Chapter 33
Daria

By the time we reach the apartment, I know Cade is about to blow, so I stop. I tuck him back in his boxer briefs and smile. Once he stops the car, he’s out and around by the time I’m stepping out. He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder caveman style, running into the apartment. As we make our way through the foyer, he pulls my boots off while I’m still slung over his shoulder. Once we get into the bedroom, he sets me down on my feet. I spin around and grind my hips into his erection.

“Oh, lil girl, you better not start playing these games.”

I work my top over my head, and then I start on the jeans. I bend over in front of him with my best porn star pose, pulling at my ass cheeks. “What games do you mean?”

He smacks me on the ass. “Your little teasing games.” He grabs me from behind, nibbling and biting on my neck. “These are cute. Are they new?”

“Oh, you win the boyfriend award for noticing the new lingerie.”
“What kind of prize do I get?”
“I can come up with a few.” I turn around and face him. “When did you take off your clothes?”
He grins. “You aren’t the only one with stripper skills, baby.”

He flips the clasp on my bra and it comes open. I slide it off my shoulders. He picks me up and tosses me on the bed. I squeal as he settles over me. He kisses me gently, making each one count.

Cade slides my panties down my legs. He kisses my torso, around my belly button, down to the throbbing nub between my thighs. I yelp as soon as his tongue touches it.

He smirks up at me. “Already so wet.” I look at him, biting my bottom lip. “Did sucking my dick in the car get you turned on?”

“Oh, God, yes.”
He flicks my clit with his finger. “Are you ready?”
“Fuck. Yes, Cade. Please.”
He teases my clit and the opening to my pussy with the head of his cock until I’m about to burst.
“Please Cade.”

He pushes forward and buries his cock deep in my pussy. This results in both of us letting out a moan of sheer desire. “Cade, you gotta move.”

“Give me a minute.”

I chuckle. He pulls back and then slams into me, getting his rhythm under control. After a few minutes, we flip so I’m on top, riding him. He reaches up, pinching my nipples. “Oh God, Cade.”

“Looking up at you like this is sexy as fuck.” I start riding him faster and faster. “Fuck, Cade! Fuck! Fuck! Oh shit!”
I start coming and I clench down around his dick.
He raises my hips a little, pounding me from the bottom. “Shit, Dar! Oh, damn. Oh. Ahhh.”

He comes; I feel the sensation of the hot liquid shooting into me. I collapse on his chest, both of us breathing heavy.

I kiss his chest. “Damn, Cade. That was… whoa.”
He chuckles. “Yeah. Whoa.”
I snuggle into his neck. “We didn’t use a condom, you know.”

“Yeah, I thought about that a second before I exploded. If it happens, it happens. I’m okay with that. Are you?”

I shrug. “Yeah, I mean, we’ve already been there once. Maybe the pills have had enough time to start working. If they haven’t, we’ll deal with it.”

We roll so I’m beside him, and he kisses me. “I love you, Dar.”
“I love you, too. Let’s get married.”
“What?”
“Let’s get married.”
He starts laughing. I panic. What if this was too fast? What if he doesn’t want to?
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have blurted that out like I did.”

He shakes his head, reaching over me and grabbing the drawer in his nightstand. “No, you just never let me get the upper hand. I was going to ask you the same thing after the game tomorrow.”

He opens the ring box. A marquee cut diamond is nestled in the box.
“So, Daria Christine, will you marry me?”
I just start nodding. “Yes.”
He smiles. “That’s the greatest thing I’ve heard all week.”

I smirk. “Well, it’s a good thing I’m looking at that house, because I have a feeling the neighbors are about to start bitching about the noise again.”

“Once we’re married, will you still cook me pancakes and bacon like this all the time?”
I laugh. “What do you think? My pancakes were just to lure you into a trap?”
He leans back. “Baby, I can promise you it wasn’t your pancakes. It was the bacon.”
“Ass.” I throw a napkin at him.

He finishes his plate. “I’ve got to start getting ready for the game. I just hope you didn’t take up too much of my energy last night.”

“Ha ha, so funny.”
He kisses my shoulder. “I love you.”
“What were your other plans for tonight? Throw me on a plane to Vegas after you proposed?”
“No. Reno.” “So funny. What’s with the jokes this morning?”

“No, I don’t care where.” He kisses my shoulder again. “When.” He kisses my collarbone. “Or how.” He kisses my neck. “I just want to marry you.”

