First Take (Star-Taken) (21 page)

He chuckled. “You sound so disappointed.”

After Rachel grabbed a condom, she faced Stephen. He hadn’t changed positions, but had shucked his shorts. His erection strained upward from the trimmed hair of his groin. She licked her lips, remembering the flavor, but he’d said he wanted to be inside her, and that’s what she wanted too. The night was young. The rest could wait. “No. Not disappointed, just surprised.” She moved to kneel beside him and opened the packet.

“You’ve got our toys at your apartment. If you want to keep them here instead
, that’s fine.” He sucked in a deep breath when she wrapped a hand around the thick base of his arousal, the short hairs surrounding it poking her skin. “Or we can get more. Whatever you like.”

She pinched the condom from its home, letting the empty package fall to the bed. Then she
covered his erection with the latex. After retrieving the discarded wrapper, she flicked it off the bed. Straddling Stephen, she said, “Whatever I like. I like the sound of that.”

She also liked the way “we” and “our” had rolled off his tongue. Then she slid
onto his hard length until he was fully seated and all she could focus on was him inside her. His hands gripped her hips, but otherwise he didn’t move. His head canted back into the pillows and his eyes were closed.

For long moments, she experimented. When she rotated her hips, the tip brushed her G-spot, and she sucked in a sharp breath. She wasn’t ready for that kind of stimulation, yet.
Using her thighs, she rose slowly, savoring every inch of his hard length as it slid out then lowered her hips, enjoying his return just as much, but the angle was wrong. Resting her hands on his shoulders, she leaned forward and gasped when the position stimulated her clit. That was the perfect angle.

Stephen dug his fingers into her hips. “Talk to me, babe.”

A smile teasing her lips, she hummed. “Every time I do this,” she took in his entire length and gasped, “your cock hits my G-spot and my clit grounds against the base.”

He groaned as she repeated the actions. “Ride me, babe.”
When a small tremor ran through her at his words, he gasped.

Knowing he enjoyed her movements
empowered her. Over and over, she rose then fell, taking all of him she could and grinding herself against his pelvic bone. The tension coiled tighter and tighter in her belly as her chest heaved and the sound of skin slapping against skin filled the large room.

Stephen
tightened his grip, his Adam’s apple bobbing in quick succession, and a muscle playing in his jaw. “Come for me, Rach.” Strain threaded his voice.

Her thigh muscles burned a protest even as she increased her pace, racing toward completion. A thrill that he
fought for control even as he relinquished it to her triggered the spring and she went flying with a hissed “Yes.”

Before the last tremor faded,
Stephen had rolled her beneath him, somehow keeping their hips locked together even though her legs had turned to jelly. He urged her left leg upward until her knee kissed his hip and she gasped as he slid deeper inside. Then he framed her head with his hands and kissed her.

S
till trembling from her orgasm, she traced her fingers up his arms to his shoulders and kneaded the bunched muscles. Stephen slid his tongue inside her mouth then along her tongue, mimicking the slow rise and fall of his hips. Rachel sighed and wound her arms around his neck, burying a hand in his hair, opening her mouth wider, raising her leg higher.

She
wanted more of him. All of him.

When she whimpered her plea,
Stephen answered, taking her harder and faster without breaking the kiss. He released his hold on her head and slid a hand under her bottom, raising her into his thrusts. The slight switch of angle had the tip hitting her G-spot on each down stroke. She gasped into his mouth and attempted to break the kiss, but with his free hand, he held her chin.

Emotions clogged her throat.
He was answering her silent request for all of him, and now all she could do was take it. A small spasm rippled through her and she gasped.

Stephen
quickened his pace even more until the sound of the never-ending kiss and the meeting of their flesh echoed in her ears. She tightened her hold on his hair and hooked her leg around his hip, her heel digging into his butt. He growled, the vibrations rumbling through her, and slammed home, pulsing deep inside her. Rachel screamed her release, and Stephen swallowed it, gentling his kiss to match the slow rocking of his hips as he coaxed every little spasm from her. Then after one last kiss, he rolled off with a groan.

Rachel
lay there, drawing in huge gasps of air until her heart slowed enough that the pounding in her ears eased. The AC slowly dried the moisture beading her skin. After swallowing hard, she cleared her throat, but her voice was still raspy when she said, “One of these days, I’m sure I’ll combust.”

He rolled to his side and drew lazy circles on her arm. Meeting her gaze, he said, “Isn’t that what love is supposed to be like?” Her heart stilled and he dropped his gaze to watch his hand. “When two people love each other, it consumes them in a fire so intense, they combust. Then from the ashes, they’re reborn as o
ne.”

W
hen he locked gazes with her again, insecurity clouded the green of his eyes. “At least that’s what I always thought it would be like.”

Rachel’s
heart stuttered to life then raced into a gallop. Was he telling her he’d never been in love before? More importantly was he saying he loved her? Hadn’t he just made love to her? Despite their earlier words, “fuck” didn’t apply to what they’d just done. She moistened her dry lips before asking, “Like a phoenix?”

“I love you, Rach.”

Her heart soared, probably much like a phoenix rising would have.

And it’s okay if you don’t love me yet. I can wai—”

She placed a finger over his lips. “I love you too, Stephen.”

He kissed the hand she used to silence him then lowered it to hover over his heart, which raced much like hers. Then he kissed her, a soft gentle meeting of lips. When he retreated, he looked into her eyes and said, “We’ll survive the flames together.”

With a soft smile, she said,
“Together.”

But
how much of the old her would survive the conflagration?
