When I woke up, my mind was filled with
confusion and fear. I knew I wouldn’t see any familiar faces, and
for all she knew. No one even knew anything happened to her.
Hopefully Zayley doesn’t think I just left, but knowing her, she
will. I couldn’t see anything and could hardly move. I realized I
was blind folded and tied up. I wasn’t sitting still on some ground
though, it was more of a shaky ride.

Well, well. You’re awake I
see.” Someone said. Probably noticed I was struggling, trying to
get my arms loose. “Don’t bother, you’re tied up good, and we’re
bringing you somewhere. No one will find you, so don’t pull any
tricks.” They added. I now knew I was in a car. I could feel it
riding over bumps and swerving a little on the icy road. I didn’t
respond to the man talking to me, since I knew it would be no
use.

It felt like hours until we finally stopped.
Still blind folded, they took me out of the car and dragged me into
something.

Take her blind fold off
when you stick her in the cage.” A man said, and the one was
pushing me, fallowed. It smelled kind of funky in here, hopefully
I’m not in some underground sewage ready to be killed. I heard a
few doors open, and finally felt my last push. As he unties me, I
hear him walk off, closing something that sounds like a
gate.

Take off the blinds if
you’d like. It won’t do you any good.” He said, and of course I
did. I realized I was in some sort of cage. There were bars all
around me, located in some empty room. Looks like the basement of a
warehouse. Although, I did not know where exactly the room was, I
also did not know where I was at all.

Who are you?” I asked the
man that was walking away.

I am Argem, soon to be your
favorite person.” He said, and walked away. The man didn’t look
over forty years old. His skin was pale and soft with such
brilliant colored eyes. He was honesty beautiful for his age. I
couldn’t really focus on anything right now but the stink in this
room. It smelled like something died and was just left here
rotting.
Oh god, hope I won’t be joining
them.
I didn’t want to think about that,
since no one even knows I’m here. How would my mother react to me
missing, or even dead. What about Tae and Kierce? They would tear
each other apart trying to fight for my love, so they would have
the honor of claiming me when I’m dead. Hopefully that won’t be the
case though.

Now that I was all alone, and had all the
time to clear my mind. I couldn’t. I still haven’t gotten used to
the smell, and sitting on the hard cement floor was just not
comfortable. My tailbone felt like it was getting bruised. I looked
around once more, and noticed that there was another cage in the
room. Just like the one I was in. It was also pretty dark in here.
The only light was coming from the lanterns hung on one side of the
wall. It looks like a pace they would hold their prisoners. Let’s
just hope they don’t get rid of them here instead.

After a few hours, I started feeling drowsy
again. Whatever Kierce’s father, Luthius, did to me, worked. I
knocked out as soon as I looked at his eyes. There must be a way
from preventing that again. Too bad I never learned my powers. The
only thing I can do is feel the feelings of others, and read Tae’s
mind sometimes. Wait, maybe I can try. I know I yelled at him to
stop invading my privacy, but if he gets worried about me, he must
try to do it again.

Before I could really concentrate and try to
contact Tae, I heard a loud bang. It was the closing of the huge
door that was located somewhere through a hallway. They definitely
didn’t want their prisoners knowing where they are. Why else hide a
door through some hallway.

Amabel!” The voice sounded
familiar. Loving almost. “Amabel are you alright?” It was Kierce.
Oh how excited was I to hear him. All the madness I had towards him
when he ran off, suddenly disappeared.

Kierce! Oh how I’m glad to
hear your voice!” I softly yelled. “I didn’t anyone knew where I
was.” I added, and saw Kierce slowly force a smile from what I
said.

My father told me he
couldn’t wait anymore. Instead of having me bring you in, he said
he wanted to do it himself.” He said. I knew Kierce wouldn’t really
bring me in, and maybe his father did too. “I’m going to try to get
you out my love. You must be patient though.”

