Good Girls Do It Well (A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance) (17 page)

“Hey Sarabelle, what’s up?”

“Not much. Christian is kind of being shady and I need to get out of the house. Where are you going tonight?”

“Tonight? Oh, I’ve got plans for this evening.”

“Yeah, I figured you would. I want to go with you. Wherever you’re going, why don’t you take me with you?”

“Sorry sissy, I can’t. Maybe another night. Gotta go.”

She hung up before I could even start to make an argument. It didn’t surprise me that my sister had already made plans but I didn’t think she would be so rude as to hang up on me. Oh well, who needs her? I called Liam. I hadn’t seen a lot of him since I started dating Christian and thought it would be nice to spend some time with him. His answer was very much like my sister’s. He was busy and couldn’t get together. He offered to go out with me the following weekend but I told him I’d think about it. I felt like everyone was blowing me off and I didn’t like it.

As a girl with no plans on a Saturday night, I felt like a giant loser, especially considering that all my friends had plans that didn’t include me. What does a girl do when she’s all alone with nothing to do? That’s right, it was time for a Netflix marathon. I was going to sit down and wallow away with the
Pretty Little Liars.
I popped a bag of popcorn, grabbed a soda out of the fridge and sat down on the sofa to start my show. I was about twenty minutes into the second episode when my doorbell rang.

Who in the hell would be ringing my doorbell now?
I wasn’t expecting anyone and everyone I knew was out doing fun things without me. Imagine my surprise when I opened the door and a well-dressed man was standing in front of me, a limousine behind him in the circle drive.

“Can I help you?” I asked, utterly confused as to why he was at my house.

“Are you Sarabelle Williams?” he asked.

“Yes, I am.”

“Great! I’m just here to let you know your limo is here.”

“My limo? I didn’t order a limo.”

“No ma’am, you did not. I was just dispatched here to pick you up. Please come with me.”

“Oh my God, I have to change my clothes. I’m in my pajamas.”

“I’m sorry Miss Williams. There’s no time. I need you to come with me right away.”

Curiosity got the best of me and I grabbed my coat and got into the limo. I had no idea where I was going but started to put things together as we drove along. Eventually, I realized what the destination of the limo was. I was being taken to Christian’s house.

When we arrived, it was pitch black. There wasn’t a single light on in his house and all of the outside lights had been turned off as well. The driver parked, got out and walked to the back of the limo, where he opened my door for me.

“Is something wrong? Is there a power outage? It’s so dark.”

“I’m not sure, Miss Williams. I was just told to bring you here.”

I had no clue what was going on but I got out of the limo and started making my way towards the house. As I walked up the incredibly long driveway, I couldn’t shake the eerie feeling that I was being watched. Every tiny hair on my neck was standing on end. Just as I started to turn to go up the stairs to the front door, I heard the sound of a large switch being flicked on and suddenly, the back yard lit up with gold and silver lights everywhere. I jumped when it happened as it took me by surprise but it was beautiful. The way the yard had been lit up was so pretty that I had to get a look at it. Once I turned the corner to make my way to the side of the house, Christian appeared right in front of me. He was down on one knee and had a box in his hand.

“Sarabelle,” he said to me. “You’ve changed me both as a man and as a lover. I am forever grateful to you for showing me what kind of beauty can lie within myself as well as others. You’ve managed to take a womanizer and show him what real love is and make me never want to go back to the type of life I had before you and I met. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”

I wanted to scream yes right away but I couldn’t. I was too busy being choked up and starting to cry. There I was, thinking the worst about this man and him being so busy was just an elaborate ruse to set everything up for this perfect moment. I put my hand over my mouth in an attempt to prevent my sobbing from becoming too loud. I witnessed movement out of the corner of my eye and saw Lexi and Liam standing there, watching the whole thing go down. They were in on it too. Eventually, I was able to get a hold of myself.

“Yes. Yes, Christian, I’ll marry you.”

He stood up and wrapped my arms around him, squeezing him tightly. He kissed me and told me that I’d made him the happiest man in the world. Everything was coming together for me. I couldn’t believe it. After everything I’d been through, I was actually going to get my happily ever after.

EPILOGUE

Sarabelle

One year later

I can’t believe it’s really here. It’s my wedding day! The day every little girl dreams of. I know I spent many nights imagining what my dream wedding was going to be like and planning every little detail. It’s amazing how much fantasy meets reality when it comes down to it. I spent a lot of time on this wedding to make it perfect. Christian spared no expense in giving me my once in a lifetime experience.

Everything around me is so frantic. It seems like there are people everywhere. Every five minutes, someone new pops in to check on me and see if I need anything. As much as I’m looking forward to my wedding, I can’t wait until the end of the day. Christian Wilde is the man of my dreams and I look forward to being Sarabelle Wilde when the day is over.

