Bear

Once a week, the Sinners come together with the Cobras at their compound and have a fight night. We get one of our guys and one of theirs and bet on a winner. Hanger used to come until he saved Crazy Girl, but now he sticks close to her, thinking this would be too much after what she's been through. I missed last week’s fights because I was at the club, watching over Jacey, but I'm not missing this week’s. I walk up to Hunter, he’ll be our fighter this week.

"Brother, who you fighting tonight?"

"Dodger, I think."

"Good match up," I tell him. "Make sure you avoid that right hook."

"Yeah, thanks Bear. Are you going tonight?"

"Fuck yeah! I wouldn't miss this one, it looks like it's gonna be a good fight.” I give him a pat on the back as I walk over to the bar to get a shot.

A few hours later, we all get on our bikes and head out. When we get to the compound, we have to wait for a prospect to let us through the gate. We park our bikes and walk into the clubhouse. All my brothers and I order our choice of poison and go our separate ways. We’re not the only ones who come out to watch the fights: civilians, hang-arounds, and whores like to partake as well. The only reason civilians get to watch is because most of them are high society with high amounts of cash to throw away. They place bets, and they like to see the bloodshed, which in turn gets you more money if you play your cards right. Who’s gonna turn down fast cash, I sure in the fuck am not. I love my money and the more I can get, the happier I am. If the civilians can’t make the minimum bet, they can’t watch. We do the fights to get some aggression out, and they take place in the back of the clubhouse. There's no cage or ring, we just make a circle around the fighters. They go bare knuckle until someone either taps out or gets knocked the fuck out. I look over, see Deuce, Snake's VP, and walk over to him. “You takin' the bets tonight?"

"Bear, good to see you man! You know it. You missed last week's. It was a great fight."

"You too! Yeah, had shit to do. Heard Hacker fucked your boy up pretty good. What's the number tonight?"

"Yeah he did. Five large."

Giving a whistle I say, "Alright, five on Hunter." I pull my money out and hand it to him.

"Good luck,” he says as I'm walking away.

I find Hunter and give him some tips. "Watch his right hook, and that fucker is fast on his feet, but he's got a jaw made of glass. If you can land a solid, he'll go down. Protect your face and body, he likes to do combos."

"Thanks, Brother."

"No problem. I got a good chunk of change ridin' on you tonight."

With that I walk off and take my place in the front row of the circle. Everyone makes room to let the guys through.

Snake comes in. "Alright, boys, you know the rules. Fight goes on until someone taps or is knocked out." They both give nods.

“Fight!” Snake moves to join the crowd. Hunter and Dodger circle each other. Dodger comes in first, trying to put all his weight into a single punch. Hunter goes left, avoids the hit. Dodger throws a punch into Hunter's stomach, and he stumbles back with the force, but recovers quickly. Dodger comes in with quick jabs to the nose, making it bloody. Hunter moves to the right then he sees his opening, throwing a hard punch to Dodger’s face and connecting with his jaw, just like I told him. Dodger goes down, but he’s not out yet. Hunter jumps on him, throwing fist after fist and blood’s flying everywhere. Dodger tries to get Hunter off, but it doesn’t work. Hunter is quick with his fists, and Dodger finally quits defending himself, he’s out. Storm, the Cobras' Sergeant At Arms, comes in, calling the fight. I walk up to Deuce to get my money and when he hands it to me, I fan through it. A good thirteen g’s I made in a couple of minutes.

After the guys get cleaned up, the music starts booming throughout the clubhouse and everybody gathers inside to celebrate or sulk. Getting drink after drink, I look around the room, watching the guys from both clubs start picking their whore for the night. Others get on the pool tables for a game, betting more money. The one thing this clubhouse has that we don't is a stripper pole. One of their girls jumps on the little make shift stage and starts dancing. Some of the Cobras got their Ol' Ladies here, so they’re keeping them close, dancing or just talking with others. It's a good time, but I don't wanna see any of this shit. I'm missing Jacey. I go sit at the bar, order another drink, and pull my phone out, writing her a text. I’m a little fucked up when I press send.

Bear: Got a song for you.

Jacey: What’s that?

Bear: The Fray, Over My Head.

Jacey: U trying 2 tell me something?

Bear: Just thinkin' bout u.

Deuce walks up to where I’m sitting at the bar, and takes a seat next to me. "You made a good bit of cash tonight." I look at him, not hearing what he said.

"Huh?"

"I said you made a good bit of cash tonight. What pussy has you all spaced out like that?"

"You watch what you say. She's not like the whores 'round here."

"So it is a chick?" He chuckles. "Only a man in love would look and act like that."

"Act like what?"

"Defendin' her, keepin’ you in your phone. You got a faraway look to ya."