“I want something small. Probably just family and close friends. Does that work for you?”

“The courthouse works for me. Not for my mother, but for me. She’s probably already going to be upset that she didn’t get to see it after the game today.” He leans down, kissing my neck again right below my ear.

“Cade, if you don’t stop that, you’re going to be late.”

“I’ve got a couple of minutes.” He hoists me out of the chair and leans me over the table, pulling my panties down. Licking the slit from my clit to my ass, he nips at the cheek of my ass. He stands up and slams into me, smacking me on my ass at the same time.

“Oh, Fuck. Yes.” I’m drenched with desire now.

Cade keeps pounding into me, deep and fast. The plates and glasses bang against each other. He reaches around, tugging on my nipples. It pushes me over the edge as he slams into me one last time, and I feel the warm come shooting inside of me. He slowly pulls out.

I turn and smile at him. “Good luck today, baby.”

Holding Marshall in my lap, I turn to Gabby “Where did you find Marshall a jersey like this?”
“I found it online somewhere. I can pull it up later at home and tell you.”
Anna leans over to us. “Did you hear Carrie got arrested last night?”
We both shake our heads.
“What happened?” I ask.

“Well, apparently after she left the party last night, she got home and decided to take her car for a joyride. She blew through a couple of red lights, and she almost hit someone. Then she swerved and drove right into the bakery on Smith Street.”

My eyes pop. “Whoa. Was anyone hurt?” “No, but her daddy the judge wasn’t too happy about having to bail his coked out daughter out of jail.”
Gabby and I look at each other. “Damn.”
“Hey, girls, I brought us some drinks and hot dogs,” Cade’s mom says.
I smile. “Thank you, Lydia. You didn’t have to do that.”

She smiles. “So what were you thinking for your wedding? I know Cade said you guys want small and intimate.”

“Yes. Just close friends and family. I actually had an idea pop into my head earlier. I want to run it by Cade first, but you know I just inherited this huge beach house in Destin. I was thinking about Christmas break there.”

Anna and Gabby clap like seals asking for a treat.

Richard looks over at me. “That sounds like a smart plan. Several of the people will already be in the area anyway.”

“That’s kinda what I was thinking. Mainly just my parents wouldn’t be close but we could just do Christmas there. Then Cade and I could stay the next week for our honeymoon.”

Everyone nods. Now I just have to hold it together until this game is over. I’m excited to tell Cade.

We’re finally almost to the end of the fourth quarter. This game has been a nail biter. We’re ahead by one touchdown and the other team just intercepted the ball. Shit. Shit. Shit.

The center snaps the ball, and the quarterback looks for someone to pass it to. We are doing a good job of defense right now. I jump up. “Sack his ass.” Then they do.

Gabby bursts out laughing. “You know, two years ago, you were asking me about a world series in football and now you’re screaming ‘sack his ass’. You, my dear, are too funny.”

“It’s all part of my charm.”
Just then we hear the buzzer. We won.

Anna smiles. “Let’s go meet the guys at the tunnel.” Waiting for Cade to come out of the tunnel from the locker room feels like forever, but when I see him come through the gate, I run and jump in his arms.

“What do you think of a Christmas wedding at my beach house? Honeymoon the second week?”
He kisses me. “Sounds great to me. It’s on.” He turns around to the guys. “I’m getting married.”

Linc and Russ laugh. A couple of the other guys walk by and mumble,
lucky bastard
. He picks me back up and swings me around.

“I can’t wait to be Daria Johnson.” “I can’t wait for you to be, either.”
My mom keeps hugging me every chance she gets.

The Wedding December 21

Cade
My mom keeps hugging me every chance she gets.
“I just can’t believe my baby is getting married.”
“Okay, Mom, go on out and have a seat. I’m ready to get started.”
“I think you have to wait on the bride. That’s how this normally works.”
There’s a knock at the door and Gabby pokes her head in. “You clean up nice, handsome.”
I smirk. “I always told you that.” Mom pats my shoulder. “I’m gonna leave you with Gabby. See you soon.”
After my mom walks out, Gabby hands me a piece of purple paper. “This is from Daria.”
I reach into my pocket and hand her the little folded piece of paper I wrote on this morning. “Here, this is hers.”