Sitting in my chambers with my sister, who is my maid of honor, and Christian’s sisters, who are serving as my bridesmaids, I realized how lucky I am. I love his family and am glad that his mom and sisters feel the same about me. As we were all sitting around, I listened to everyone chatter amongst themselves. Their voices faded to background noise as I focused on my own thoughts about the wedding. While I was thinking about how I hoped everything would go smoothly, I noticed the door crack open and figured someone else was coming in to check on me. I was wrong.

“Christian, you can’t be in here right now. Don’t you know it’s bad luck to see the bride before her wedding?”

“Oh, it’s fine. Haven’t you figure out by now that I make my own luck? Besides, I couldn’t wait. I haven’t seen you since last night. I just wanted to tell you that I love you and I’m glad I’m making you my wife today.”

Sarabelle’s story had a happy ending but her story isn’t the end of the Williams sisters!

Lexi has a story to tell as well. Find out more in “Bad Girls Do It Better”

CHAPTER 1

BEAST

How in the fuck did I get wrapped up in this shit? I may be involved in some pretty heavy stuff sometimes but what guy with a legit cut isn’t? The thing is, I’ve never had to lay a hand on someone who didn’t really fucking deserve it. Murder? That’s one thing I’ve never done. I’ve never killed a single fucking soul, but here I am, on the run from the pigs because they want to lock me in a cage for something I didn’t do. Fuck that. I’m no animal. If they want me, they’re going to have to catch me and I don’t intend to go down without a fight.

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that my brothers have my back. I’ve been a patched member of the Coyotes of Mayhem motorcycle club for almost six years. In fact, I was just about to become Sergeant at Arms and I was going to be damn good at it too. I was born to be an enforcer and my time had come. It’s too late for all that now. All I can do is go on the run and hope I run faster than the pigs do.

I know I’m gonna have problems once I make it out of town. I don’t have any family except for my brothers in the club. They know I didn’t kill anyone, but we have no way of proving that. A couple of the prospects have asked if there are any girlfriends I can stay with until the heat dies down. All I could do is laugh. I’ve never been the relationship kind of guy. I’m more of a fuck her and leave her type. I doubt anything of the women I’ve banged would be willing to help me out. Fuck them. Who needs them anyway?

I’m sitting here with Stone while we try to figure out the next steps. Stone is the President of the club and he’s seen some shit in his days. This isn’t the first time he’s had to handle a fucked up situation and I’m hoping he has something up his sleeve.

“Fuck, Stone, I feel like I’m losing my fucking mind. All I did was rough that little bitch up a bit. There’s no way that anything I did could have killed him. I’m telling you something else happened that we don’t know about.”

“I don’t know why you’re trying to explain this shit to me. I know that if push came to shove and you had to off someone, I would be the first person you told. We’re all brothers here and you know we’ll do whatever we can to make this better for you. The fucking problem is figuring out where to stash you. The asshole pigs around here have been anticipating some kind of high-profile case and this is falling right into their laps.”

“Fuck this shit, prez, I just have to get out of here and live on the run for a while. What I really need to do is get the fuck out of the country. That’s sure as shit gonna be hard to do with every police force and the feds looking for me. I’d never make it inside the airport, let alone on a fucking plane!”

“I’ve got an idea. Hide out until morning and we’ll have you a ride out of here. I think I know of a way to get you out of the country. It’s gonna be risky and you’ll be right out in the open for a while but if this works, you’ll be home free.”

I couldn’t tell what Stone had in mind, but I can’t really focus on that too much right now. He’s never steered me wrong before so I just have to put all of my trust in him. The problem is going to be finding a place to sleep tonight. I can’t stay at the clubhouse or with any of my brothers because the heat is on me like crazy. The cops will be searching the areas of any known associates of mine. Again, I’ve got no bitches I can bed for the night. Most of the club whores have been crashing out at the clubhouse. Besides, I wouldn’t trust them too much, most of them are airheads. My best bet is to hide out in the Arizona desert until it’s safe to take off. I hope I make it out before the pigs snatch me up and roast me. Of course, I have to worry about the Aces of Anarchy, too. They’re a bunch of punk asses that tried to invade our turf. That’s what this shit was all about. All I did was give their Road Captain a couple of hooks and left him lying on the sidewalk. I just wanted to teach them a lesson in respect and territory. He was moving around when I left. In my rearview, I saw that he was getting back up on his feet. I still don’t know what the fuck went wrong after that.

Fuck sleeping in the desert. Not that I slept much at all, but that shit was stupid. This better not be a preview of what my life is about to become. For the time being, I’m going to have to always look over my shoulder and stay one step ahead of everyone looking for me.

Walking into a secret meeting place that we have designated for emergency situations, I saw Stone sitting with a couple of prospects. Prospects are never allowed to sit in on these kinds of meetings. They don’t get to know about our fucking business until they are legit one of us. Yet, here they are putting their noses right into my shit.
