Entwined Fates: Dominating Miya (5 page)

Miya grinned. “I’m not a smart-ass. I’m impish, remember?”

Alex chuckled as he sat next to her on the couch and stretched his arm along the back. “That you are.”

He tugged at a stray curl, and she tilted her head slightly toward his hand. She expected him to pull away, and when he didn’t, her heart skipped a little in excitement. “What else?” she asked.

“Writing a book?”

“Yes. The book of Alex. Keep going.”

He shook his head. “Life with you would never be dull, would it?”

She frowned slightly at his odd change of direction. “I would hope not. So, do your subs have to do everything you say?”

“Of course.”

“You’re a lifestyle Dom?”

“No.”

“Hmm,” she said as she studied him. She lifted her hand and tapped lightly at her lips, which to her inner glee, drew his attention to her mouth. “Which is it, Chancellor? Full-time Dom or bedroom Dom?”

“Is it my turn now?” he asked.

She narrowed her eyes just a little. “I don’t know if I want you asking any questions.”

“After all those questions you just fired off at me? I get a question.”

“Fine.” She lowered her hands and placed them around her knees, making herself more comfortable. ”Fire away.”

“What do you think your father would have to say if he found out you were having sex with a Dom?”

She scowled. “You really know how to be a downer, don’t you?”

His lips twitched. “That’s what I thought.”

“We’re not having sex, Alex.”

KEEP GOING WITH this conversation, and we might
. He already wanted to so badly, his balls ached. When his assistant handed him his bag of BDSM toys, he’d been tempted to keep it and use them to torment Miya. Just thinking about the things he could do to her made his cock harden.

“Besides, you’re an old man,” she said playfully as she stood. Turning, she headed to her bedroom, a purely evil grin spreading across her lips. “It’s doubtful you would be able to keep up with me.”

He laughed, knowing full well it would be the other way around. “Oh, that was harsh,” he called. “Using my age against me like that.”

He heard her chuckle as she shut the bedroom door. “Good night, Alex,” she called from the other side.

“Good night, angel,” he whispered.

* * * *

Alex awoke the next morning and winced at the stiffness in his back. He had to do something about a bigger couch. Any more nights like this, and he’d end up crippled. His dreams throughout the night hadn’t helped matters either.

Every time he tried to sleep, he saw Miya and her adorably devilish sparkle that always seemed to be glistening in her eyes. One particularly hot dream had him tying her to the whipping cross at the club, her muscles quivering with every brush of the flogger against her skin. He turned on the toy in her pussy and watched as she erupted in bliss.

With her spark he’d bet Miya was a firecracker in bed, and he’d spent most of the night picturing all the different ways he could take her.

He sat up and dragged his hand through his hair. His cock ached painfully behind the zipper of his pants, and if he thought she wouldn’t walk out her bedroom door and catch him, he’d masturbate to relieve some of the hunger and pain in his balls. Knowing his luck, as soon as he released himself from his pants, she’d pop out of her bedroom and with that cute impish grin ask, “Need any help?”

He doubted he would be able to tell her no.

Keep thinking of Lord Marcone and how much that man loves his daughter and how much he’d pay to have my head served on a platter if he found out.

He’d been working closely with her father over the last couple of months on security for upcoming functions. Hell, her brother Christian was his best friend. He relied too much on Christian’s support in the senate. He could not screw that up.

With a sigh, he stood and walked tiredly to the kitchen. If there was ever a morning he needed coffee, it was now. He looked around the kitchen and grumbled. “Great. No coffeepot.”

He strolled over to the replicator and angrily hit the On button. “Coffee. Hot.”

He placed a cup under the dispenser and waited. Seconds later, coffee dripped quickly into the cup. He lifted it and took a sip, then winced at the nasty aftertaste. God, how did she tolerate this damn thing?

Miya’s bedroom door opened. The second he turned to look at her, his mouth went dry. She strolled over in a red satin robe. Her nipples enticed him through the material, making him want to reach out and pinch one. Her hair was loosely piled on her head. Curly tendrils hung down around her ears, teasing her cheeks. Her bare feet stuck out from beneath the hem, and he noticed the polish on her toes matched the robe.

“Miya,” he snapped. “Seriously?”