She gives me a big hug. “I love you, Cade. You’ve been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I’m so happy for you. I was always worried that, one day, you’d meet someone who wouldn’t like how close you and I have always been. That they’d make you choose and you’d pick them. I’m so glad that you fell in love with a friend. Even if to start with, you were just trying to be a man whore.”

“I was not trying to be a man whore. She challenged me and gave me shit. I loved every minute of it. Just for the record, though, if anyone ever told me I’d have to choose them or my friendship with you, you’d always win.”

She wipes a tear. “Okay, well, she’s almost ready. See you on the beach.”
I sit down on the guest room bed and unfold my note.
Cade,

I will never be able to tell you in words how much you’ve meant to me. If it weren’t for your persistent stubbornness, I would have completely given up on love. I thought I had too much baggage for someone to love me. You took the time to show me that you love me no matter what. I never thought I would be getting married, ever, much less when I’m still in college. But it’s like Coach told me, “When you know, you know.” And I know it’s you. I love you and I can’t wait to start our life together today as husband and wife.

XOXO
Yours Forever,
Daria
Russ sticks his head in the door. “Hey, man, it’s go time.”
“Good. I’m ready.”
“I wish Anna would go for something simple like this.”

I shake my head. “Dude, if Anna told you she wanted to get married on the freakin’ moon, you’d try to figure out how to make it happen.”

He chuckles. “Yeah. I would.”
When we reach the sliding glass doors that open to the beach, Linc joins us. “Thinking about bolting?” “Nope. Never been surer of anything in my life.”
Daria
Watching my mom fix the flower in my hair, I smile. She smiles in return.
“I’m so happy for you, baby. I wish you all the happiness in the world.”
I wipe a stray tear. “Thank you, Mom. Is Jim about ready?”
I run my hands down the simple chiffon knee-length dress I picked out and look in the mirror again.
“Yes. I’m going to go on out and give you a minute. Here, this card came in the mail to the house the other day.”
“Thanks. Mom, I love you.”
“I love you, too, baby.”
Looking down at the card, I notice no return address. It’s from my dad.
Daria,

I wish that I could be there today. You may not believe this, but the happiest days of my life were 1. The day I met your mother. 2. The day I married her. and 3. The day you were born.

You have always been the sunshine in my life and Cade is a lucky man to have you. I know he’ll be a better man than I was.

All My Love, Dad

While I’m wiping tears from my face, Gabby walks in. “Hold on, no crying. I just worked on your make-up for an hour while giving an angry six-monthold a bottle.”

I laugh. “But he looks so handsome in his little tux onesie.”

She laughs. “Yeah, he does. Here’s your note from Cade. But first, I want to say something. I’m so glad you were my freshman roommate. I’m also very happy that you’re one of my best friends and you’re marrying my oldest and best friend. I love him like he’s my brother. I was always afraid that when he fell in love that she’d make him pick. But you’ve never felt intimidated by mine and Cade’s relationship and I just want you to know that I love you and I’m glad you’re marrying my best friend.”

She hugs me tight. “Thank you, Gabby. I love you, too.”
“Read your note and then meet me outside the door in ten.”
“Okay.”
The door shuts and I unfold the paper.
Daria,

This is kinda weird. I don’t think I’ve written a letter since like middle school. So I’m just going to make you some promises. I promise to love you for the rest of my life. I promise to be a good husband and father. I promise to not be the douche my father was. I love you and I wouldn’t know how to survive in a world that didn’t have you in it. Let’s go start this next chapter before you fight me on it again. As tempting as running off to Vegas and getting married by Elvis sounds, our moms would have a serious heart attack.

I love you always and forever!
Cade

I make my way from the bedroom to the living room that looks out to the beach. I can see the little arbor we set up out there for the ceremony. It’s small and elegant. I love it.

Gabby sticks her head in. “Ready?”
“Yep.”

I walk down the steps of my beach house, out to the sand, where Jim meets me and takes my hand. He leads me to the arbor where Cade’s waiting for me in a loose fit white button up shirt and khakis.

We stop at the arbor and the preacher asks, “Who gives this woman in marriage?”
Jim smiles. “Her parents and I do.” He kisses my cheek and goes to sit down by my mom.
Cade leans in and kisses my cheek. “Are you ready for this?”
I smile. “More than anything in this world.”
Walking out to the grill, I look over at my very pregnant wife. “Hey, gorgeous.”
