Meet Sharon Stratton

Sharon has been a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) for over 30 years. For the past 13 years she has worked predominantly in the area of domestic violence, honour-related violence and sexual violence, both as an investigator on a specialist team and subsequently on a team developing strategy, policy, training and initiatives to improve service delivery and advising on the police response in relation to these subject areas. She sits on the Home Office and London Domestic Homicide review panels. Sharon assisted in the development of the DASH 2009 domestic violence risk assessment tool (see Richards
et al
. 2008) as a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) risk expert panel and has delivered training for the tool across many agencies in the UK. She is co-author with Laura Richards and Simon Letchford of a book entitled
Policing Domestic Violence
(2008), part of Blackstone’s practical policing series, published by Oxford University Press.