Well how long is it going
to take? I don’t mind just sitting here, but I need to let tae and
everyone know. Especially my mother. She must be worried sick.
Also, I need to tell Zayley what happened as well. She probably
thinks I just left her there.” I said, starting to worry about what
everyone is feeling.

You are a prisoner in my
father’s jail, and you’re worried about what other are thinking?”
He said, smiling. “I knew I fell in love with you for a reason.” He
added, now looking deep into my eyes. I knew he wanted a kiss from
me, and I couldn’t deny it. He slowly leaned in, as well as I did,
and kissed through the bars of the cage. In a way, with all al the
lights dim, it was romantic. “Amabel, you must take this time to
enhance your powers. If you knew all your abilities, you can take
on any hunter that comes your way.” He said. Which I believed,
because being the last watcher
must
have some advantage.

I wish I knew how to even
do
that
Kierce. I
will try though.” I said, and suddenly, I heard a click followed by
a bang.

Shit, someone coming.”
Kierce said, and quietly ran to a dark part of the room. Within
seconds, I could no longer see him.

Well, well, well. The last
watcher is now sitting in my jail cage, frightened I will kill
her.” It was Luthius. Kierce’s father. “How sad that no one has
come to recue you yet. Don’t worry though, your lycan might try,
but won’t succeed.” He said. By the sound of that, he was prepared
for
anything
that
would come to recue me.

What do you want from me?”
I asked. Already knowing the answer. He knew that as
well.

Oh sweetie, you already
know.” He said, laughing. “Let’s put away the small talk, and get
to the point. I’m giving you a choice. You either die, or turn to a
hunter. I leave this one on you, but use your time wisely, because
you don’t have much of it.” He added, laughing even harder now. He
was horrifying closer. He had scars all over his face and arms.
Probably why he always has his hair in the way. Besides the way he
looks, what he just said, I didn’t like.

Not much of a choice you’re
giving me.” I said.

Now why would I give the
last watcher a choice she would like.” He said wisely. “The sad
part is, you’re called one, but you’re not one.” He added with a
smirk. “Because if you
were
one, well, you wouldn’t be sitting in a cage
bird.” He added laughing harder now, and before he walked away, I
got to my feet, and spit in his face. The son of a
bitch.

A little of a smart ass
huh.” He said wiping the spit off his face. “It’s okay, you might
come in handy as a hunter.” He said, walking away. How could he be
so evil. Why couldn’t he just leave me alone. I never did a thing
to him, or did I? Kierce now ran over to me.

Amabel, I have to go now.
He will be looking for me. Trust me my love, I will get you out
before anything bad happens. You can depend my life on it.” He said
with such emotion it almost hurt, and left the room. Sitting here
uncomfortably wasn’t the best thing in the world, but it beat
laying here dead.

I wonder how I can get a
hold of Kierce. I haven’t fully learned how to do that yet. Shit, I
haven’t learned a damn thing! As angry as I was, I needed to
try.
Tae, where are you. I need you,
Luthius had me. Tae please hear me!
I
waited a few seconds. Nothing.
Tae come
on! I know I said don’t invade my privacy but now would be the
perfect time to!
Still no answer. I knew he
wouldn’t break my will of privacy. For all he knew, I escaped
somewhere to be alone so no one would bother me. He must be worried
soon though. I know he’ll give in. Especially that it’s probably
past midnight now, and I still wasn’t home. If anything, my mother
would make him contact me first. I was now getting way too
exhausted, and sleep over took me.

It felt like it hasn’t even been an hour
since I fell asleep, but got woken up to someone talking. I never
knew I was such a light sleeper. I guess in a situation like this,
anyone would be.