She stared at him in wide-eyed confusion, and Alex felt a moment of regret for being so nasty right off the bat.

“What?” she asked. “Wow, you’re grouchy in the morning.” She glanced down at his cup and winced. “No wonder.” She walked over and took the cup from his hand. “I keep a coffeepot under the sink and gourmet coffee in the freezer for Chris. Replicated coffee is worse than replicated wine.”

She dumped the coffee in the sink, then set the cup aside. She started to walk away, but Alex grabbed her wrist, stopping her. He wasn’t sure why he’d done it. He knew he should let her go, but he wanted to touch her and found his usual Dom control quickly fading.

His gaze dropped to her breasts. “That’s a very revealing robe,” he murmured.

“It’s the only one I have,” Miya whispered.

Alex lifted his gaze to hers. The desire he could see in her green eyes mirrored his own. Keeping one hand around her left wrist, he raised his right hand and brushed the back of his fingers over her nipple. She drew a sharp intake of breath at his touch. He turned his hand and pinched the bud between his thumb and forefinger, giving it a twist.

Miya gasped softly, and color filled her cheeks at the slight bite of pain. There was no fear in her eyes, no trepidation. Just lust. Could she really take what he would give her? Or would she run screaming after the first time he played with her?

Alex turned his hand and rubbed his palm over the tip of her breasts. Her breathing became shallow and her nipple beaded and swelled beneath his touch. He curled his hand over her breast and just held it there.

He knew he was playing with fire. Miya was definitely all fire, and he had a sinking feeling if he got too close, he would burn. But it would be worth every second.

He dipped his head toward her lips, and they parted in anticipation of his kiss. God, he wanted to kiss her, to feel her lips beneath his, her tongue, to taste her.

Alex could hardly breathe. He knew he had to stop. He knew he
should
stop. He should’ve never started it to begin with.

What the hell am I doing?

Dropping his hands, he stepped back. He could see the hurt in her eyes, the disappointment, and it was like a punch to his own gut.

Ignoring it, he opened the cabinet under the sink and retrieved the coffeepot.

“I have rehearsal today,” she said, her voice slightly shaky.

Alex nodded as he stood and set the pot on the counter. “We’ll leave as soon as you’re ready.”

“I usually meet Sam at Legoon’s for breakfast.”

Alex sighed. “Fine.”

Miya nodded and quickly fled to her bedroom.

ONCE IN HER bedroom, she sank back against the door. She could still feel his hand on her breasts, the bite of pain when he’d twisted her nipple. The second he touched her, her desire for him ignited. When he’d brushed his fingers across her nipples, her pussy became warm and wet. But when he’d twisted her nipple, the sharp bite of pain had sent a ripple current of need to her womb that still had her shaking.

She had been terrified to move or make a sound for fear of running him off. Alex had tucked tail and run anyway. What was she going to have to do to get through to him? To get the stubborn Dom to see her as a grown woman and not daddy’s little girl?

She pushed away from the door, and then she showered and got ready for rehearsal. As she stepped out of her bedroom door, Alex was standing at the kitchen island, drinking coffee and still looking just as frustrated as he had earlier.

She wanted to run over there and put her arms around him, but he would probably push her away. He was so stubborn.

“The shower’s all yours if you want it,” she said. “I’ll even join you if you ask nicely.”

Alex turned his head and glared at her.

“Oh, come on,” she said and rolled her eyes. “It was a joke.”

“I don’t think you should go to rehearsal today.”

She gaped at him. “That
better
be a joke.”

“Miya, don’t argue.”

She put her hands on her hips as anger rushed through her with the speed of a lightning bolt. What did he expect her to do? Sit in her apartment all day? “Don’t tell me what not to do. I get enough of that shit from my brothers. I don’t need it from you.”

He slammed the coffee cup down hard enough to break it. Miya was shocked it didn’t. He looked pissed. More so than last night, but she was just as mad. And in her mind had every right to be. Miya had a feeling this was a battle that wasn’t going to end well.

“Damn it, woman,” he snarled angrily.

“Don’t ‘woman’ me, Alexander. I refuse to let that stalker take my life away from me. I have rehearsal today, and I’ll be damned if I’m not going.”

