Make Mine a Ranger (Special Ops: Homefront Book 4) (19 page)

“Mom,” Kayla protested, and Abby rolled
her eyes knowing the whining would continue for at least fifteen minutes.

Lacey snickered. “And so, it begins.”

As the sun touched the sparkling blue
horizon, Abby snuggled deeper onto Edith’s lap, feeling cozy with her family
surrounding her in the backyard overlooking the vast expanse of the Chesapeake
Bay.

She might not live in this house any
longer, but she’d always call this place “home.”

From the Author

Thank you for reading
Make Mine a
Ranger,
the Special Ops: Homefront series finale.

If you enjoyed this book, please help me
spread the word by reviewing it on Amazon.
Your reviews are so important to independent authors like
me, so I am deeply grateful for your support. I have also made this book
lending enabled, so please share it with your friends.

If you’d like me to let you know when my
next book is ready, please contact me at

email list. Thanks for your interest!

Completing this series has been a dream
of mine for so long, and I never would have done it if I hadn’t received so
many positive reviews and thoughtful emails from readers encouraging me along
the way.
You made my dream come true
, welcoming my characters into your
life. I hope you have enjoyed this journey with me, and will let me introduce
you to new characters in the near future.

I cannot thank my husband enough for his
help with this entire series, and for this book, especially. You are my
inspiration, my hero, and my very best friend. Nothing is ever real till I share
it with you. Thank you for tolerating a wife who is so often pounding away at
her keyboard and plopping manuscripts in front of your face to read when you
come home tired at night.

As always, my thanks to my friend Chuck
who, for four books now, has offered his input and Navy O-6 expertise only
asking for second-rate wine in payment. You are a treasure. To Becky, who was
the first person I shared the idea for the series with years ago, sitting in
the restaurant at the Naval Academy eating pizza. If you had scrunched up your
nose and shook your head at the idea, this pursuit of mine might have had a
very different ending. To my mom, thanks for reading my books even though I’m
sure you’re shutting your eyes through certain scenes. To Danielle, for your
friendship and your sharp eyes, especially when helping me pick out a man for
my cover. And to all the friends and beloved family who have offered their
enthusiasm as I brought these stories to life.

Most of all, my thanks to all who serve
our country and their families, who inspire each and every character in my
books with their strength, courage, and commitment.

To all my readers, thank you again for
supporting an independent author!
