Nefarious MC #1 - Nobody's Ol Lady (25 page)

“I’m not sure, I don’t run into her. I never liked that bitch and I don’t hang out with all the clubs around here, Willie. Just Nefarious and Bound for Hell but we’ll find her, I promise you. I’ll be right by your side too, little sister.” She gathered Willie up in her arms as she gave Black Dog a pleading look.

“Teddy, word of advice, lose Sonny. You aren’t gonna impress Hammer by trying to make him jealous. I’ve got Willie; you get that motherfucker outta this house. I’m doing you solid here, Sonny is bad news, and you don’t want to be seen with him. Whoever you were seeing over in Ocean Cove chapter of Bound for Hell would be better if you’re looking to be an ol lady. Ain’t gonna happen if you’re trying for Hammer.” Black Dog gave Teddy the hard cold facts and wasn’t trying to be mean about it either.

“I do like Hammer but I think you’re right, he just uses me when he is around. I’ve been seeing Bullet when he comes around to Ocean Cove. He is a nice guy but he is from Northern New Jersey. I don’t like it up there. Sonny asked to come over here, I didn’t plan on bringing him either. I thought he needed to talk to you. He really creeps me out and I don’t want to bring him back to Dirty Deeds. I want to go over to my parent’s house and see what I can find out. This is just too much of a mess and Willie shouldn’t be treated like this, she doesn’t deserve it. My dad never tosses bills out and I want to find the bills on Willie’s supposed pregnancy. If I can get into the study, I might be able to find them. I can’t bring Sonny there.” Teddy was chewing the inside of her cheek as she spoke.

Black Dog stood there thinking and peeked out into the living room. Sonny had his hair cut in jail and he wasn’t all tatted up. In fact he looked pretty normal and his clothes were clean. A thought popped into Black Dog’s head.

“Teddy, you’re bringing Sonny to your parent’s house. The dude is a thief—he can open safes. All you have to do is get your parents outside and let him in. You tell him what to look for and I bet he will find it. Of course he might lift some money or jewelry while he is there.” Black Dog started to rethink his plan.

“No, that stuff is in the bank vault and there’s nothing but paperwork in the file cabinet. He’d need to get the file marked Willie. My dad has files on how much we all cost him. He has them labeled with our names in fact—it would be easy. Sonny should grab all three files. That will confuse my dad if he looks and sees one file is missing. Seeing all of our files missing, he can’t blame one of us. I like the idea but can you come with us? I really don’t want to be alone in the car with Sonny. He should get the files and get right out. I’ll keep my parents outside by the pool,” Teddy stated.

“I can’t leave Willie, but I’ll get JJ over to drive with Sonny. He can bring the files back here. How sure are you about these files? I can’t believe anyone keeps files on what they spent on their kids.” Black Dog was thinking Willie and Teddy had one messed up family.

“Because he always brings them out when he is mad at us, to show us all he has done for us. Willie, tell Black Dog about the files!” Teddy tossed up her hands, in frustration.

Willie sounded extremely tired as she explained, “Teddy is telling the truth. I’ve seen the files too many times. Just not the bills about me being pregnant, that she is talking about. But that is where they would be I suppose. The study has sliding glass doors on the side of the house that faces the woods, the lock is broken, so they keep a piece of a broom stick in the track.

“I don’t think it would be hard to lift that whole damn filing cabinet out of the house. It might be faster if he did that. It is the filing cabinet that is set away from the others if I remember correctly. I haven’t been over there in awhile. Teddy could go in and put something on it so he’d know which one it is.

“She has to go inside the study to get the broom out of the door track anyway. We can store the file cabinet downstairs by the washer and dryer. I’d love to see what has been spent on Roberta. It sounds like a decent plan Black Dog. I’m fine so you can go with her. Mad Jack and Dee are here. I’d rather you did if this Sonny isn’t trust worthy.”

Black Dog thought it over.”I’m going to get JJ anyway and I need to ask Sonny to do it. Why don’t you both wait in here and I’ll be back in a few minutes. Willie, you need to drink some orange juice, no more tripping for you. I’ll ask Deidra to bring drinks for you both.” Black Dog left them sitting on the bed as he sought out Sonny and Deidra.

eddy looked at Willie and grinned. “How the hell did my baby sister manage to snag one of the most coveted hottest bikers in Nefarious?” She sounded a bit in awe.

“I didn’t snag him, he is just Black Dog, and we decided to live together for awhile. I know all his rules and I really do like him, too much probably. He’s made it very clear to me not to expect him to stay for long, Teddy. He is really nice most of the time and he’ll break my heart when he leaves. If something happens and he moves out do you think you could get me job dancing? I have to pay off my student loan and I have my horse and the apartment. My head is starting to hurt from all of this and I never should have tripped.” Willie sounded emotionally drained.