She started toward the door, and Alex yelled, “Miya, you better not leave this apartment.”

The biting edge to his tone and the coldness in his glare should’ve stopped her, but her pride wouldn’t let it.

“Watch me,” she said.

Keeping her gaze on his, she opened the door. Alex’s eyes narrowed dangerously. She should’ve stopped then, but she didn’t. Adrenaline coursing through her body from her own anger, Miya walked out the door.

“Son of a bitch,” she heard him growl, then his footsteps as he came after her.

Miya jogged to the elevator and hit the Down button. She glanced toward the doors, hoping they would open quickly. She caught a look at Alex’s angry face as he stalked down the hall and realized she probably should’ve thought this through a little better. He was pissed. Alex got to her just as the elevator door opened.

“Alex,” she cautioned as she pointed a finger at him. “Don’t—“

Her words were cut off as he grasped her wrist and jerked her forward. Bending slightly, he tossed her over his shoulder. Miya screamed in outrage.

“Damn you, Dorn! Put me down!”

“No,” he snapped.

Miya hit his back with her fists. “Alex! Stop it!”

The young elevator attendant stepped out and eyed them nervously. “Um, do you need help, Miss Marcone?” he asked.

“Yes,” she screamed.

“No,” Alex snapped.

The poor guy looked even more confused.

“Step one more foot out of that elevator and I’ll beat the hell out of you,” Alex yelled.

“Alex!” Miya chastised. “You will not!”

Much to her frustration, Alex ignored her and began carrying her back to her apartment. “It’s okay. Really,” she called back to the poor elevator attendant. “He’s just showing off his Neanderthal.” Alex slapped her bottom hard. She squealed and hit his back with her fists. “That hurt, you jackass!”

Alex stalked into her apartment, then straight through to her bedroom. Miya immediately tensed. Surely he wouldn’t…

“What the hell are you doing?” she demanded. He tossed her onto the bed, where she bounced three times before finally stopping herself and glowering up at him. “Do you realize what you may have done out there?” she snapped. “These people have my father on fucking speed dial. You scared that poor guy to death, Alex. He’s probably calling my father right now. How in the hell are you going to explain that one?”

“I’ll tell him the fucking truth. That you’re a stubborn, willful, pain in the ass!”

“Go to hell!”

“Does your father know you talk like that?”

“Do you think my father would like to know you played with my breast?”

Alex’s communicator beeped, and Miya raised an eyebrow. “Bet I know who that is.”

Alex growled low in his throat as he pulled the communicator out of his pocket, flipped it open, and snapped, “What?”

Chapter Seven

“What the hell is going on over there?” Lord Sidious Marcone demanded in a voice so loud, Alex actually flinched and moved the communicator away from his ear.

He closed his eyes in frustration. Miya had been right. The poor guy had called her father. Son of a bitch.

“Your daughter—” Alex began.

“You don’t have to tell me about my daughter, Alex. I know. Chris told me about the letters. I take it she’s giving you a hard time about something?”

“That’s an understatement,” Alex said as he walked back into the living room and dropped onto the couch. “Do you have any idea what kind of mouth that girl’s got? She cusses worse than I do.”

Marcone snickered. “She gets that from her brothers. It’s a defensive mechanism. She does that most when she’s scared.”

“Good to know,” Alex mumbled. Had it been him who scared her, or was something else at the core of all this? Like those letters. Where they affecting her more than she wanted to admit?

“Is there something else going on, Alex?” Marcone asked.

Alex inwardly winced. What was going on was he wanted Marcone’s daughter. He wanted her so bad he could hardly breathe. He couldn’t have her, so he was taking his anger and frustration out on her. He knew it was wrong, but he tried to convince himself it was better than the alternative, which was seducing her.

He had no doubt sex with Miya would be incredible, but he wanted more than just sex. He wanted her submission, and Alex didn’t believe for one second Miya would submit to anyone, even him.

Sighing, he put thoughts of sex and dominance from his mind and answered Marcone’s question. “Miya hid the worst of the letters. It’s more serious than Chris initially thought.”

“How much worse?” Marcone asked.

“In the last letter he threatened her, and then last night at the opera, there was an incident with one of her costumes.”
