              “Ummm all I remember is a vivid green shade that’s all,” Adam replied. He’d tried to erase the image of the snake from his mind but the bright green had remained in his head. The snake guy looked at him with a look of disbelief.

              “Nope not a Puff mate they’re always neutral colors to blend in with their surroundings, light browns, dark yellows but never green never bright colors, whoever told you it was a Puff had their facts wrong. I’d guess at a Rat snake as some of them have bright vivid colors and they’re non-venomous, so you were scared as shit for no good reason sorry mate,” he finished talking and they left Adam alone with his confused thoughts.

Adam was pissed off but was due to leave soon for the airport.

               He rushed out to the reception area and found Dougie. He didn’t want to alert him to the fact that he knew about their scheme, Dougie had to be in on it too surely, so he just asked if he’d seen or heard from Elisha. He replied that he’d heard nothing this morning from her and was worried about her. Adam found it hard to share in his worry regarding her whereabouts, quite frankly right now he didn’t care about her all he cared about was his money and the fact that he’d been duped. How many others had they worked over in the same way and if he’d not met the snake guy he’d have been none the wiser either.

                Adam had money and he probably wouldn’t really miss what they’d taken, but that was the whole point they’d taken his money. Not only that, he honestly thought he was going to die, he’d no idea what a Puff Adder looked like and that’s obviously how their scheme worked. They played on the ignorance of people’s knowledge regarding snakes but surely, they must’ve guessed that one day, as he’d done they may come across someone that did know.

                He glanced at his watch and saw that the bus was due soon to take them all to the airport. Adam wasn’t going to leave it like this he needed to speak with Elisha and he needed to report what they were doing.

                Adam heard the word Elisha being whispered throughout the reception area but couldn’t grasp what was being said, “Have you heard?” one of his tourist group asked, Adam shook his head vacantly not having the faintest idea what they were talking about. “It’s Elisha she’s been rushed into hospital Adam; it seems she wasn’t as lucky as you were. She’s been bitten by a Puff Adder and has reacted badly to the bite and the word is that there’s no anti-venom left in the whole hospital.”