“I don’t know why you would think it was a good idea to take acid after a fall out with Father Paul. You always rush too fast into things Willie—it is your downfall. Of course I’ll help you dance; I am going to use Elena as my agent as soon as she starts up her own agency. It is such a shame you can’t teach art anymore. Maybe you should have avoided Black Dog,” Teddy scolded her.

Willie muttered, “Blame it on Roberta! That is how I ‘snagged’ Black Dog Teddy. I asked him to take me for a ride when he came into her store and I was working.” She closed her eyes and missed the look of awe on Teddy’s face.

Teddy kicked off her flip-flops and lay down beside Willie. “I want to know more about how you snag men. Maybe you can teach me because I haven’t had any luck so far. Damn, Willie, don’t you see how Black Dog looks at you? He is in love with you.”

“I don’t think so, I’m sure there is a rule about love somewhere, if not he’ll make sure it goes on the list! I never knew a man with as many rules as Black Dog has and he isn’t fair adding more and more rules to the original list, which I agreed to.” Willie replied.

She closed her eyes and hoped Teddy would shut up. Willie fell asleep and never knew that Teddy and Black Dog left with the others to steal the file cabinet. Dee checked on her a few times but Willie was so exhausted she never woke up.

hen they got the file cabinet into the recreation room it was late. Teddy decided to crash on the couch downstairs and Sonny was thanked and sent back to Dirty Deeds with JJ. Black Dog looked at the cabinet in disgust. What was wrong with Willie’s father? He sounded like a real son of a bitching bastard. He placed a pillow under Teddy’s head and went upstairs.

Mad Jack was eating cold pizza and Dee had gone to bed. Black Dog grabbed a slice and sat down at the kitchen table.

“You grew up with the Reed sisters’ bro? I want to know anything you can remember about them.” Black Dog wanted answers and everything he could find out about their lives.

“Roberta is older than I am. Teddy, yeah I went to school with her. Willie was behind me in school. Roberta used to call her chubby but she was a cheerleader and I don’t think she was fat, they teased her saying she was all baby fat.  It is hard to believe it now with that body—no disrespect Dog.

“I didn’t like Roberta much but my family knows her family. Teddy was always cool, didn’t seem to care what her sisters did but she looked out for Willie. Now Willie, she never hung out with me, she was always into her art. She was into all kinds of stuff at school, committees, clubs and that crap. I thought she was a happy girl as long as Roberta wasn’t around.

“Once Roberta graduated Willie was more popular because Roberta wasn’t getting her friends to pick on her. The worst girl in the school was Althea—that bitch was so mean to Willie and it was strange because if you saw them together, you’d think they were related. She and Roberta were best friends. I never liked her and she thought she was all that because her mom is a doctor and her dad a lawyer.

“Althea made the mistake of going after my sister one day. Kima is younger than the Reed sisters and Althea. She was riding her horse and Althea took rocks and hit both my sister and her horse. Kima almost mowed Althea over with the horse, got down and took her riding crop to her. I had to pull her away before she got Althea in the face with that whip.

“You don’t mess with Kima, and she knew Willie so they became friends. I heard my dad say Robert Reed was an asshole and that no matter how much he tried he’d never top my dad. You have to know my dad is all about winning, Dog. He is a self made man and he knows the dirt on everyone. I know Althea was adopted, heard that at the kitchen table. My parents were saying that Dr. Rayne should have let her go to another family knowing whose father she was…” Jack stopped and looked at Black Jack.

“Motherfucker, that’s it! I bet Althea is related to the Reeds.” Jack got up and headed to the phone as Black Dog sat there thinking about it.

He was quite sure the Althea he had been screwing was the one and the same Mad Jack was talking about. She’d stolen pills from her mother who she said was a doctor. Maybe the pills had been some kind of perk back when he’d been hanging out with her. He was going to have to tell Willie it was most likely her old enemy. Damn it sure was raining buckets on Willie’s head lately. He could hear Mad Jack talking and wondered who he was on the phone with.

Mad Jack got off the phone, had the bottle of whiskey in hand and poured a shot for each of them. Black Dog really wasn’t in a drinking mood but figured what the hell as he downed the burning liquid.

“I took a chance my dad was still up. You wanted dirt? Holy shit, my dad gave me an earful. He likes Willie so I got it all. You ready for this Dog?”

“Jack, I’m tired, so just tell me.” Black Dog was worn out and had a feeling that this wasn’t going to be happy news.

“Robert Reed is a builder, like my dad but he used to be small time years back. He was having an affair with the woman who did the book keeping, answered the phone and all that shit.  Younger than his wife and she got knocked up. This would have been after Teddy was born and before Willie was even conceived. Everybody knew but his wife because she was busy being mommy to Roberta and Teddy.
