Trevor sat back on the couch with his ankles crossed and his fingers laced behind his head. Knox and Sammy were playing pool. The shifter was trying his best to show Sammy how to play.

Minsheng and Yasuko came into the living room and took a seat next to him. “Soooo…you vampire.”

“We’ve discussed this Minsheng.” Trevor smiled down at the little man.

“Show me.”

Trevor pulled his lip back once again and hissed at Minsheng. Instead of being frightened, the guy looked more fascinated than anything else.

“You drink blood?”

Trevor chuckled. “No, I drink cow’s milk.”

Minsheng stood and kicked Trevor in his shin. “No lie to me.”

Knox flew across the room and pulled Minsheng from his feet. “That wasn’t very nice.”

“He no lie to me.” Minsheng pointed angrily at Trevor.

“What the hell is his problem?” Trevor asked as he massaged his bruised shin. “It was a joke, you little shit.”

Minsheng gave Trevor a raspberry and crossed his arms. Knox slowly lowered him with a warning glare. “Don’t do that again. He’s my mate, and I’m very protective of him.”

“More men mating. I never understand.” Minsheng grabbed Yasuko’s hand and walked from the room.

“I understand he’s been through some horrific stuff, but he’s just mean,” Sammy said from across the room.

“I don’t blame him for lashing out.” Trevor sat back again. “I would, too, if roles were reversed.”

He smiled when Knox knelt at his feet and lifted his pant leg to check for bruising. “Your skin is too pale already. It’s left a nasty mark.” He growled.

“I’ll heal quicker than he will,” Trevor said sadly. He ran his hand through Knox’s hair and lifted his chin. “I’m fine.”

Sammy came over and sat on his lap. “Do you want me to kiss it and make it all better?”

“I have something you can kiss, little darling.”

“And you call me a horndog?”

The three laughed as Knox and Sammy went back to pool and Trevor draped his body over the couch to watch them. He’d never get enough of looking at the two most important men in his life.