I don’t know if I really
wish to kill her…. she might come in use..” It was Luthius talking
to Argem. I got a better glimpse of Argem this time. He was tall
and skinny with pitch white hair. He looks even more beautiful than
when I have seen him before. Their voices were so soft, I could
barely hear them talking. Still trying to pretend I was sleeping, I
tried to listen more carefully now. “…she will come in use if
danger arises after changing the last watcher… we can’t be
completely sure whose actually watching sure…. All we know, there
may be thousands..” Luthius said. Thousands of who? All I knew was
that Tae watched over me. If all of the watchers are killed, how
could anyone be watching over me? Plus, even if I
was
turned, I surely
wouldn’t kill anyone who was watching me beforehand.

I feel them both staring me, and now someone
walks away. But I hear footsteps of one person, not two.

My beautiful Amabel.” This
wasn’t Luthius for sure. It was Argem left here with me. Not only
was I in a cold cage and don’t have a clue what I’m going to do,
but now Argem seemed like he wanted to interrogate me. “You will be
with me once you change into a hunter.” He said smiling. I now
looked up at him since he already knows I was awake.

Don’t you think you’re a
little too old for me.” I said.

Not at all actually. The
age difference we can go up to is fifteen years, and it seems like
I’m a lucky guy. Because we just make it.” He said smiling. You
have to be joking me.

Since you will be my wife
one day, I feel a little bad for you now. You seem cold and hungry.
Let me bring you something.” He said and left the room. This was
just great. Not only did Luthius decide that I will be changed into
a hunter soon, but I will have to fight the ones who want to
protect me. Oh and marry Argem at only eighteen years old. This
just added to put top ten things. He now walked back in with a
piece of toast and a blanket.

We don’t have much food,
but here’s something.” He said giving me what he brought. “You will
now wait Luthius’s to take action tomorrow. Of course he can’t do
much without the higher up’s decisions.” He said, looking a little
nervous that he just said the last thing.

Whose even more higher than
Luthius?” I asked. Knowing there’s no point of hiding that
now.

His father.” He said,
blowing me a kiss and left the room. I couldn’t believe all this. I
definitely didn’t want to be a hunter, not to mention Argem’s wife.
I didn’t love him, or was planning on it. Oh how I wished Tae would
hear me. I missed his voice so much. I need him to contact me
because I knew even with all the concentration I had left, I would
fail to contact him first. Why am I even here to start with for
god’s sake. Whoever this higher up is, I hope whoever it is doesn’t
come to make any decisions until I’m far out of here. I don’t want
to be a hunter. I’m the last watcher, and need to start being
one.

The exhaustion once again over took me, and
fell asleep laying on the comfortable blanket.

Chapter Eight – Escape

It has been a few days now since I’ve heard
from anyone. Not Luthius, Argem or even Kierce. I kept trying to
reach tae, but had no luck. Some old lady kept bringing me food
once a day, and a portable toilet. Which was extremely weird and
gross. Good thing I haven’t really eaten any real food. I was no
getting extremely lonely and missed my parents as well as Tae and
Kierce. It has felt like it’s been months instead of days. I tried
to sleep as much as possible to have the time go by, and that’s
what I did.

In the middle of one night, I wake up to
Kierce trying to get my attention.

Kierce! Oh Kierce I’m going
crazy here! I can’t do anything to contact Tae! Where have you
been?” I started screaming more than talking now.

Hey, you need to be quiet.
I can’t be caught in here or my father will know something is up. I
can’t let that happen until I get you out first.” He
said.

That means your father will
know it’s you? He’ll never trust you again. No, you can’t do that.
You must have tae get me out so it will seem like you had nothing
to do with this.” I said. Worried now more than before.

Listen, I’m not worried
about what my father will think after,, as long as now he has no
idea.”

Well, if you don’t want
your father finding out, how come you’re here now?”

I have someone an idea. But
first let me tell you what I overheard my father
saying.”

Okay Kierce, but please
don’t let yourself get into anything. I don’t want you hurt. I know
your father can’t fully control what his father decides.” I said.
Knowing Luthius’s father is old, and probably not all there. I
mean, how many old people are.
