Jordan's Misunderstanding (15 page)

Lacy stood up and said, “Mother, really, I was just getting to that.”

“Too slow my dear. I was bored. I decided that I would make the potion myself, that way if something goes wrong, it"s on me.” The woman said.

Everyone looked confused as the two women argued back and forth. Quin finally whistled loudly and then held up his hand. “Uh, we are all confused.”

“For those who don"t know my bossy mother, this is Adele. Adele, the Council. And apparently a few shifter cats.” Lacy said and everyone laughed.

Her mother glared at her. “Alpha, if I may.” She said and waited for Quin to nod. “Lacy and I were talking about Oliver"s predicament. Now as a witch, we try to make sure we have the whole story before we decide to kill someone. So we thought, why not force his memories? They have to be in there somewhere. Even if a shifter is drugged, the memories are in the background.”

Jo gasped, jumped up and looked animated for the first time. “Really? Will it work?” Adele looked shocked and said, “My dear, if this doesn"t work, I will eat my black pointed hat.”

The room buzzed with excitement and Jordan watched as they all talked around her.

Ryan and Blaze looked at the witch with interest while Ariel raised her hand, like she wanted to ask a question.

Quin whistled and said, “Sorry, Ariel, you don"t have to raise your hand.”

“Well, since we are not part of the Council, I felt like I should have permission to speak.” The woman said happily while her mate groaned and rolled his eyes. “Hush you.” She said to her mate and then turned back to the room. “While we are just visitors, can I point something out?”

Quin nodded again before she continued. “I believe that you need to have an impartial party administer the potion. I am not saying anything against all of you; I am just saying that it needs to look official and not staged. If Oliver suddenly remembers something that clears his name, there should be someone there who has nothing to gain by it.”

There was silence at the table and then Quin said, “I agree. If we want answers, we have to have someone who is not involved in the outcome. May I impose on our guests a little? Ryan and Ariel, you both have nothing to gain or to lose, would you be willing to perform this action for us?”

Ryan looked at his mated who shrugged and smiled. He then leaned over and whispered into Blaze"s ear. His Second nodded and then whispered back. Ryan finally answered. “I would gladly perform this task for you. I ask that my Second, Blaze, also be a witness.”

“Done.” Quin said and stood up. “Jo, go and talk to your father, we need his approval.

We will do it in the morning. No one discuss outside this room what we are planning.

There are things that seem to be known by the Rogue that they shouldn"t. I say we call it a night until tomorrow. We will meet in the conference room here. I will have cameras set up so we can all watch together while Ariel and Ryan talk to Oliver.” Everyone nodded and stood up. Jordan and her mates were shown to a room on the top floor. They said goodbye to their Primes and locked themselves in their room. Finally, they were alone to talk.

Chapter 18

“This has been a long ass day.” Larkin said and plopped down on the large bed that sat in the middle of the room.

“No, shit. I think my tongue is still bleeding from biting it so much.” Romy said.

Jordan laughed and looked out the large window. It faced the mountains and she was enchanted with the view. “Wow.” She said. “Can you feel the power?”

“Oh yes, baby girl. When you are all in a room together, it flows around us. I can also feel there are things missing still. When the Council is finally seated, you will be a force to be reckoned with.” Romy said.

“No, we will be a force to be reckoned with.” Jordan said and jumped on the bed.

“You know there is something we have not talked about.” Larkin said with a grin.

“What"s that?” Jordan asked and began to unbutton the shirt she was wearing.

“In case you haven"t noticed, most of the Council is pregnant or has had children. I completely forgot that part of the Prophesy. We have to get you pregnant.” Larkin said.

Jordan looked stunned and then said, “Oh shit.”

Romy and Larkin laughed and then pulled her until she was lying between them. They took turns kissing her. “Let's get started now!” Larkin said and kissed her neck.

Jordan forgot everything that they were supposed to be talking about when Larkin whipped her shirt off and then Romy worked on her jeans. “Wait; there is something I have been waiting for.” Jordan said and slid off the bed and stood with her hands on her hips. “Take off your clothes.”

Her men laughed, complied, and then laid back on the bed with their cocks standing up at attention. “Oh, nice.” Jordan purred and ran her hands down their thighs.

“You purred, baby.” Romy said.

“That is so sexy.” Larkin said and grabbed Romy"s hand.

“Must be the cat in me. Now you need to hold still so I can play.” She said and leaned over and kissed them before running her hands down their bodies again and then grasped Larkin"s thick cock in her hand and look Romy"s in her mouth. Swirling her tongue over the round head and teasing him until she slid him as far as she could in her mouth.

Slowly she pulled back and let Romy fall out of her mouth with a small pop. Then she changed and grabbed his cock in her hand and took Larkin in her mouth. They both groaned and clenched their hands in the comforter.