"It's not love, we're just fuckin'. Besides, I've only known her for a week."

"Yeah, you keep tellin' yourself that, doesn't matter how long you've known her. So who is she?"

"Hanger's Ol' Lady’s best friend. Her name's Jacey."

He gets a strange look on his face. "Jacey, huh? Been a long time since I heard that name."

"What's that fuckin' mean?"

"Shit, nothin' man. Have a good night. My son Crawler's over there, gotta go." He gets up and walks away, and I leave not too long after that. When I get back to the clubhouse, I can't quit thinking about what Deuce said, so I pull my phone out and text her again.

Bear: Hey u know anybody from the Cobras?

Jacey: It’s the middle of the night.

Bear: Answer.

Jacey: Idk don't think so.

Bear: K nite.

Jacey: Nite.

Over the next couple of weeks, I haven't seen Jacey. I’ve been working on my truck a lot and dealing with club shit. We text a lot and when I sent her that song, I guess it started something. Now about every night we send a different one to each other, and she sends me her’s first tonight.

Jacey: Saving Abel's Sex Is Good.

Bear: U trying to tell me something now?

Jacey: Can't sleep.

Bear: Is that an invite?

Jacey: Kinda, miss u.

Bear: I know I'll be over in a lil.

Jacey: I'll leave the door unlocked.

An hour later, I park my bike next to her car and walk up to her door. Turning the knob, I find it unlocked just like she said. Shutting and locking it behind me, I walk to her bedroom. She must have fallen asleep waiting for me. I see her breathing is even and shallow, so I take everything off except my boxer briefs and climb in beside her. I've never slept in a bed with a woman, it's always been just us fucking and then she or I left. Tonight I'll give her one of my firsts that's still intact. I pull her to me, place her head on my chest and get her arm around me. I stare at the ceiling and run my hand through her long brown hair until my eyes get heavy and I fall asleep.

Since the night I stayed with her, we've been seeing more of each other. She’s wanted to keep what we’re doing a secret, and I've went along with it until now. I'm done with that shit. I want her to be mine and I want every fucking body to know it. Today is the Fourth of July BBQ that Chatty wanted to have, and Crazy Girl is helping her set up everything. She is gonna make one fine First Lady, but my eyes wander to my Lil Mama. She’s feisty and stubborn as hell. She has me all twisted up and I don't think I can get her out of my system even if I wanted to. We text constantly and I see her when time allows it. The pussy is unreal, I've never had anything like it. She’s just fucking perfect, and I want her to be mine, but I don't know how she is gonna take that. The fireworks are about to start when she walks up to me. "Hey, Bear."

"Lil Mama."

"You want me to watch the fireworks with you?" she asks, with that beautiful smile.

"Yeah, Lil Mama. I gotta ask you somethin’.” She gets this nervous look on her face, the smile fading, as she gives me a tight nod. "We’ve been doin’ this back and forth shit for a while. We kept quiet but I don't want to anymore. Will you be mine? Let me call you mine and let everybody know?"

She starts frantically shaking her head no. "I can't do that Bear. I already told you, I like what we’re doing. Don't try to change it on me now. Why can't you just fucking let it be?"

"Goddamn it, Jacey, because I’ve got real feelings for you! I don't want it to stay that way because you aren’t just a fuck to me anymore!”

"Jesus, Bear. I can't! I thought you understood that."

"So what is this, just a good fuck until some fancy ass prick comes along that you think is better for your princess ass?" I'm getting pissed. What the fuck is her deal?

"Bear, I’ve told you! Don’t call me a fucking princess! Goddamn you!"

"No, you know what Jacey? Fuck it! I'm done!” I can't. I can't do this with her anymore.

"Bear!”

"No, Jacey, take your fuckin' princess ass somewhere else! I said I was done."

"You want it to be like that, then fine! Fuck it." With that, she walks away and I go into the clubhouse, to my room. Fuck, she pisses me off. She gets to me like nobody ever has, and I know she feels the same way I do. When we’re outside of the clubhouse she shows it, but once we are here, her guard goes up. She builds walls that I can't fucking break down. I can't do this shit with her anymore. I’venever been like this with a woman, and this is why I never wanted love or relationship bullshit.

Chatty had Hanger call in a couple of our other chapters for the BBQ. It was a good thing too because now that we’re all together we can discuss this Grimaldi shit. After church this morning, we went to the Cobras' compound to let them know the plan so far for the Italians. When we got back to the clubhouse, I went straight to my room, slamming the door shut. I'm still fucking pissed at Jacey, and everybody knows to leave me the fuck alone, they just don't know why. I pull out my phone and see my light flashing, letting me know I have a new text. It’s from Jacey, saying she’s sorry so I text back.

Bear: Yeah 4 what?
