to ignore the weight of the
man’s stare, tried even harder to ignore the human’s hard-on
growing between them. The cop flipped open the wallet to show a
shining badge and ID. It was too dark to truly read any of it or
confirm it was real, but from what Ty could see, it looked
legit.

What’re you doing on my
land?” Ty asked, trying to control his raging erection. He wanted
to rub it along the guy, marking him with his scent.

I’m tracking a suspect in
a murder investigation. I followed him and two other males here,”
the human said.

Ty felt his stomach flip-flop. He
scented the air around them, but didn’t smell any other humans. The
guy wasn’t stupid enough to come up here alone without backup, was
he? “Who else is here with you?”

The cop’s eyes grew fractionally
larger, and had Ty not had keen eyesight, he would’ve missed the
obvious tell.

I have back-up a few
meters down the lane. They’ll be here any second.”

Ty chuckled. “Liar. Nice try though.
You shouldn’t be trespassing on my land, without a warrant or an
invitation. And you made a huge mistake when you came
alone.”

The cop’s eyes grew wider again. “Oh,
it’s a mistake, hmm?”

Ty let his canines drop. “Yeah, a big
mistake.” He lowered his head to the human’s neck and bit through
his flesh. Blood filled his mouth as he sucked deep. If he took
enough blood from the man, he could incapacitate him without truly
hurting him or fighting. Ty controlled his need to roll the man
over and claim him then and there on the dirt.

When the human’s heart slowed enough,
Ty rose and lifted the man in his arms. He started walking to his
cabin, his brain drawing mental images of the cop chained to his
bed. At the thought, he realized his night was
improving.

Chapter Eight

Hank answered the door at the
insistent knocking, finding Ty standing there in a huff. He was
naked, covered in sweat, with blood around his mouth and a hard-on
the size of Texas. “Umm … Come in?”

Ty brushed past Hank and came into the
living room, taking a look around. “Where’s your mate?”

Remy stepped from the bedroom and into
the living room. “I’m here.”

Hank walked closer to Remy and eyed
his mate closely. “This is my eldest brother, Ty. He’s also pack
leader and not normally running around in the buff. Ty, this is
Remy.”

Ty nodded at Remy, ignoring Hank’s
comments. “I wish we had more time for pleasantries, but I just
caught an intruder on our land. A cop. Said he’d followed you guys
back here and that he was looking for a suspect in a murder
investigation.”

Hank felt his world pitch. Would they
have to go on the run? “What did you do to the guy?”

Ty’s face grew red. “I chained him up
over at my place.”

Was he alone?” Hank felt
an odd vibe from his brother, and he wasn’t sure why.

Yeah, he was dumb enough
to come up here alone,” Ty answered.

But someone’s going to
figure out he’s missing and soon,” Remy added. “You can’t keep him
or get mixed up in our mess.”

Ty paced the room. “We have a chance
to explain to him what happened while he’s here. Show him what we
are and tell him what happened. It could clear Remy and get the
cops off our asses.”

And expose us to the
human world,” Hank snapped as he shook his head violently. “Not a
chance, Ty.”

It’s too late. He’s
already seen me shift,” Ty said on a long sigh.

What?” Hank asked, his
brow furrowed.

Ty was quiet for a moment, continuing
to pace back and forth along the space. “You aren’t the only one
who’s found his mate, bro.”

Hank stepped closer, stopping Ty’s
frantic pacing. “Seriously?”

Yeah. I bit him to knock
him out, and he’s chained to my bed now, still sleeping it off. I
couldn’t control my shift, and he saw what I was. I had no choice
but to get him in chains. He could be the perfect ally to get your
mate cleared. I’ve just got some persuasion to do,” Ty
said.

Get to it. Go claim your
mate.” Hank smacked his brother on the back, glad for the news.
They weren’t out of the woods yet, but it was a good sign. “And
make sure he knows the ranger claimed to have killed others. If we
can find the bodies and tie them to the ranger, it could be the
key.”

Ty smiled a wolfish grin. “Give me
some time and we can hopefully get this all ironed out, one way or
another.”

Hank walked his brother out, feeling
lighter than he had when he’d returned to the cabin with Remy
earlier. As soon as he shut the door behind Ty, he turned to face
his mate. Instead of seeing relief on Remy’s face, there was doubt.
“Why the long face? I figured you’d like that news.”