She switched back and forth between them while pumping one of them and using her mouth on the other. She grinned when she felt the salty taste of pre cum on her tongue when she got them excited. Jordan continued her ministrations.

She stopped and focused on Romy for a second. She slowly moved up and down over his cock until he was panting hard. Then she changed and focused on Larkin. Her men were amazing; they let her take control and did not try to make her go faster.

“Baby, you are killing me.” Romy moaned.

“Me too, it"s time for this cat to get his cream.” Larkin said and sat up quickly and threw her on the bed in between them. He moved quickly, had her thighs over her shoulder, and was licking her folds before she could catch her breath.

“I love you.” She cried out to them. This was where she belonged. With her mates.

***

Disgusting. The Master thought as he listened to his mate with two other men. What was she thinking, they were rude and obnoxious. At least the bellboy had been correct with what room they were going to be in.

A strategically placed bug in fresh flowers did the trick. He was able to hear what they were saying. Unfortunately right now, he was hearing what they were not saying and it made him sick. Those cats were soiling his mate.

His phone chimed and Braden looked down and turned the volume on his computer down. “Roarke. Did you get the package?”

There was silence on the phone and Braden felt his anger rising before the man even spoke.

“Master, there is a problem.” Roarke said and Braden gritted his teeth.

“Of course there is.” Braden said snidely.

“The papers are not being sent. Someone is bringing them.” Roarke said quickly.

“And? Kill them and be done with it.” Braden said impatiently ready to get back to his eavesdropping.

“That"s the problem, I thought I should call and get permission before I do this.” Roarke said.

“Do I need to tell you when to go to the bathroom too?” Braden said sarcastically.

Roarke cleared his throat before continuing. He knew when he called, he risked pissing off The Master, but he would have been in worse trouble if he hadn"t. “Sir, you remember when you showed me a picture of the Old Council?” Braden rolled his eyes and said, “Of course.”

“Well, it seems one of the Old Council members is bringing the records. There has been a lot of talk too. About who he is traveling with.” Roarke said.

“While I am still young, Roarke.” Braden snapped.

“Yes, sir. He is traveling with a shifter family, it is rumored that the members are witnesses. They were there that night; they had an appointment with Oliver. Their child was one of the Chosen, and they were requesting security because of the threats.

They disappeared that night and were hidden by the member of the Old Council who is on his way there right now.” Roarke said.

Braden sat up straight. “What? Where did you hear this?”

“From the Old Council staff. They are all a flutter with the news that a Chosen was here this whole time under their noses. They said that she has been working as a maid for the Old Council member.” Roarke said.

“Fuck.” Braden said and then threw his glass across the room. The Chosen were coming out of the fucking wood work. For years, they had not seen or heard from any of them, and now they were popping up right and left. What the hell was going on?

“Kill them!” He screamed into the phone and then flung the phone on the floor.

Everything was falling apart. If they reached the New Council compound, his time here would be over. Certainly, they knew he had killed the Cheaster's and framed Oliver.

Braden looked around the room and then began to pack.

He knew that Roarke would not be successful, Roarke was no match for that many wolves, and he was alone. It was time for him to go and form the rest of his Pack and get ready for war.

Braden picked up the phone and dialed Roarke again. “Come home.” He said simply into the receiver and then hung up again. The time had passed for subterfuge. Now he needed to face his destiny. He was The Master and he would be the leader of the New Council at the end of the day.

Epilogue

She sat in the back of a huge van looking at the small village that she lived in all her life leave her sight. She was scared. When her father came to her three days ago and said it was time for her to embrace her destiny, she had been confused. What the heck was he talking about? Her destiny? It was cleaning for the Old Council member that she had worked for since she was young.

Repeatedly she had been told that she needed to stay in the background, not create attention for herself. She did her job and kept quiet. At the end of her long day, she would go back to her tiny little room and sit quietly by herself and dream. Dream of some day being more than a maid.

She rarely even shifted when others were around. Her parents had drilled into her head that someone would see her unusual markings and tell someone. She had not even known what they were talking about until a few years ago, when she shifted in her room and looked in the small mirror she had bought for herself.

Trinity had been shocked, she was a werewolf. Her coat was a beautiful silver color, which was not what had surprised her. It was the marking on her side that had. It had taken weeks for her to see all of them. At first, she thought they were strange black smudges on her coat. They made her ugly, but when she had finally mounted the mirror on the wall so she could see clearer, Trinity saw what her parents meant. Small animal figures and symbols covered both of her sides. She had been able to see the bear, wolf, eagle, and cat. The others were harder. Trinity had gone to her parents and asked what they were. Of course, they refused to answer her. So for years she had not known what the other symbols meant. Now she was going to find out.
